Great, fun, authentic feeling Greek restaurant with live entertainment(belly dancing and guitar) and 2 for 1 drink specials. The employees get lively and dance around as well. Great experiences every time we’ve been but the belly dancer comes off stripperish… perhaps that’s normal though(THISISNOT A COMPLAINT).

Before writing a review I always enjoy reading the experience of others to see if they match mine. Only once was my review so on point with others who used a bicycle shop in Tarpon Springs. Please notice the review is missing(not my doing), because« Unilocal*» thought I should take the matter to court. I won’t even take the time to give you the name of this Cyclery on The Pinellas Trail in Tarpon Springs but do look for it. The only reviews that are real are the ones that give it a star. Quickly perusing through the reviews for Acropolis Greek Tavern I find that their reviews will be similar to mine. For $ 28.36USD we enjoyed a quick lunch before proceeding to pick up our rescue puppy at the Friends of Strays in St. Pete. Ice Tea, Soup, Special #1, and Korfu Chicken were promptly served by very nice staff. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. Being that this is my first visit to Acropolis Greek Taverna I hope that if I’m again in the neighborhood they are open to enticed us back in. I should expect to receive the same fine service by its friendly staff. Kudos to Brodie!

Food is good but server in very very bad. Not sure if the bread is good or not because we are still waiting for the bread to come out of the oven in 2 minutes. They do have a happy hour. Not sure if it is a good value or not because I guess you have to wait for happy hour to be over before you are offered a second drink. It really is to bad that this was our first visit because we will never know if there are improvements since we have no plans to ever return!

This has always been a great place for dinner, go there often… Had dinner there tonight and kinda worried there is a new manager or something has changed, no bread and the tea tasted like water…

Love this place! Generous portions, fresh ingredients, and really delicious recipes. When we can’t decide on what to get, we get the mix platter & the appetizer platter. My personal favorite is the dolmas. Their tzatziki is pretty incredible too. Fresh dill too. Oh, and they DELIVER! Bonus!

Excellent atmosphere, service and food! Great white sangria, amazing Saginaki, and I mixed it up and asked for the octopus appetizer as an entrée! No problem! Highly recommend!

My friend & I stopped by before our pedicures for some appetizers. I loved the white sangria and fried stuffed mushrooms! Absolutely delicious! Nice location and décor.

I went here with my family last night for the first time and I don’t think I have ever experienced such horrible customer service in my life. Not only was it painfully slow, but we had about 10 things go wrong during the course of our meal and a manger never came over once to apologize or help fix the problems. There’s plenty of other nice restaurants with much better food along Central Ave. in St. Petersburg. Skip this place and spend your money else. Drinks, Food, and service were awful.

I’ve been to Acropolis several times and have had average service most times. They are consistent with providing mediocre service. To be completely honest, their food has more character than their staff. Last visit was this weekend, brought my cousin here for his first time trying Greek food, only because Tarpon Springs was 30 mins away and this was 10. We didn’t get any utensils when we were seated, and when we asked the waiter for some, he said it was actually through hostess’ job. Ok so do you want us to eat with our hands? He took 20 mins to return to us with the check and then another 20 to bring us back a to-go box and our receipt. Bottom line: it’s cool the first couple times you visit, food is decently priced for portions, spinach dip is over the top amazing. Make sure you tip your waiters even if they’re shitty.

There is not much else in life that gets me as excited as acropolis tzatsiki and pita. Of all the locations I would recommend this one.

Only been here twice, but for me the music gets a little loud, long and repetitive. Makes it hard to have a conversation without yelling. Not what I’d expect to have to endure the entire time I’m there. Food was decent and fast served on a Friday night for the four of us.

First time here, ordered«seared» mahi mahi with«roasted vegetables». Fish was not seared, not fresh and overcooked. I would have rather eaten a McFish sandwhich. The veggies were so overcooked they were sloppy. I had one bite of each and then left.

THISIS A REVIEWABOUTTHEWASTEFULNESSHERE… not a commentary on the food… I come to work in St. Petersberg at the children’s hospital one-two times a month. I’m also a vegetarian and like the options that this restaurant/mini-chain has to offer. However, I ordered food was very disappointed, not so much with the food, but the gross wastefulness and lack of eco friendliness of the restaurant.(although i haven’t tried everything i ordered yet). I ordered spanikopita, dolmades and hummus. everything was in styrofoam and even the pita was put in two separate containers(why, why, why???).(4 styrofoam and one aluminum container with plastic cover… I gave the plasticware and napkins back).(i’ve had better spanikopita but am from NYC and Cali, so in general the food options are better in those places). It would be far less wasteful to wrap the pita in aluminum foil or the bread warming bags that are used in many restaurants. Styrofoam, really(is this the 1980’s still)? in a mini-chain where the restaurant could actually make a difference in environmental waste? Also, these restaurants are near beaches/bays/oceans with a lot of wildlife… these containers get broken and end up in the ocean and affect the natural habitats of these animals(tourism also brings customers to these restaurants). The aluminum container is better then the sytrofoam, but you could invest in the cardboard covers instead of the plastic. Also, instead of having the dancers/show at night throw and waste all the paper napkins, save that money and invest in cardboard to-go containers… From my understanding from conversation with the staff when i picked up my order, staff has actually quit because of the wastefulness of this restaurant… What a waste. I would have come here or ordered out 2 – 3 x a month during my work travel, but i will not be coming back until there is some consciousness in how Acropolis deals with take out containers and stops wasting all of those napkins for a performance(killing of trees and resources) unnecessarily. I hope this mini-chain makes a change, it is good for the environment and in the end better for business. you can actually make a difference on the planet with minimal change and cost.

First Timer. we came in 5ish(Happy Hour) on at Feb 5th2016. $ 3 glasses of house wine which was fine. Bread & Whipped Feta cheese was good. We started with the Octopus appetizer Yum. We split the Chicken Santorini which was enough for two. Waiter was good, attentive with water refills etc. The only problem that was encountered was that they mistakenly threw out our doggy bag or must have given to someone else. We received doggy bag of pasta Alfredo which we realized when we arrived home. All & All I would recommend Acropolis. The guitar player was a nice bonus.

Amazing. I got the salad with salmon, the salmon was juicy, not dry at all. They also had 2 for 1 sangrias when I went which was so good, I never tried sangria with grapes in it and it is excellent! The best part I think was the delicious bread get serve with this butter cream. Go. Now.

What’s happened? When I lived in downtown St Pete I used to come here once or twice a week. If I had visitors in town, I brought them here. I always enjoyed it as did all of my guests. I loved the 2 for 1 white sangria. Mmmm. Best sangria. But in the last 2 years, I haven’t loved the food. It went downhill. I was thinking that I was making a mistake of going later in evening and getting food that has been sitting around. We decided to come back here one recent weekend evening. Saganaki was awesome as always. Yum. I ordered a falafel wrap which wasn’t like it used to be. It was falafel & lettuce, with a small dallop of ‘pico’. It was dry. Very dry and boring. I remember it previously having onions and cucumber and tomatoes and some hummus. I tried my boyfriends fries with feta and they were as good as I remember. So the last visit was better than it has been, but it still wasn’t how it used to be. I’m hoping they are on an upward climb though! That hope and the amazing saganaki is what is keeping them in the 3 star range for now.

I’ve been to Arcopolis a few times now. I remember the Greek Salad being very good. The gyro is good. I love spicy food, so when I went this weekend, I ordered a salad with a little pepper next to it, presumably meaning it was spicy. It was a lightly breaded chicken that was supposed to be «zesty» over a mixed green salad. The breaded chicken did not have anything zesty about it, unfortunately. It was rather bland and on a scale of 1 – 100 for«zestiness» it was a 0. Besides that, the salad was ok. The service was great, but we were there at 5 and the restaurant was almost empty. Overall, Acropolis is ok. I would go there more for the«show» of breaking plates, etc… than the food. There are MUCH better greek restaurants around town.

Acropolis is really just… Average. I sometimes think most people go for the gimmicks — dancers on the weekend, the Greek dance the waitstaff does(plus the occasional drunk customer), and napkin confetti. They’re not usually busy during the day from my past experiences, but it still can have a bit of a wait for food. I used to swing by on certain nights when a friend of mine was dancing, but after she left the area I really didn’t have a reason. After the dirty dining shitshow a while back I actively avoided it. I found myself there recently though. I had a waitress who was nice, but not especially good. It took a while to get things(including change for a dollar to feed the meter) and she wasn’t really good at thinking outside the box with my lunch mate’s request. As with all of my previous experiences, my lunch(a salad) was average. Nothing really stood out, but I was hungry and I could put it in my facehole. I find it interesting that people always seem to send tourists/out of towers here. I’m not really sure I would consider it «one of those places» but maybe it’s the superfluous crap that draws them in(or gives people a reason to suggest it).

It’s a two star joint. You can come here for the ambiance, maybe do a little hookah, see some belly dancing. That’s as far as I’d go, really! That’s about it. Came in on a slow day, server was ok, but the food came out surprisingly slow. We ordered a good variety of food. Orzo was over cooked, Felafel wrap was too dry, no sauce. Red snapper was not well seasoned, tasted bland. Even the kids complained about the pizza. If anything kept it from getting one star it would be the beef Shish Kabob, it was perfectly cooked and had good flavor. That’s as far as I’d go. Skip.
