Outback is going downhill. We have been eating ther since it opened on St Simons. The last time we were there, we decided to mark it off as a good place to eat(about a tear ago). We had forgotten! Went there at 6:25 tonite, June 4, and the place was about half full. We ordered a blooming onion(of course), then about 7 – 8 minutes later, we decided what we wanted for dinner. I ordered 6 oz steak, fresh mixed vegetables and a chopped salad; my date ordered shrimp fettuccine and a side salad. About 10 minutes later, we received salads. Asked about our blooming onion and was told they were backed up, so we cancelled the onion. Another 15 – 20 minutes passed and the food came. My steak had a lot of pepper but was good. The mixed vegetables(broccoli, carrots and squash) were ok although the carrots were tough and there were big stems on the broccoli and were hard to cut off. But the biggest disappointment was the shrimp fettuccine, which looked like it had been sitting all day and was stuck together. The waitress apologized and brought out the manager, who did not charge us for the meal although we had eaten the salads. We left very disappointed that it continues to deteriorate in food service and probably will not go back.

Two times recently I have wasted an evening at this abysmally horrible location. Both times at 6 pm and both times was told they had sold out of prime rib. I smell BS. Service was lousy on top of that. I ended up having a salad, the rest of our party suffered through lukewarm entrees. I left a $.05 cent tip and wont return.

Avoid this place, ate here on saturday night, order was wrong, food was over cooked and service was just poor. Manager gave me a blooming coupon for the one i never recieved. Went back on sunday just to see if there were having a bad night previously. No such luck, blooming onion was burnt and had it for about 5 minutes and entrée came out making the appetizer useless.

Great food. Anniversary dinner, staff was very pleasant. Got to have sneak preview of the«NEW» salted caramel cookie desert! This thing is awesome. Gotta try it. Didn’t have to wait long for table or food. Glad it is here. Props to the manager and staff.

Why go to a chain restaurants when there are many locally-owned restaurants around the island? Kim Jung-un loves this place.

Gave up on this place after several tries. Feature steak not so great. Staff has you on the clock so expect your enter a minute after you salad appears which is a minute before you beer appears. Maybe they get extra points for getting you out on time even though the place is half empty. Go to Benny’s or Bonefish.

We went in at about 9pm and there was maybe a half dozen people there. Great! No waiting! Wrong. After ordering soup and a salad, it took about 20 min to get the soup and that was only because we asked another server about it. It was then another 15 minutes before the salad came out. I had to ask for salad dressing, and that took another 10 minutes. After all of this, there want even an offer to compensate on the bill. full price for all of it. The service was absolutely horrible, stay away!

If you’ve had one Outback, you’ve had them all. The food is typically good, though every time I go there is one plate at the table that gets sent back because it is not cooked enough or too much. I ALWAYS order the prime rib, which is delicious… except the one time that it came and it smelled and tasted like it was an old piece of meat. I haven’t ordered it since. The staff is friendly.

OK, so Outback is a chain, but that should mean consistently decent food and service. Not the one on St. Simon’s Island! We arrived at 4:50 pm on a Sunday, and there were only a handful of other diners there at that time. We waited a full 10 minutes before anyone came over to our table. She was very apologetic, which makes me think our table wasn’t even her responsibility. Although she was very friendly and seemingly responsive, I can barely enumerate all the things that went wrong! We were never given silverware and ended up appropriating it(and napkins) for adjoining empty tables. Steaks that were ordered well done and medium-well, came out medium-rare and had to be sent back. An order of sweet tea was refilled with bland-tasting, watered down, un-sweet tea. we waited forever for the check, and then waited another eternity for the server to come back and swipe our credit card. I hate to think how this restaurant functions when it is actually busy, but I will never find out because I don’t intend to go back!

Great food and great service at this Outback. We usually do the call ahead seating, just to make sure we won’t have a long wait. I recommend the cheese fries, alice springs chicken and some of their really soft bread and butter. We also take advantage of Outback’s curbside service. It’s really nice after a day on the island to pick up a big meal from Outback and take it back to the house for a relaxing meal. If you are looking for a good meal try this Outback.

The St Simons Outback Steakhouse is located in Frederica Road near the roundabout. This is a chain and the food is fairly good. The Bloomin’ Onion is a true Outback original. Their special onion is hand-carved by a dedicated bloomologist, cooked until golden and ready to dip into our spicy signature bloom sauce. My two favorite steaks at The Outback are the Victoria’s Filet which is a tender and juicy thick cut filet. For maximum flavor, add a Blue Cheese or horseradish crumb crust. I also like the Teriyaki Marinated Sirloin which is a sirloin marinated, seasoned, and char grilled, then finished with a teriyaki glaze.
