This place definitely seems like a local favorite, from tourists just looking for a good lunch to the drunk college student at 1am. It has a TON of character. Located on one of the cobblestone streets you picture when you think of St. Augustine, this location is near other food joints and trendy boutiques. I had been Unilocaling trying to find a St. Augustine staple, and came across this place with a ton of good reviews, mostly mentioning a menu item called the UFO, which of course intrigued me. When you arrive, you’ll be met with psychedelic colors and graffiti splattered walls. Seating is limited and very«fast food joint» esque with small tables and standard booths. You walk up to the counter to order. I asked if I should try the UFO and got a resounding«yes!» After a couple of minutes my food was ready. A UFO consist of cheese — lots of cheese– between a hard a soft shell, meat of your choice, and the regular assortment of taco toppings, and then grilled to perfection. You also have a choice of The Works or Baja style. I opted for The Works. It’s very big, so if you’re someone that often splits food like I am, my boyfriend and I were able to split this. Get some of their baja sauce or other type of salsa on the side if you like to spice things up. The service here was great. They knew I had never been, and went above and beyond to make it a fun experience, offering up salsas for me to try and making sure they made it how I desired. I definitely recommend this joint for a quick yet delicious lunch, or drunk food if that’s your style. Don’t come here if you’re trying to be «healthy», come here if you’re trying to indulge in cheesey goodness!

So I got three tacos if you get three you get a dollar off I got the shrimp tacos Baja style They were amazingly good the Baja sauce so fresh and with a nice warm heat the shrimp is grilled and topped with cabbage onion and cilantro all on your choice of flour corn tortilla Perfecto!

The worst burritos I’ve ever had. Everything is unbelievably bland. I could not believe you could make Mexican food so flavorless. Stay clear of here as its a waste of money!

Had the burrito, Baja style it was great. My girlfriend had the chili lime burrito and lived it as well. Great spot for a nice low key lunch

I ordered burrito bowl, with fish, the works & black beans. Sadly disappointed. The food was bland. Thankfully they have cholula there that I can add to it. My teen &9yr old ordered the cheese quesadilla(they LOVE cheese quesadilla) & they both said that they were tasteless, hubby tasted it & agreed with them. Hubby ordered pork burrito, the works & with black beans. He said the pork itself tasted decent but the rice & beans were both bland. My sister ordered fish tacos… same thing. From the other reviews, we probably should have tried the UFO.

The food was good but YUCK that restaurant is dirty. Needs a deep cleaning to remove the stale beer smell and dirt.

Somewhat busy at 11 pm. Took about 10 minutes to get my burrito, which was delicious. Order at the inside end of the kitchen bar. Leave your name and retrieve meal when called. The place

The search continues for good places to eat on St. George street. Well I stopped into the burrito works and it is kind of a funky place. I like funky but this place is different funky. The menu is on the walls and it could be confusing with no real rhythm or reason to it. It is almost like the owners were good and drunk and started painting the walls. I heard that this was a good place from the electricians on the job. I guess maybe the burrito bowl wasn’t a good choice cause mine meal was pretty lame. I mean it was all rice and beans with a very small amount of meat with some spicy sauce spread over it. I guess my search will continue for some good eats in walking distance from the job.

Yum, yum, yum! I got the works tacos(shoukd have gotten 3) and the chicken was delicious with typical toppings. I added some of the hot sauce because i like a little more flavor. My husband got the nachos baja style and loved it! It had a really great flavor with the sauce! I think if we ever go again, I’ll try the UFO! Fair warning, it’s definitely a divey place, just dont pay attention to the cleanliness of this place. Seriously, just ignore it and you thouroughly enjoy your food!

This is by far the best burrito I’ve ever had! It was a UFO burrito, which was huge and could have served two people easily. This place is nothing fancy but their food definitely delivers and the price is low, which I found awesome! Another awesome point… beer on tap! Only a few local choices of course, but I’m definitely a fan. I honestly don’t think I’ll go anywhere else for lunch in St. Augustine. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, providing quick service. Love Love Love!

Should’ve read the reviews before going there… My friends and I got in late to st Augustine. We were told by a local that this place is the only one open till 2am. We arrived around 1:40ish am and were told by the staff that they were«out of food and are now closed.» We were very confused, but we left. The next night(Saturday) we happen to be out late and then decided to try the place again. Luckily, we arrived at 1:25am. The place was busy and we patiently waited our turn. Around 1:40am a young guy behind the counter has announced that everyone has to «finish their food quickly and leave» and that«whoever is ordering will get their meals to go only.» He was so rude! Several people made comments to him about his behavior toward the customers, but he didn’t seem to care. People who tried to come in were turned away. The food was good, but the customer service was appalling. Get it together! Stop letting petulant kids run the place at night. They don’t care.

Good ol’ St. George St. Has everything you can ever imagine. With it being so touristy, one will usually pay tourist prices. Here is an excellent exception. There were glowing reviews, and something they sold was literally out of this world, & different than u can find at any taco shop. Calling Mork from ork, please order me a Mexican UFO. It can be spicy or not spicy, and choose the toppings. In other simplest terms, it is like a crunch wrap. Not fried, but pressed. Pretty darn good, I agree with the rest of the reviews. I also love the local graffiti art. Definitely a place to check out!

Late night patrons beware: Some of the most rude staff I’ve ever experienced. The late night staff seem to have no oversight or anyone in charge, and literally will allow customers to come in and just tell them to leave after hey be paid because they«want to go home» –over an hour until closing time, randomly and rudely kick people out. The only reason I gave 2 stars vs 0 is the fact that some daytime staff have been nice and the food is decent. Steer clear of this place at night. Advice to owner: if you don’t want to deal with a late night crowd, or have staff care at all, don’t be open at that time.

This wacky little taco shop in Old Town St. Augustine is a great place to stop for some tacos and a beer! The food was all very fresh, and the UFO thingy ma jig that is on the menu is delicious. I think it is essentially a tostado wrapped in a burrito? Whatever it is, go for it. Not much room for seating, so you may have to take togo.

We came here with a friend who lives in St. Augustine. She ordered the Mexican UFO, so we ordered the Mexican UFO, too. My boyfriend for the chicken with the works, and I got the shrimp Baja style. Holy shit! It was so good. It’s basically the best crunch wrap supreme, only better. They seal the«UFO» with shredded cheese and them grill that side to make the cheese nice and crispy. Since the restaurant kindly cuts the UFO in half, we were able to perfectly split our UFO’s so we could both experience the different fillings. The Baja style with shrimp was amazing. I love cabbage and cilantro– the flavors were perfect. The chicken UFO with the works and black beans was out of this world! So delicious. The chicken was perfect and moist and actual real chicken. I was so impressed. I will, without a doubt, come back here when I’m in St. Augustine again.

Third visit in 1 month where the posted hours were not important to the staff apparently. Tonight, for instance, hours posted list 10pm closing time. At 9:07, I arrived here craving a UFO and once again, they’re inside shutting down with closed sign up, nearly an hour before the advertised time. Out of 4 visits now, I have only once actually gotten to eat the food, because in each instance, they were closing early, out of everything, or refused to restock cheese for tacos because ‘it was too close to closing time’- staff members actual words. The one meal I had there(the UFO) was awesome but it was a challenge to sit around and watch them make it while you try not to notice the filth everywhere. Staff was rude, and clearly upset that myself and 3 other customers had the audacity to come in to a taco shop and order tacos. No napkins, straws or forks were available to eat your food with. Sorry to inconvenience you guys! Disappointing business plan, or lack thereof.

This place is a true dive. It always looks busy so we decided to try it. It is all burritos as the name suggests. I can’t say the service is friendly, but they do serve I guess. The guy behind the counter said that the«UFO» is what they are famous for. My husband and I ordered it. It is pretty much a burrito folded in a circle and pressed to melt the cheese. My UFO was kind of dry but my husband’s had the right amount of sauce on it. Next time I’m in St. Augustine and come to this place, I would like to order the burrito bowl and make sure to ask them to add enough toppings so that it is not dry.

What a great taco shop on St. George Street… and the name of the place is actually«Taco Shop!» LOL Walking in, the ambiance practically slaps you in the face. It’s like being pulled back in time to the late 60’s when everyone was tripping on acid and the slogan was«Peace, Love, & Rock ‘n Roll.» I wasn’t quite born yet, but that’s my understanding of how it was in the late 60s. Wanna get a feel for what I’m talking about, then check out my photos I took of the place. Even the bathroom is totally trippy! Now, onto the food. Yummmmmmmmy! I had the soft taco and hubby and I split an order of nachos. I’m a pretty darn picky eater, so I only had them put the shredded beef and cheese on the nachos, but they were so good. My soft taco was a large one and was really good too. I noticed the greasiness wasn’t there like you find in a lot of tacos. It was large for a soft taco too. I’d definitely order these items again. But next time I go, I’m going to check out the UFO Burrito. That thing looked out of this world(I guess, hence the name, UFO… LOL)! The employees were friendly and service was fast. We had our food within minutes. The joint is kinda small and can be hard to move around in if there’s a crowd. We were there late, so we didn’t have this problem. i am very much looking forward to going back here!
