First time in Stanford and we went there for the good feedback. The place is hard to spot at night while driving. I wish they have a better road sign. Waitress Service is excellent. They have some crayons and coloring paper to keep my kid busy while I can spend some time focus on what to order. Food is OK because I tend to have very high expectation.

This is the BEST sushi I have had in Connecticut. We ordered the salmon jalapeño appetizer and a bunch of rolls for dinner and everything was perfection. The fish was so fresh and service was quick! My new go to sushi place in Stamford.

Great sushi! Excellent staff! Do not be hesitant that it’s in a hotel or that it’s kosher. Also, odd for a sushi place but the truffle fries are ridiculously good!

My husband and I are food critics — and I’m In love. I found my new favorite sushi spot and will even travel the distance from NY on any given Saturday night for the food, service, and experience at Soosh. The décor was beautifully done, and made it feel like a very upscale clean place while still having reasonable prices — and large portions! They also do takeout platters — which I’ve had as well(equally as fresh and delish) Between the two of us(me and my husband) we got 4 big rolls, 2 salads, and a few other sides on the menu — can’t remember names, just how amazing they were. We were seated immediately upon arrival, and the staff was friendly and helpful when choosing from the menu. Food came out soon after ordering, but we didn’t even notice the time passed because we joked about how much fun we had ordering and continued looking at the menu while our food was being prepared — too look for what we would order next time. MOSTIMPORTANTLY at a sushi restaurant: The fish was insanely fresh and the sushi rice was cooked to perfectly — just the right amount of chewy, warm, deliciousness that I was dreaming for. Owners visited us at our table and were sweet, engaging, and had a very pleasant time speaking with them. We were just passing thru Stamford when we found this place — but like I said, we will be traveling in from NYC on the regular to have a meal here. 4 thumbs up. :)

I was excited to try this place out because of all the great reviews. For the very most part it lives up to the expectations mentioned. The place itself is very hard to find because it’s actually in the hotel itself — so I circled around the block a couple times before i could actually find where it is. And even if you do find where it is good luck on finding decent parking– I went at an off peak time(after 2pm) I got lucky and found something real close. Moving along– the place itself is on the smaller side — but it’s very cozy and trendy so the vibe is definitely good. The service was good. Now for the food– The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because of their limited sashimi /sushi selection. They don’t even offer Toro or UNI — Which most other places have as a standard item on their menu. BUT– for sushi roll lovers they have an extensive list of choices for you! With that being said– the quality and freshness of the sashimi they DO have is outstanding ! The sashimi pieces they serve are a nice portion –size wise and price wise — for 3 $ u get 2 good sized pieces(of sashimi) I was actually surprised because for 3 $ most places just give you one piece — so that’s pretty amazing considering how high quality it is too! All in all it was very good experience — and I would love to come back !

Great little place. Quiet dining atmosphere with prompt service and friendly waiters. Food is great whether going just for sushi or for something more expensive, ie fish. Keep going back when I’m in the area.

Best sushi I’ve had in Stamford. Very hard to find, random little spot in a hotel. But is worth it! Very fresh and so worth it.

The first few times I went to Soosh the quality was fine for the price; however, it was my last two visits that the fish was not fresh and tasted very bad. The nori is also very chewy and difficult to eat, they need to work on their preparation and execution a little more. They may have just had a few off days, but it’s enough to keep me away.

Love this place. Small but unique menu. They have a seaweed Kanu salad which was awesome and great sushi. We sat at the sushi bar and everyone was so nice and fast. Prices reasonable as well.

Really great sushi selection! The wait staff was on top of things and recommended a couple good rolls to choose from. The price is pretty reasonable for the flavor and presentation.

Two words for you: TUNAPIZZA. Delicately sliced tuna on a crispy dough with cilantro, cherry tomato, and onion. Served with chef’s «special sauce». I can’t say enough about how awesome this meal was… My room mate and I spent $ 50 well worth it dollars on Soosh and we are now going to be lifers. She had a Teriyaki Salmon Salad as her entrée, and the small bit I had was incredible, as was the Spicy Tuna roll we shared. This is definitely more of a pick up or Grub Hub scenario as they are inside of the Crowne Plaza and there wasn’t much parking for patrons for the restaurant!

Soosh is very good sushi. I love that it is consistently good and seemingly undiscovered. My boyfriend and I have been twice and never had to wait to be seated. The sushi is always ready right away, and the servers are helpful about explaining items on the menu. The location is a bit hard to get to. It is actually connected to the hotel. The first time we went, my boyfriend and I walked through the hotel. That is completely unnecessary. You can park right outside the restaurant, then walk into the hallway connecting Soosh to the hotel, and then walk in! Way easier than it sounds. FYI: It’s Kosher sushi, which is something I didn’t even know existed but is just so cool. But Kosher means there is no shrimp. So for all you shrimp loving folks, like myself, this place will not have any shrimp tempura rolls. However, the tuna and salmon are great!

Arguably the best sushi we’ve had in Stamford. The place is a little difficult to find — right in the same building as the Crowne Plaza. The service was solid and the inside is modern looking. Owner was very pleasant as he came over and asked how everything was. Definitely coming back.

They catered my organization’s end of the year cocktail event and they were beyond fabulous. Plenty of food, plenty of options for the fish lovers and the vegetarians. Food was simply phenomenal and can’t say enough about them and their staff. Rica and her daughter are pros in customer service and I would recommend them for any catered event. From the dumplings, to the sushi buffet, to the amazing dessert, they do it right and they do it very well.

the food is surprisingly not bad, a little pricey but it’s worth it. Very good for a Japanese restaurant that’s owned by american.

We stumbled upon this gem the other night we were craving sushi. It was late at night and most restaurants were closed. We made it just in time and the owner was there. He greeted us and made us feel welcomed and at home even with a 2 month old fussy baby. There were not a lot of people perhaps because it’s hard to find but definitely worth the search! They had a variety of Kosher sushi. I didn’t even know such a thing existed. THe selection was great and the sushi was so fresh!!! We went with a couple of people and we all gave it a thumbs up. We will definitely be coming back and the price was perfect!

Excellent sushi with a nice variety even with the limitations of Kosher fish only. The tastes are just as good as the best of the sushi in the city. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It’s a shame there isn’t more space in the restaurant.

Small Japanese restaurant with modern vibe. This restaurant is kosher certified and probably had 25 – 30 tables max. The food was delicious — I had the Udon Noodles w/Salmon $ 18 and enough to easily feed two hungry people. He seaweed salad was good too with a creamy dressing. Unfortunately I don’t like sushi but my family really enjoyed their rolls! The presentation was thoughtful and pretty. The reason I took one star away is because the restaurant was hosting a jazz band on a Wednesday night and the band was uncomfortably loud, making it impossible to talk at dinner or even hear the waitress. We asked the waitress if they could play quieter and she responded agreeing they were too loud and informing us of numerous other complaints– but the band was quieted. The owner apparently didn’t want to tell them to turn down the volume? Other than the for the band– I would go back here to eat again’

If you are looking for a place that has Asian inspired ambience, this place is not it. My boyfriend and I ate here a few days ago. The sushi, at best, is regular good ol sushi. Nothing out of this world. We also ordered vegetable tempura that was regular veggies(no taro… etc, etc) with a peanut sauce that was pretty good. The prices were reasonable and on par with other sushi places including more expensive specialty rolls. I’m not saying this place is bad however I am saying that I feel like if you want a more authentic Japanese experience, you will not find it in between the Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotels.

We checked this place out after receiving a coupon for«a free sushi roll with the purchase of an exquisite roll or entrée» from the front desk at the Holiday Inn. As we were snowed in and dining on a budget, we figured what they hey — can’t beat free. So, we stopped by and ordered the following rolls: The Spiderman(as our«exquisite» roll), The Tri-Color, The Alaska, and The Spicy Tuna. Total bill came out to be a little over $ 30 with the tip, and we were both satisfied and full by the end of the meal without that icky bloated feeling; the proportions were just right. The service was excellent. Our waiter was nice and hooked my girlfriend up with rubber-band bound chopsticks after seeing her struggle for a bit, lol. He also presented us with a selection of sauces, including the staples of soy sauce and wasabi, with the interesting and welcome additions of a sweet sauce and a semi-spicy mustard sauce. They all went great with the sushi. Even for later in the evening(around 8PM), the sushi tasted fresh and good. They were a very clean establishment, and the chefs knew their craft. The presentation was neat with a solid balance of rolls and colors arranged in an inviting, yummy pattern. This was all very well complemented by the ambiance and modern aesthetic of the restaurant — the designs were colorful and funky fresh twists on traditional Asian furniture, like glass lanterns and colored window panels. The soundtrack of motown and R&B in the background was also a welcome additions. Overall, this place is definitely better than expected for an in-hotel restaurant, and for the price point, well worth your time. Happy eating!
