This was our second attempt to get lunch in st augustine today. The first location we sat for 10 mins before we even got a menu. Then sat some more. So we go to Meehans. The hostess was very friendly and sat us promptly,…then we sat. After 15 mins we got menus then the waitress took off. 10 mins later our drink order was taken. 10 mins and we got our drinks. After waiting yet another 15 mins we decided we did not have 3 hours for lunch and got up to leave. Now i drank one sip of my soda and my gf took 2 drinks of her beer. We walked out. The waitress ran us down on the street to pay for the beer. Why all of a sudden were we important to her!?! Absolutely disgusted and it sounds like i am one of many customers with a problem with the service there. We spent 1.5 hours trying to get lunch and got 2 sips of drinks in 90MINUTES! This establishment has left a bad taste in my mouth about St. Augustine FL and im not sure i will ever be returning

We sat outside during a cold front but this place was still pretty awesome. It still had a beachy feel regardless of the weather on account of the heaters they have around the patio. We had a few beers, some drinks, conch fritters, and a cheese dip and all were very good! Would love to come back when it’s warmer.

Amazing! We split a Ruben and had crab dip… We have no complaints. The server was awesome, and the food was even better!

Had never been to this place before. Tried 2 items the Reuben sandwich and blackened grouper. We enjoyed both dishes and my wife thought that the Reuben sandwich was the best she had, other than the one she had outside of New York City

Amazing food. Reasonable price(about the same as a chain) l, friendly staff. I got the Clam Chowder and the Ruben. The chowder was a bit on the colder side but that’s how I like it so that was good. And the Ruben itself was incredible!!! The fries/chips that came with the Ruben left a lot be be desired. Other than the fries I would be willing and more than ready to dine we again!!!

We took a vacation to St. Augustine and intended to visit a multitude of bars and establishments. Meehan’s instantly became a favorite and we became regulars during our stay. The drink selection offered a plethora of selections and the atmosphere was simply to die for. I highly recommend this pub for any stay or visit to the St. Augustine area!

We stopped in earlier around 1:30 and there was a waiting line so we just used the bathroom and went for a walk as we had 1.5 hrs to wait to get into our B&B room. When we came back an hr later there was room at the bar so we grabbed a couple of chairs there and watched some football(they have several TVs) while we had ice tea and peel and eat shrimp that was awesome. We saw some amazing dishes getting served and were told by those eating that the food was awesome. We will be back to check it out more. The bartender was prompt with our order and we were served within 5 minutes with the shrimp.

My wife looked forward to fish and chips all day. Took one bite and spit it out. My wife can be picky so I gave them a try, my advice is pass on the fish and chips. Soup was ok. They did refund the money for the chips.

You can’t beat the view from the upstairs balcony, that is for sure. We enjoyed some of the local red ale and fine Irish fare as we gazed at the fort and the waterfront. My wife had the Guinness braised beef sliders. Large portion of fries and onion rings. Very good. I had the catch of the day(mahi) blackend sandwich. It was superb. My bro-lo had the Tommy Dolan, cooked perfectly. The view was so good we stuck around for a couple more pints. Great place to dine in St. Augustine.

My bf & I came to Meehan’s Irish Pub about a month ago for a small bite to eat and a few drinks. If I were rating the Pub based on food and atmosphere I would give 4 stars. The 3 stars is based on the lack of service we received at the beginning. Our initial plan was to sit at the bar but since it was full the hostess suggested we sit in one of the tables in the bar area and a server would be right with us. Well after a good 15 minutes of having no server greet us my bf finally went to the bar to order our drinks. When he was at the bar a server passed by and asked if I needed anything and I said yes some service would be great. She than took our drink and food order. I understand sometimes tables get overlooked but when I am sitting there with nothing but a menu, looking around, having several servers pass by me and no one says anything until 15 min late that is poor training in my mind. Anyways, for our first round of drinks, I ordered my go to moscow mule and my bf got a black and tan. For our meal, we split the grilled chicken sandwich that came with grilled whiskey bbq sauce, bacon and your choice of cheese. It also came with«house chips» which are garlic fries. The food was very tasty and the fries were delicious! Their ranch is also homemade and amazing! The sandwich and fries were $ 13.50 but very filling and large portions. Overall, I would come back again hopefully service is better next time or we can find a seat at the bar!

Wife is always looking for oysters and the bell man said she wouldn’t be disappointed. And she wasn’t. But more surprising was how great the French Dip was. It was a medium rare, thinly shaved rib eye with melted provolone cheese on a great roll. It’s an Irish Pub so the selection of beers was impressive. Overall good atmosphere and decent price for a tourist spot.

I love this place. It’s conveniently located in the downtown historic district of Saint Augustine. It has a laid back tropical atmosphere. The drinks are always good and the staff is cheerful. The appetizers are good. I do recommend the Fish Dip. For me it is a great way to start a «tourist» afternoon.

We came by for dinner on a week night. They have an upstairs and downstairs area along with an outdoor patio for when the temperature and weather permits outdoor seating. When we arrived we asked if we could sit upstairs but were informed by the host that it was«closed» upstairs for the evening. Hmmm, ok then… We were seated downstairs on a booth, with a partial view of the water. Our server came over to take our drink order. We asked if any happy hour specials. Nope, nada. Then we asked the server(just to confirm), that the domestic drafts were 16 oz glasses. He said they were 12 oz. That does not seem possible to me, as every restaurant/bar I’ve ever been to it’s always 16 oz(its called a pint for a reason, hello!)… seems like the server did not know what he was talking about there. Regardless, we ordered 2 bottled beers and 2 burgers. The food took a LONG time to come out considering they weren’t very busy. Also, both of the burgers were overcooked compared to the temp we requested they be cooked at. Not the most amazing flavor I’ve had in a burger. However the fries were good and it was obvious they are hand made in restaurant, not frozen from a bag. The fries get 2 thumbs up. I was considering getting a few oysters, as they advertise them out front on their sign as well as in the menu, but there was nothing mentioned in the menu about being able to order a smaller amount, such as a half dozen, so I decided not to get any. Overall it was just okay, not stellar but not terrible. Would not go out of our way to come back here.

Good place for drinks, not food. After walking all of St. Augustine to look for a late night dinner we ended up here. Started in the restaurant area, limited menu. Decided to go to the back patio to eat. We ordered conch fritters, flatbread, and crab dip. The drinks took about 15 min to come out. The bartender was making one drink at a time, then walking it to the table. Seems more efficient to make them all at once. Drinks were pretty good, and the only reason this place didn’t get 1 star. The conch fritters were bad. They were really soggy and I couldn’t find conch in them. I have had conch in some awesome places(keys, bahamas, grand turk) but these were a poor excuse for an attempt. Crab dip was bland, no real crab flavor. The flatbread was only ok as well, although it looks like little ceasers could’ve done better. Good place to stop for a drink, but skip the food. Service was only ok, but we had been in earlier to get a drink and were ignored for 10 min.

It was late on a weekday night and all the other restaurants were closed so this was a dining option of last resort. Our large party which included two over-60 diners was totally out of place amongst the college age drinkers with their blue fish bowls of booze but the wait staff was still very nice. The clam chowder definitely exceeded my expectations. Would I go back there again? No. Not really my vibe. This is a college drinking hang out. But they get still get three stars for coming through and being not crappy.

Came here on a Friday night. Actually it was the meeting point for a Ghost Tour that I was going on later that night, so we decided to go in and have a couple drinks before we went on our tour. I must say, I was happy that we did. The environment was definitely Irish Pub feel. The people within the venue were casual and everyone looked to be having a good time. There was live music playing some hit songs and even taking request. The beer was nice and cold, got the Torpedo(IPA) draft beer, they were $ 5.50 each which is a good price as they are a double IPA so a little strong in alcohol. Downside is there was only one bathroom on the first floor that was a unisex bathroom that serves one person at a time… so yes, there is a line for the bathroom. There was a sign that said additional bathroom on second floor, but by the time I noticed it I was next in line so didn’t want to risk going up and finding another line… not sure what the upstairs looked like or what the bathroom situation up there was as we had to leave after waiting for the bathrooms for out tour meet up time. I will say… this pub in comparison to some of the other places around Old Town St. Augustine is a must go to if you are looking for a mature crowd having a good time to good live music, great food, and great beer. Most of the other places in the area are filled with loud drunken college kids, which is fine if that is your scene otherwise, Meehans is a great go to(They do have an outdoor patio in the back) and if you are bar hopping, down the road you can find Stogies Jazz Club & Listening Room which has the same type of environment but no food, however cigars cigars cigars(see my review).

Amazing as always! This time we had the mac and cheese as a starter. For the main entrees we had the shepherds pie, shrimp flatbread, mussels and fish sandwich.

The food was excellent and tasty, I had the muscles and fish of the day which was cobia served with grilled shrimp on the side. The problem with this place is definitely the service or lack there of. I’m not sure if they constantly under staff the restaurant or what but extremely long waits just for orders and refills of even just water. We sat at outside tables with fire pits in the middle, great atmosphere great food you just need to focus on their service.
