Ate here a while back. My brother in law ordered from the regulars menu, not the buffet. He took one bite of his shrimp and immediately spit it out. He called the waitress over and told her the shrimp tasted like they went bad. She argued with him, telling him they were fine. He even asked her to taste it. She dud and said she thought it tasted fine. He told her he was not satisfied and he was not paying for bad food. She had the damn nerve to call the police, telling them we would not pay for the food when all he wanted was for them to make something else. That was the last time we went there.

I decided to go to King Buffet after I had finished working out next door(LA Fitness). The décor is nice and the place seems clean. meaning it is upkept well. not sloppy nor shabby/broken furniture. The buffet has a couple of islands with two more on the side and in the back. The two islands have the hot food while the one in the back is more the cold food(salad, vegetable, sushi). The one on the side has the desserts like fresh cut up fruit. One caution though is that there are two cuisines– regular American food like mac and cheese, french fries and Chinese food like Chicken with vegetable. I thought the buffet(food) was adequate though kind of bland. I wonder how they are able to make money during the week as I went there for lunch and it was not filled. Probably on the weekends it gets busy I would imagine. I would say if you want a variety(a la buffet) this is a place to go.

Okay, where do I begin. I was hesitant to go inside based off the previous reviews. However, this is like the only buffet in Stamford so I decided to try it out with my husband for lunch. I should have known something was up when they had a kiosk type set up at the entrance with bootleg wallets, purses, and other items. While we were being seated, I noticed the poor conditions of the furniture and overall items in the place. I could ignore all of the above if the food was good. There were minimal food choices and the food was old as shit. Food tasted old and questionable. Soup was def old too. Um after we sat down to try to eat something we immediately regret running out the door. We ate a few things, literally spitting every other item out in disgust. Even the hood spots are better than this. Beware. Eat somewhere else. Anywhere else.

For $ 14 a piece dinner, the food is not bad. Between Indian lunch buffet and Chinese buffet, you get 5 times more varieties at this place, that is just the business challenge. The other factors are quality and experience. This place is for budget families so you won’t find sophisticated clients like at other higher price places. Quality wise, it is B. So on balance, if you can at least eat at Chipotle, then this place will not disappoint you.

A huge downgrade from where the restaurant was even a year or two ago. Food is of poor quality & service is subpar. Even the variety in drinks is horrible. Overall everything’s changed for the worse.

I visited King Buffet in Stamford for the first time tonight and was extremely disappointed. It was one of the most expensive Chinese buffets I’ve ever been to, but had the small selection of any Chinese buffet that I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to many Chinese buffets. The service was weak and not very friendly. The selection was very small and a lot of the food was cold and looked like it had been sitting for a long time. It was also way overpriced at $ 13 a person. There is a Chinese buffet near my home that costs $ 12 and it literally has about five times as much selection(no exaggeration), including a large selection of sushi and a hibachi grill. This buffet was terrible and I would never return. It was, without a doubt, the worst Chinese buffet that I’ve ever been to.

Good for meal time. Good buffet selections of traditional and kid friendly foods. Not crowded, good wait staff watching over the dinning room. Bottomless drinks is a nice feature. Top off the experience with an ice cream cone to go. Well done

The best part of my dinner here was my orange soda. Other than that, the food and the customer service were bad. The waitress gave my bf and I a bad attitude when we asked to be seated. Then, she lazily served us our drinks. The food selection wasn’t big, and what WAS available were all badly seasoned. Even the ice cream was bad! It was already melting when it came out of the machine. By the time I walked back to our table, my ice cream was soup. Waste of money and appetite! Go to Kumo!

Food is good. Surprise to find hibachi at a buffet! So much seafood to eat! Will return again when I’m in town!

Ah the good ol’ King Buffet serving unlimited Chinese food. This has been around for as long as I can remember and I can even tell you that their food has gone downhill. Their food as a buffet is basically what you paid for. Their’s certain times when it’s good and bad too. Their service is something they need to work on. Yes, I am Chinese and the reason why I gave such a poor rating is as follows: –3 Stars for service and bickering about how myself and my family eat too much. Now what’s the point of a buffet? We only come during a holiday or family birthday. What did we do wrong? We always gave 20−25% tip. Now mind you that’s 5 – 7 of us. –1 star for freshness of food. So the final star is a gift that like I said, sometimes the food is actually good. A couple times I’ve gotten sick with food poisoning. So choose wisely people. Family and I have migrated to a new buffet on East Main St that opened up a few months ago called Kumo’s. Better food, better choices, and the word fresh exists. Plus their waitresses and waiters provide excellent service. So fellow Unilocalers, do yourself the favor and skip this joint. Stay away, stay far far away.

I went today and it was not as I expected. The food was cold and it was very bad. Not worth the money.

The food here is pretty good. For a Chinese Buffet of course. The one thing that makes me so crazy about this place is the SAME song in Chinese playing over and over again, the pissy wait staff, and the vacuuming. The music goes without saying. But I really find the waitresses irritating. They accumulate off to the side and chitter to each other loudly. When they’re not doing that, they’re rudely snatching away your plate. At about nine o’clock they bust out the vacuum and do all but ask you to lift your feet. I go here as sparingly as possible– but if you want quantity not quality, knock yourself out!

Is it a trashy buffet? No doubt… but it’s also kind of a tradition for me. The variety of food is actually pretty good and they even have items like Chicken Nuggets and French Fries which are bound to be hits with picky children. When it comes to their actual food it’s very hit-or-miss. Their General Tso’s chicken is incredibly spongy and it only tastes halfway decent if it hasn’t been sitting out for more than fifteen minutes. I usually hit up their imitation bacon wrapped crab meat, Teriyaki Chicken sticks and their spare ribs, with a bit of Lo Mein and Fried Rice on the side. Their fried chicken wings are surprisingly good. You can also get some questionable soft serve ice cream here too, but I believe it’s been tailored to be suitable for those who are lactose intolerant. While it looks good, it tastes like some weird pudding half-breed. You can usually cover it up in sprinkles or something to mask the fact that it isn’t really ice cream. The staff here is pretty nice though, they pick up your plates rather quickly and will help you out if you have any issues. The price is a little less than $ 10 a person, but if you plan accordingly, you can get absolutely trashed here and not want to eat anything else for the rest of the day.
