I absolutely love this place. It is a a really small restaurant in sleepy little Springfield about an hour drive from New Orleans. The pork tenderloin is to die for and the shrimp & grits is excellent. All the food are very reasonably priced and the quality of the food would match some of the finest restaurants in New Orleans. The waitresses are nieces of the chef/owner and they try really hard to be accommodating as they are not professional food servers. The whole atmosphere makes me feel like I am eating at a friend’s house.

Loved this local 6 – 7 table small restaurant in Springfield, LA. The service was attentive and very friendly. We shared the crab stuffed oyster appetizer(excellent) and wilted spinach salad(very good). I had the redfish over mashed potatoes that were covered with artichoke hearts in a sauce. Partner had a smoked pork loin with mashed potatoes. Both entrees excellent. Lil’ Miss Winnies was a great change of pace from all the fried foods we have been offered in the South. BYOB

Small restaurant in Springfield was quite a find… homemade hamburgers were the best I have ever had. Very nice staff and great atmosphere! Definitely going back to try more menu items!!! Reminds me of how restaurants used to be more personal!

Top notch! Oh how I wish this was not in Springfield. It’s a drive for me but worth it! The chanterelle soup was perfectly nostalgic and the shrimp and grits had a depth I could not get enough of. I’ll dream of those shrimp, I’m sure. These guys are trained and killing it!

My boyfriend and I were delighted by this place. The food(we both had red beans & rice with green onion sausage and corn cake) was perfectly cooked, and we both wiped our plates clean with the homemade bread provided by our charming host. We followed this with bread pudding and cheesecake. The atmosphere was charming, with a number of paintings by Miss Winnie herself on display. Our bill was surprisingly low, and we will definitely be heading back there soon.

If you happen to be anywhere near the area, or if you happen to be able to drive here from anywhere, you will not be disappointed. This may be shallow, but I love being able to get amazing gourmet food while looking like a bum in my California casual. This place has a casual family run atmosphere. The staff are super sweet and the food is super amazing. The chef is very accommodating as I am a nightmare with my odd allergies and not eating meat. He managed to give me two amazing meals while I was in town and the rest of my group was thrilled with their food also.

Awesome food! Seafood gumbo is great and the red beans are awesome! Crab cakes are pretty yummy too! Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the serving size vs the price you pay is very small! If they increase their serving size or lower their prices they will definitely say in business for a long time to come!

Best little hidden jewel around. I am from New Orleans and love authentic Louisiana food. This new restaurant is the real deal. Found it just drivng by and took a chance. After home made seafood gumbo and red beans and rice with a cornbread pancake, I was totally impressed. Not sure but think its a family resturant. The team was cool, very friendly and great, fast service. They had fresh fish dishes and a roast beef po-boy that also looked great. Highly recommend. I’ll be back.

Great flavors made with love. The lunch is reasonably priced. I had the roasted chicken, which came with a quarter of the chicken. It was flavorful with a crispy skin and oh-so-juicy meat with a side of green beans. The bread pudding was the Louisiana flare; sweet and homemade. I forgot to review last time, I just had dinner– I tried the black drum, BBQ shrimp with cheese grits and flounder with lump crab and the potatoes with scallions… a bit overpriced for the amount I received especially from a small town place. I thought BBQ shrimp would be larger, but they were no bigger than an inch wide. The grits and the drum were nicely prepared-cooked just right. Once again, portions did not equate the price. The flounder with lump crab had more crab than flounder. I tasted the flounder skin, but no fish… if there was any, it must’ve been very little. Three(maybe roasted) potatoes had some nicely blanched scallions. Overall, the flavors were still good… but a bit overpriced.

I had lunch there. It was amazing. Gumbo and small loaf of bread. Even had some to take home with me. The food was wonderful and the ambiance was quaint. Definitely a must do again.
