Love this place, it is one of the best mexican restaurants that I have ever eaten at. I wish I could eat there all the time! The salsa that they serve with the chips is to DIEFOR. I could go in and just have that. I’ve tried the pork sandwich(forget the name, it’s the street one), the chimichanga, and a few others. Their chicken is the best, so flavorful. I hate the décor as its super cheesy and wish the waiters acted like they care but I can overlook just about anything as long as they keep serving delicious food!

Love this place. Been here a couple of times. Always good. Slightly more upscale than the regular Mexican joints around Jax. Their salsa is really good. There isn’t anything you could pick off the menu that will be bad. It’s all good. The place does get busy though.

This place was yummy. It’s US-mex not authentic Mexican so if you go under those pretenses, than you wont be disappointed. Service was super quick. I ordered the Sriracha shrimp taco and the cevice shrimp taco — not greasy, just delicious. Boyfriend had the shrimp quesadilla which was not super greasy and cheesy at all — much to our delight and surprise. Came with sauteed veggies in the quesedilla, a fresh salad and good rice. Nice chill spot to eat if you’re looking for a filling me without a lot of frills.

This place has the best street tacos. Everything from the guac to the nachos were spot on. I had the skirt steak taco and the cold shrimp taco and they were both amazing. Don’t miss this place.

Saw an ad for this place a few days ago and wanted to come, but the rest of the family weren’t in mood for Mexican food at the time. Headed out of town and looking for a place to grab lunch, and we saw Cantina Louie on the corner! Service was quick, ingredients all fresh, presented amazingly! Good, inexpensive, and quite authentic(I’ve been all over Mexico several times). We will be back!

Finally found a true California burrito(they call it a western), or at least as close as I am going to get in Florida. Service was on point and the prices are ok. The salsa could use some help though, it tastes like tomato sauce with cilantro thrown in. I can look well past that given the taste of the food more than makes up for it.

Took English parents out to try street food. Absolutely amazing flavours that they hadn’t encountered before. We all had shrimp based foods — enchilada, chimichanga, tacos, and each were very good. Everything was very much an explosion of taste, but no one flavour overpowered. Recommended for a rich and flavourful treat.

I have ordered one time from this place and what was memorable about this place is they got my order wrong, the chicken was dry and food was not well seasoned. Absolutely nothing amazing or great about this place that would make me go back.

Their salsa is delicious. Sad that you can’t get horchata except on the weekend. Did not care for their pastor taco, too dry. Every thing else tastes good. Service was not too bad. It is very loud inside.

This place was delicious! The décor inside was pretty cool and the service was great. I ordered the fajitas quesadilla and had the ceviche as an appetizer. The food had really good flavor and ceviche tasted fresh. I will definitely go back if I am in the area.

We went here last night for the first time and I was not overly impressed. It was certainly more packed than when it was a Thai place. Salsa was tasty but way too runny. A had a specialty margarita and it was the tiniest mixed drink I’ve ever been served. Maybe that’s what’s special about it. Guacamole was terribly over-salted. I had a fish taco and a shrimp taco. Tiny filling with barely any flavor and no sauce of any type on it and sitting on some oddly brownish soft corn tortilla’s with no flavor and that self-destructed for no reason, considering the lack of a sauce. On a good note, the $ 2.50 Dos Equis draft was a plus. I doubt I’ll go back.

The absolute best Mexican food in St Augustine. My wife had a chili relleno made the correct way. I had two of the Tacos Fresco with Carne Asada and they were great!!!

Almost didn’t stop because the spouse thought the exterior was cheesy and touristy looking. The parking lot was half-full, even on a Monday @ 6pm. I pulled in despite the spousal abuse. We’re glad I did. The big sellers here are the«Mexican Street Foods» which is a variety of tacos. $ 2 Tamales on Sunday, $ 5 Mojito’s on Monday. We decided on traditional dinners. We ordered Classic Mojito’s, Chile Rellenos, and Carnitas Burrito. The Mojito’s were properly prepared, with lime, muddled mint & simple syrup. Very tasty. Went down way to fast. Only $ 5 on Mondays! Handmade chips and salsa start everything off right: The Chile Rellenos were battered every so slightly in egg and stuffed with queso cheese. The red sauce did not drown out the chiles. A few seeds remained just to give a good kick. Served with rice and beans. The Carnitas Burrito was stuffed with tender pulled pork heated gently in a flat top grille. It was smothered in a wonderful queso sauce. Served with rice and salad. The food was quite good considering it’s in St. Augustine, a major tourist trap. Cantina Louie’s is a loud, family style cantina with big, purple booths. By the time we left this place almost packed with repeat customers. We’ll be back. Did I mention Mojito’s are only 5 bucks on Mondays? :D :D :D
