Let me start out by saying I love pizza! I regret waiting soo long to try CJ’s. My wife and I came in on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to find out it’s owned by a local couple and a Georgia Alum. We started with the greek salad which came with breadsticks and sauce. The salad was pretty good(just bc i like Italian dressing more than simple oil and vinegar) and the breadsticks were phenomenal. The sauce was amazing, great taste with a bit of zing. We then got a large deep dish(which is similar to a Detroit style not chicago) the crust was buttery and crisp. The cheese was loaded on and pure melty goodness. Fyi They put toppings under the cheese and sauce on top. The pepperoni was also quite tasty. The deep dish is definitely the beat pizza I have had down this way. Highly recommended.

Just ordered thin crust pizza. The crust was burnt. Didn’t look too bad, but you could really taste brunt crust.

Absolute delicious! Just ate there and took out 4 kids. Staying at Jekyll Island Beach Club and wanted something eclectic for the kiddos. Went to St Simon Island and saw the globe pix online. Yes we’ve been looking for globes all day and found zippo(expectedly so). BUT this place delivered. We got two pizzas and some pasta. I have one child who loves anything made of noodle and she got a mix of red and white sauce and some penne. The two pizzas were TODIEFOR. We got the BBQ thin crust and it was the most delicious taste ever. The garlic on the first bite was more than I asked for(in a good way — love garlic). The BBQ was a nice addition and then the sun dried tomatoes were the BOMB. So sweet! I highly recommend it — and the thin crust for sure. Kiddos got the deep dish with pepperoni pineapple and sausage. They loved it! Super thick crust fills you up fast. We also got the cheese sticks appy but not necessary. We took ½ of each pizza home. And yes — just two medium pizzas over fed 6 people. Oh and the owner was behind the stove cooking up the pizzas tonight. Not sure if that’s a usual but it was nice to see(his pic are on the wall so you know it’s him). 5 stars for sure. Don’t pass on this place! Don’t know what all this e NY’ers are jones’in for — it’s here!

Traditional Italian meets beach chic! Clever and fun atmosphere. Simple good food and huge portions on the pasta. Crazy good breadsticks.

I gave it a 3 service was great unfortunately we had a longer wait because they had only one waitress and it filled up quick. Pizza was ok sauce was bland so we added parmesan and red pepper and it made it spicy. Wife had the chicken parm and it was good the chicken was tender and the pasta was done right but we are snobs for the sauce. Need to add we are from Buffalo and we are also pizza snobs. It’s hard to find a good pie here in the south.

The place is very small and the food wasn’t all that good. I went there for a specific dish and they were out of it. Highly disappointing experience. I shared the deep dish pizza and it wasn’t all that good. The service however was great.

Not a bad pizza spot for this area. Love the atmosphere. Reminds me a lot of Mellow Mushroom in Jacksonville. Had a date bring me here because she lives in this area. Would certainly come back. Pizza was alright and service was good. Can’t remember the exact pizza we got. Not sure about«the best» pizza claims others are making, but it’s certainly not bad and worth a visit. Small little shop so be prepared to be close up with other patrons when eating.

The smoked turkey sandwich is to die for, and the pizzas are amazing. A must-go every time I’m on the island, it’s great for carry-out. The inside has a really cool feel to it.

Hands down best deep dish on the island. If you want thin crust go to Sal’s. Great atmosphere but tiny restaurant overall.

I’m still trying to figure out what we are missing with all these great reviews. Not good at all! Ordered pizza, thick and thin, cheese bread and salad. Nothing was better than eatable. Waitresses where great though.

Tastes much better than it looks! Sauce was tasty, toppings were good. Crust was inconsistent in terms of done-ness. We are spoiled from NYC area with awesome pizza so had fairly low expectations. Pleasant surprise!

Grabbed some to go calzones one night. Only took a little over half an hour. Greek salads were AMAZING, and the red wine dressing was good enough to drink! My only complaint is one of the calzones had bacon in it, and the person can’t really have bacon, though he sucked it up and ate it anyway!(Said it was delicious). Definitely recommend!

Possibly the best pizza I’ve ever had! The deep dish Cupid’s Delight was simply amazing. Never had a combination of toppings like that! The sauce was so divine, I could’ve eaten it alone with a spoon! Unique choices and unique flavor! Hate I don’t live on the island so I can eat it all the time! Will make our trips to the island even more exciting now, though!

Some people are either a fan of pan pizza(a.k.a deep-dish) or they aren’t. There usually is no middle ground. But if you are, CJ’s on St. Simon’s serves up one groovy slice. This place is the size of a shoe box and with the multi colors and all the psychedelic décor it looks as if a giant Jerry Garcia sneezed inside it. But if you aren’t a hippie this won’t bother you one bit, because after all, you’re here for pizza, just pizza. No peace or love, only pizza. Ok, maybe some love. And I guess peace never hurt anyone either before, did it? My group and I ordered up the«Cupid’s Delight» in the deep-dish. With its pepperoni, salami, ham, sausage, and Applewood smoked bacon, It’s a meat lover’s cornucopia. I thought this pie would be the bee’s knees. It was great, but it did not compare to our other two selections: the«South End BBQ» pizza and the«Magic Mushroom» pizza. Very pleased to see the«South End BBQ» had pulled pork donning its cheesy surface, but not just any pulled pork– Southern Soul pulled pork –my favorite BBQ joint in Georgia(I’m starting to feel like Southern Soul should hire me on as a fulltime spokesman). We also added jalapeño peppers as an extra topping and THAT was a good decision. It was a close call, but I think the«Magic Mushroom» earned my highest honors. Pine nuts, shitake mushrooms, red onions, Applewood smoked bacon and a pesto base sauce all smothered with mozzarella cheese. Go ahead and try to find one ingredient in that line-up that doesn’t beckon your jaw to yearn to be filled up with it, I dare you. And don’t worry mom and dad… this pizza is purely for medicinal purposes, with the only side effect being smiling faces and happy, satisfied tummies. The deep dish pizza here takes the cake. It’s saucy and soft up top, crispy and crusty on the bottom and it has a nice ring of caramelized goodness baked all around, just as it should be. I glanced into the kitchen on my way out and I think I discovered the secret to why CJ’s pizza is so unbelievably perfect: the pans. The pans were pitch black and covered with bumpy irregularities that appeared to have the consistency of road tar. Then I had an epiphany: «road tar isn’t an ingredient in pizza». That wasn’t road tar at all… it was years of built up and baked on pizza grease that flavors CJ’s pies and keeps them from sticking to the pan, similar in fashion to the way stone ware cook ware works. Well done, my friends.

My brother in law brought is here for the deep dish but we were in the mood for pasta which was cool because the make small size pizzas(which like more than enough for two average adults) My wife got the pasta marinara and I got the the pasta with two meatballs. We both got the small size and it was more than Plenty. Oh and the bread sticks with marinara are AWESOME! The place has a nice young eclectic vibe, you’re kind of packed in there but just makes it feel like a great local place. FYI my brother in laws deep dish looked deliciously made, he of course loves it.

I’ll be short and to the point. You want deep dish goodness? This place will categorically have it so u am giving it 4 stars based on that alone! You want thin crust, brick oven goodness? Go to Sal’s instead, CJs simply does not have a great thin crust pizza dough and their ingredients(mostly the toppings) do not taste as fresh! Service is efficient; not great but adequate. Their marinara sauce is quite tasty by the way! Overall not impressed but not disappointed either.
