The place is great for beer and sports. Skip the food though. I got the gateway burger and fries, well i had a burger and if i was lucky ten french fries. The burger had 0 flavor and like i said ten fries. But the beer was good. Next time I’ll just head for hop valley, the beer is just as good and the food is ten times better!

When I first started coming in here I was unsure of this place. I think because it was fairly new and I needed to give it a chance. I have been back several times now, and with that said they are consistent with their food, and getting better with their service. They are for sure working out their kinks. Because I have given up bread I am limited on what I can order, but I get the Cali chicken salad and this is pretty good. And so are the sweet potato fries, with the wings with sweet chili garlic sauce. We also have them make us a little dipping sauce for our sweet potato fries. Ketchup and sweet chili garlic sauce. ! If ya don’t know! Our friend was just in town and he got the Hawaiian burger. That looked so good! He said it was really good, my guy usually either gets a burger or a pizza. I guess I can always get a bunless burger. I do it at Dickie Jo’s all of the time. They serve it in a bowl with a piece of lettuce. One of the drinks I had was pretty good, I just wish I could remember the name of it. Lol I want to say faded and X-rated lol but I know that is not it! But it had some funky name like it. No I didn’t get faded, and X-rated! Lol it is a fruity drink. I like em on the fruity side.

If there was a duck game on this would be the place to watch it in Gateway. Great selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. The staff is awesome and friendly. The food was great, I had the veggie sandwich add chicken, delicious! My kind of sports bar… GODUCKS!

I’ve been here twice now and LOVE the Atlas ciders they carry. The food was good too. Both times the waitress was super attentive. It’s never super busy.

I tend to stop by here whenever I’m headed north on i-5 and don’t want to hit traffic in Portland. The beer selection is stellar and the food is good too. Best is the service. All of the servers are very friendly and welcoming, especially the manager, who is quite lovely and an excellent beer advisor. I’ll be back…

I presented my Mexican passport, a valid international ID, and was denied services. The server said«we only take American passports» and insinuated that it didn’t look real. People from other countries stay away from this place.

I’ve been here with my roommate about four times. The food is good for the price(though I’d stay away from the salads…). Their pizza is great, but it’s sort of like what you could make at home yourself. They have 40 taps available that I’ve seen at a minimum(usually far more) and their growler prices are fair. This has rapidly become our go-to spot. All the other taphouses in the area have started price gouging any way they could. It’s nice to be able to go to a reasonable place. The staff have always been chill, too. Pros: Shuffleboard. Loads of TVs. Lots of seating. Pool tables. Price. Staff. Breakfast until kitchen close(for those late-night pancake and egg cravings you get when you’re drunk)! Cons: If you’re not into sports(which we aren’t), the slew of giant HDTVs can be kind of annoying. Uh…that’s it. This place is pretty good!

Good beer selection, poor food selection. Environment not so great. Do yourself a favor and just go to Beer Stein.

It’s ok. Nachos were average, at least it wasn’t the melted Velveeta that some places have the nerve to serve! The waitress was nice… so was her helper. The place is big, probably a good place to have a party. I guess the nacho«bar» has been raised quite high thanks to Café 440.

Visited the Tap house on civil war Friday for the second half of the game. Service was very good, and drink choices pretty good, food choices just ok. If you want a beer and a game it’s a good place to hang, but eat before you go. Chicken strip and tots had no flavor, other than the same as the oil the where cooked in was maybe old. The soup was nothing to write home about and the burger I had with onion ring tasted like the oil it was cooked in. I will go again just not eat.

Stopped in with my kids for breakfast. They have so many TVs. The kids got to play shuffle board. The service was fast and friendly. We shared biscuits and gravy and a chicken fried steak. Both were good but the hash browns were super cold and crunchy. Both sets of over medium eggs were tragically underdone and the English muffin was drenched in butter. I never mind paying 2.50 for a good cup of coffee but their coffee was so bad…

Looks like a great place for booze but my intentions were to find food. Skip the food here. I couldn’t eat my leftover pizza… and I hate wasting food. It was so greasy it was gut wrenching.

Slow service. Over overpriced wine in little wine glasses. Didn’t even consider ordering food there either. Both times I went in to this business it seemed like it needed a good cleaning. Not planning a return visit. Head to Hop Valley or Prime Time.

Came in for a late breakfast(served all day). Food was really good — nothing fancy. 40 Beers on tap so there is something for everyone! TV’s everywhere, a great place to stay caught up on your favorite team. Overall, way better than average! Cheers.

Been here a few times and we’ve loved it every time. Good drinks, good food, good atmosphere. There were some kiddos to so it’s definitely family friendly-ish if that’s what you’re looking for. Their burgers are delicious I say.

I stopped in for a beer, some ordinary regional craft beer, and a pint was $ 6.25. Now, I’m not cheap but that’s basically 25% or more higher than the average EUG pint. Just sayin’.

I can’t write a decent review because no one even greeted us when we went in, let alone served us. Not a single person working there even acknowledged our presence. So we sat there for 15 minutes and then walked out.

Went in first time for late night beer with friends. Amazing selection of taps & hard ciders. The portion sizes of the appetizers was disappointing for the price or I’d give them 5 Stars. Food is good, staff very friendly & did not expect a Spd bar to play grunge/punk music from good bands I grew up with, but that was the best surprise of all! I will definitely be recommending this place to my many friends & be a repeat customer. Great job Gateway Taphouse!

Stopped in for a late lunch. The chicken fried steak is some of the best I have ever had. Delicious gravy with real sausage in it. Wonderful salad(go for the small size it is plentiful) The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely recommend it.

My husband and I decided to try this place out since it was convenient and boasted a large tap list. I was intrigued, but also, admittedly, very pregnant. I was able to peruse the list, but unable to partake. My husband, on the other hand, was happy to indulge his beer tooth. When we arrived, the place was not busy at all. We sat at the bar and were greeted by just about every person there. Normally this wouldn’t be bad, but when each bartender/server asks what you want to drink, it gets to be obvious there is a lot of disorganization. After ordering drinks, we waited a very long time to order food since every server seemed to think someone else was helping us. There were a lot of servers chatting and very few actually working. The food we ordered was nothing special, but not bad. Typical bar food for the most part. The thing we disliked the most was when my husband ordered a beer on nitro, the bartender pouring it did not let it settle. He poured it like any other beer(in about 15 seconds), and then handed my husband the glass of nearly all head, which settled to less than a pint. This is picky, but if you’re a taphouse, you’d think you would be able to get this right. Maybe the guy was new? Not sure, but we may not be back.

I debated on writing a review, but my friends and I were a little pissed after we left this place. We were on our way out of town and Unilocaled a place to grab some Sunday brunch, and this place was easy and still serving breakfast. Based on service I would have given this place 2 stars. After placing our order, I waited more than 15 minutes to get my Bloody Mary. There was 1 girl taking inventory, and 1 girl talking to her friends sitting at the bar, and only a few patrons. Finally after waiting what seemed like forever, I waved at the waitress-apparently interrupting her conversion with her friends and asked for my drink. She flatly apologized and offered to comp it. The food came and it was so-so, but at a great price. $ 8.75 for a premade chicken fried steak, hash browns, gravy, 2 eggs, toast. There’s lots of TVs and seating, and and endless line of beers on tap. If the service wasn’t so shitty, and the waitress was just a little more friendly, I’d consider coming back here.

Very nice establishment for usual brew pub and beer. Good selection of Local and a few out of state brews. Pizza is OK, but I would like a little more cheese. Just a bit overpriced. 7 inch personal pizza makes a good meal with a beer. Lunch time today, was being covered by one waitress(Rachel) who was working like ‘Wonder Woman’. Great job Rachel. Would give it 5 stars if there was a little more available on the menu, and price was a little more reasonable. Had a burger and some very fresh tots. Yummm. Plan to come back again. Thanks.

Good spot if you’re looking for somewhere on a main road where you can have some beers with friends. Gateway Taphouse has lots of beers, lots of space and lots of TV’s. However, those things do not make up for below average food, below average service and a confused identity. The prices are fine, but with the quality of food it seems expensive. Our $ 7.50 mozzarella sticks were bland and the cheese was not melted or hot. My burger and fries were fine, but didn’t stand out one way or another. Although they were busy, it wasn’t a packed house. They didn’t have enough menus and our waitress forgot my water. The space seems geared toward a low-key bar, but they offer breakfast and even though say they’re family friendly, don’t have a kid menu. I doubt I’ll return, but if I do it will be to watch a game and have a beer… after I’ve had dinner.

The Gateway Taphouse is another establishment ran by the same folks who run Goodtimes, Sidelines, and Wetlands. My wife and I have been here twice since they opened. So far, this is a great place. The servers are very friendly and energetic. They have a mix of some veterans and some newbies, so be kind! This is going to be a great spot for watching Duck games, or any other major sporting event, they have 18HDTV’s that go from one end of the bar to the other. More importantly, they have 42 taps! Porters, IPA’s, Lagers, Wheats, browns, stouts, ciders, reds, they have something for every pallet. Children are allowed until either 8 or 9pm, which makes me feel like this will draw a different crowd than the other watering holes such as Goodtimes and Sidelines. As of now, they have 1 pool table, and they plan on keeping it at that. They will be brining in Video Poker soon, and will have a banquet room available once construction is 100% complete. This should serve as a great spot for the hotels in the gateway area. So far I’m a fan, and this is starting to become our go to spot based on location and friendly service.
