Ordered the Jeff City prime rib sandwich and ice tea, she ordered the salmon. Waiter came back and said I couldn’t order the Jeff City because they were saving the prime rib for a group that isn’t here. That doesn’t make for a good first impression. Waiter said he would be right back with my ice tea, that was 15 minutes ago, other tables have gotten their drinks Will have to see if the food makes up for any of their shortcomings. I’m not holding my breath.

Went there for lunch today and ordered the club salad(full sized). Although it was huge, I was pretty disappointed. The iceberg lettuce(yuck) was not only frozen in spots, but it was mostly the white inner part of the lettuce. For $ 13, I could have made myself 5 salads that size and I guarantee they would be 10x the quality.

Like others have said, the view from the upper deck is nice. The food was ok. I had eggplant parmigiana and tried the clam chowder. I must say I did like the chowder but the eggplant wasn’t my favorite. The price was ok, about $ 22 after tip. I love this old section of town.

The outdoor seating is pretty awesome. The food is mediocre, though. Not impressed with the fries or the bread. I love creole seasoning though and the Cajun chicken was really good. The water also tasted… odd. Our server was really good and nice though.

Ugh. I had hoped for better. Waiter was too busy. Need more staff. He was grouchy and not thrilled with his job. I made the mistake of asking to substitute mash potatoes for Rice and got the NO! And it all went to hell in a hand basket. Thankfully our guests were worth the visit. We will not be back.

They have absolutely delicious food. I tried the Riverbend which is a pastrami sandwich along with a Caesar salad with a Hypnotiq martini I believe. The food and drink were absolutely perfect. I am looking forward to coming back to try more items on their menu. I ordered a carry out for my boyfriend who was sick and the food was made well and quickly. I would definitely go back. I’m looking forward to coming back to the restaurant during the summer so I can check out their balcony on the 3rd floor. I’ve heard you can see the river from that floor.

I expected more based on the description and location even with 3 stars on Unilocal the menu looked promising. The plus was the staff was friendly. The minus was the food: house salad was iceberg lettuce with cheese, croutons and tomato. I ordered oil and vinegar the oil was vegetable oil not olive oil and when I went to pour the vinegar a giant clump/string of something came out the top. Pork tenderloin had raspberry sauce sounded very promising and how can you mess up pork tenderloin, it was dry, overcooked and although it was supposed to be a raspberry jelly it tasted like horseradish.

Total ripoff, tourist trap, avoid! My family has eaten here off and on over the years. upon our last visit, we noticed the prices have crept up across the board. My wife ordered the nachos, my kids ordered kids meals plus a drink, and I ordered a half nachos and a French onion soup. The soup was one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten– no cheese melted On top even! The soup itself tasted like It was from a can and loaded with salt. In hindsight I should have sent it back, but our waiter wasn’t paying much attention to us. Whatever! Well the food came and it was mediocre at best. We had problems getting our drinks filled as well. The restaurant was not exactly packed so not sure what the problem was. Finally the waiter brought the bill and it was around $ 88.00! Throw on a tip and I ended up spending over $ 100 for a completely mediocre meal. There are so Many options to choose from in this area that we made a pact never to return to L&C’s ever again!

My wife picks this place out now and then… Much to my dismay. The food isn’t bad. It’s just the same boring stuff you can get at any other restaurant. Even chain restaurants have more exciting menus. that being said, The place is nice and clean and the service is always good. But if I’m paying sit down and eat prices I want something a little more interesting.

I found the food to be hot and tasty. I really liked the price(we didn’t order dinner entries especially for a tourist area.

Good service. Mediocre food. Pretty average overall and not an experience is like to spend my money on these days when there are so many superior choices.

Hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner here for 36 people and it was terrific! Our servers Jeff and Erin did a great job of taking orders and keeping track of our 2 alcoholic drink limit of 2 per person. I really appreciate how they asked my husband and I for direction at every course, and served everyone with a smile :) We had a great space on the upper level and it was a bit tight but set up nicely. I had the Medallion bacon-wrapped fillet with green beans and Caesar salad, and it was like cutting butter and cooked perfectly! I would definitely return here if I ever come back to the area.

I came here on a lunch break with some coworkers in the middle of a long day of training. It was suggested by someone more familiar with the area as a local staple. I like the atmosphere of Lewis & Clark’s, although it was a little confusing at first with the different dining areas inside and outside on different levels. Our server was courteous, but not too friendly; it seemed like she was having a tough day, even though it was only lunchtime. I ordered the eggplant stack, which was kind of like a sandwich, only with fried eggplant instead of bread. In the middle, it had spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, and Swiss cheese($ 8.99). It took longer than we expected for our food to arrive(we had a party of about 5), even though the restaurant wasn’t busy… maybe it was because we were all watching the clock to get back to work on time. As for my sandwich, well, I ate it. I was hungry and it was what I ordered. I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would from reading the description on the menu. It was hard to keep it all together and it just didn’t seem like the flavors were that great together. I would be open to going there again to see if a different dish would hit the spot for me and to see if the speed of the food coming up improves. It’s a 2.5 /5 for me this time.

We came to this place on a business trip and I was excited to try it because a coworker said it was pretty good. I was not impressed. The weather was nice so we sat out on the patio which was very pretty because you go a nice view of the Missouri River. We ordered the appetizer sampler which was ok. Come with mushrooms, artichoke dip, potatoes skins, shrimp, crab rangoons, and I think something else… It was a lot of options for only 14 dollars and they were all good. After we ordered appetizers they came out we ate them and waited another 30 minutes to order. I will say they only had one waiters and the entire patio was cool. They just needed more people. I had the mahi mahi with veggies. I literally got one carrot in my bowl and the rest was broccoli. The mahi mahi was so over cooked that I couldn’t even finish it. It had good flavor it was just way over cooked.

Have been going here for years — love their chicken-apple-bacon quesadilla and their white chicken chili. During the summer the balcony gives great views and the beer and breeze flow great together. Also like the creole chicken sandwich.

Well maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Fried mushrooms were just fried mushrooms over cooked with Colby Cheese melted over them. No sauce to dip them in. Hawaiian chicken was pretty bland roll was cold would not melt the butter and the red beans lacked and bunch or favor. The garden salad was out of the bag

Another months later review… It’s a pretty big place. Sit upstairs for a great view of historic Main Street. This vegetarian who isn’t that into salad had to choose between some three menu items. That doesn’t happen everywhere. I think it was a cheese quesadilla. Good mixed drinks at reasonable prices. I prefer the Winery of the Little Hills, but Lewis & Clark’s and Trailhead are both nice options.

By far the best place we have eaten during our trip to St. Louis. I rarely think anyplace is worth 5 stars but I nor my coworker could think of any reason to give them any less. Located in a cute historic district we were seated immediately in the upstairs area. Not too noisy but you could tell the diners where enjoying themselves. I had the chicken teriyaki with steamed vegetables and soup of the day… chicken noodle. The soup tasted homemade not sure if it was but tasted great. The chicken was moist and tender on a bed of rice cooked just right. The veggies were plentiful and also cooked right, often times veggies get overcooked and mushy but these where not. For dessert I had the salted Carmel ice cream with just the right mix of Carmel to ice cream. My coworker had the BBQ shrimp with rice and red beans with a house salad. She loved it all but warned the BBQ shrimp is spicy hot so beware. She finished with the homemade brownie ala mode and enjoyed every bite. What made the meal all the better was the terrific service we received from our waitress Sydney. If you are in the area check it out.

Stopped by Lewis & Clark’s this past weekend for lunch, was seated upstairs and have a nice view of the river. There is also a small 3rd floor outside patio, which would be great during the summer. As far as food goes I ordered the Chicken, Apple, and Bacon Quesadilla, which is a basic tortilla, with Monterey Jack, Bleu Cheese, Chicken, Apple, and Bacon served with Honey-Lime Sour Cream. I really enjoyed this however I could help but think that this was some standard bagged tortilla from the local supermarket. They really could have went above and beyond by offering something with a little bit more taste, it seemed to take away from what was inside the Quesadilla, all of which went together really well. After writing my review I was contacted by the owner for my opinion on the tortilla shells and how to improve the quesadilla, I replied with my thoughts. For that I am willing to give Lewis & Clarks another go, I wish more business owners were like the owners at Lewis & Clarks, they really do care about their customers thoughts and opinions, that earned them an extra star from me.
