Tutti Frutti & O’ My Buns

Went last night and the froyo was probably the worst I’ve had. We tried several flavors and they were all icy and watered down. The service and the price don’t improve the experience.

Right inside the mall, easy access. Okay people, Thai bubble tea is sooo good. They also have a yogurt bar and smoothies. They also have cinnamon rolls, but, I didn’t see them.

Stay away from this place! This particular location probably needs to shut down. The cream served curdled as soon as i put it in my cup. And they continued to make other drinks using the same product. Very disappointed. Their bubble teas were so sweet that you would need an insulin shot after consuming them!

Was really craving ice cream and the variety of toppings was very tempting. We were visiting for Turkey Day and Unilocaled for Ice Cream. It was more like ice milk. Very watery. Greatful it was cold out because this stuff melted quickly. I like that it was self serve but a little difficult getting to some of the many toppings. Be careful… getting too happy with the toppings will cost you in the end. This place charges by weight and it’s not cheap. Interesting place.

The buns from O’ my buns are really good, I’ve had it a few times from here. But last time I had one it was a bit burnt on the bottom so there was a bitter burnt taste which was sad. I also got a taro bubble tea which was just an average taro bubble tea, it was fine, nothing to complain about with that.
The first time I went there the service was terrible there was one worker and she was on her phone the whole time. The next time I went the the service was alright but she did forget to make my bubble tea so I had to remind her about that but she apologized for forgetting and she made the drink quick so it was fine.

Tutti Frutti has been around since ’08, and offers a variety of frozen yogurt flavors. I’d had it once before in MD, but wasn’t really much of a fan. I was able to try them out again, at this particular location in Springfield Mall (across from &pizza). Flavors such as Salted Caramel, Cotton Candy, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, etc. are offered. If you’re indecisive, just ask for a mini sample cup, and you can taste before you jump the gun! I had half of the Gummy Bears and half of the Original Tart — both were tangy and tasted pretty refreshing. The toppings are a little scarce, but the basics of the popping boba, mochi, jellies, candied chocolates, and cereal are still offered. There are about two bar tables available, but no seats, so this place encourages in you to just grab-​and-​go. If you’re looking for a froyo treat and you’re in the area, check Tutti Frutti out!

Most of these frozen yogurt places are the same but this spot differentiated itself with great coffee and espresso drinks, some interesting flavors, the Korean buns, and more toppings than most. It was also way cleaner than most of the self serve places.
I had an Americano that tasted just like a high end coffee spot with a lower price point. My friends liked the bubble tea smoothie as well. The Korean buns were these large soft bread buns in lots of flavors, very tasty.
The frozen yogurt options included a nice, creamy, not too sweet taro root, some strange ones like gummy bears (tastes just like you would expect), standard flavors, etc. The original tart one wasn’t working and was stuck apparently which was annoying. Prices for the end product were pretty high, more than I’ve seen at most places so be careful.
The toppings had everything you wanted as far as fruit or cereal or chocolate, etc. Nice and clean and fresh for all of it.

I got their triple berry bubble smoothie. Flavor was delicious and they were generous about the bubbles too I wanted to get the cheese mini and the cashier was friendly enough to have me sample it and stated that «I hope you like it enough to come back next time for it.» I thought it was a wonderful marketing. My husband loved it. So yes we will be coming back to buy it next time.

I’m sorry I just didn’t find this frozen yogurt appealing at all! I felt like I was eating a bowl of ice. I’m not impressed with the consistency or the flavors. Still trying to find a place here in NOVA that has decent frozen yogurt

This place is clean and also has coffee. They said they change their flavors every two weeks. Right now they don’t have any lychee flavor unfortunately. For samples an employee has to get it for you. There’s not much different from this tutti frutti and the other locations. Only two standing tables so you won’t be able to stay here for long unlike some of the other locations. There are some benches outside of the shop but are free to all mall patrons. This location is near the Jcpenny’s in the mall and has a mall entrance exit right next to it so park near there.

O my god! I tried the new menu, Affogato, Vanilla yogurt with espresso. This is so gooood. And I really enjoyed cream cheese bun with almond topping. This is my best favorite of dessert. They baked fresh buns every morning. Coffe and bun is perfect to breakfast.

Small place next to exit. Can only comment on general feel as I wasn’t served. Two customers and two employees however they stayed in register area although no one was checking out and held a conversation that was seemed to be preferable to helping anyone.
You can ask for tiny cups to sample but since I was ignored I didn’t try any.

What! A place with froyo, bubble tea, and a bakery all in one. The froyo was good and there were a lot of toppings to choose from. The fruits were fresh and everything was kept clean and tidy.
I tried the cake batter froyo and this was so good! It was buttery and sweet. I was also a fan of the cookie and cream froyo.
It was creamy and tasted super chocolatey. It was a perfect pair with the crushed cookies.
I did not like the gummy bear sorbet. It had a strong pineapple flavor and was not creamy. Instead the froyo was more of a slushy flavor. I added real gummy bear on top.
They even have boba tea there! I tried the milk tea, but I didn’t really enjoy how the bubbles were too hard. They were not soft and chewy like I wanted them to be (but the tea itself was good!
They even have a bakery there! Overall it was a nice place that had a lot of options, but the desserts were all okay.

The focus of this place is on their buns and the coffee. The froyo is more of a welcome compliment, but I have to talk about the buns here. It’s really interesting because it’s not a donut or some other typical pastry. The buns are AMAZING when they’re fresh and warm right out of the oven. I looked them up online and saw that their were an up and coming business here and there in a few places around the US and on the west coast. Their cream cheese bun and cinnamon buns are my favorite and their original coffee buns are just as good. The second thing I want to rave about is their coffee, which is definitely one of the higher quality coffees. Hand drip coffee is a huge plus, seeing that its becoming the new «thing» for coffee these days. They serve Gimme Coffee, a local high quality coffee sourcer based in Ithaca, NY. They’re on par if not better than other coffee brands like Stumptown, etc. The coffee is numerous in variety and very rich in flavor. The buns and the coffee go hand in hand. Either way, this is a MUST TRY! I GUARANTEE you’ll love the buns and the coffee.
