Worst service ever! Every single other bar has better service. Many of my friends have warned me about this and tonight I experienced it. The servers are very rude, condescending, and mean.

As of today, the G-Man is closed. The last-ever last call was at 2AM today. Overall, good riddance. On paper, this is actually a great bar for a college town. Some of the specials were unbeatable in town. But, the problem with this bar was the clientele and the fact that they catered to that clientele. It was a bar that was run to suit the Greek community.

Possibly one of the best college bars I’ve ever visited. How can you beat a 16″ pizza for $ 3 and cheap beer?! Top that with great bartenders. Will definitely be back…

Racist old bouncer wouldn’t let our clearly-over-21 friend into the bar. He wasn’t drunk, just black. Bouncer’s BS reason: friend’s temporary state ID, expired ID, and school ID weren’t sufficient to prove that he is over 21. Plus the fact that a bunch of law students(which he is himself) vouched for his age. Other friends came in with temporary IDs and passports. Bouncer was racist. Don’t give racists your money. Period.

GMan would be my favorite bar in state college because the drinks are cheap, and everyone is always there. BUT It is my least favorite bar because the STAFFISABSOLUTELYTERRIBLE, the girls are nice mainly but the manager/bouncer/bartender is the most rude and possibly racist person in the industry. Another male bartender said«I DONTGIVE A F*** ABOUTYOU» to some customer who was trying to order a drink while the bartender was doing something else. It is a commonly known thing among the GMan patrons that the bartenders are rude and just terrible overall. Drinks are cheap though. So i still go.

Went for dinner and I couldn’t cut the burger with a knife… Service was good and beer was good though.

I ate here eyons ago. I submitted a draft review on my phone… and wrote«Pineapple pizza» and 3 stars. So… that must mean I had a very mediocre Pineapple pizza. Apparently it wasn’t worth remembering.

Stopped in the«G-man» for our first afternoon location on our bachelor party bar tour. It wasn’t crowded, just another group of about 30 students on a bar tour. Pitchers of Coors Light were $ 5 so we ordered 13 pitchers for the group. Came quickly as did the food we ordered. The staff was fantastic and were happy to accommodate us. They put up with our crazy shenanigans after we explained we were there for a bachelor party and didn’t give us a hard time about getting a little rowdy. A few of us ordered food which was delivered quickly and hot, but it wasn’t the best. Typical college bar food. The bar was clean as were the bathrooms, although they were small. Would definitely stop in again.

The Gman is pretty much the most legendary bar at penn state. Walk in Any Tuesday, Friday or Saturday and you’ll find this place bumpin. The Gman is also the spot on Saturdays for game day if you dont have football tickets. Make sure to try their mind eraser or Long Island ice tea pitcher, for food pizza and wings are always a good call. The service here is top notch, be sure to ask for Dutch if youre grabbing a table or jenny if you’re getting served at the bar.

The G-Man is a shadow of its former self. The food tastes cheaper than it costs and you really have to wonder how an establishment like the G-Man can mess up pub grub. Next time we are back visiting Penn State, we won’t be eating there again.

This is a tale of two bars. That are actually one bar. But that one bar has no flippin’ clue what it is… Wednesday evening. I stroll into G-MAN and my jaw drops. The place is deserted at 9:45PM. Usually not a big surprise, but when they’re serving Leiney pints for 1.50, I expected to fight off hoards of people. I do not want to mention the karaōke, sigh. Just sad. Good beer = good tap lines, but beyond my taste buds, nothing else was jumping up and down. Saturday evening. Line AROUNDTHEBLOCK. 3 dollars just to get through the door. Masses of people crowding in for shots and beers. Whoa. Its loud. No chairs. No service. No floor. All I can see are bobbing heads. Both of these experiences might sound OK to you, I appreciate that. But for me, the G-MAN is a sad place lacking character. Sad, sad, sad.

Above average bar food and decent drink prices are the strength of the G-man in State College. I was here for lunch on a football Saturday and seated at the bar. The service was OK depending on which bartender was serving us. I am a fan of their wedge sandwichs which are a cross between a sub and a stromboli. When in town I wouldn’t hesitate to grab a drink or bite to eat here.

The best pizza I have found in town(not even their specialty). Try the meatballs if you like some seriously tasty saturated fat. The drink specials are great, which makes Thursday-Saturday a no-go in the evenings(if you value your hearing).

It’s your typical sports bar. A decent menu filled with a variety of options. You will almost assuredly find something that you like every time you eat here. I’ve been there to watch some games, and it can become a pretty good atmosphere. They filled to capacity during the Alabama game. But other times I’ve been there, its been completely empty. So it really just depends on when you go. A lot of people like going on Tuesday nights. Also, Team Trivia every Wednesday is usually a big hit.

Perhaps this place only deserves one star, but I feel a bit apprehensive of casting that judgement… I went to the Gingerbread Man twice. The first time was for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was alright. The food was okay. The service was passable. There just wasn’t anything that stood out, and I saw no reason to ever come back again. Nonetheless, I did return two years later on a Wednesday(?) night. It was trivia night, and that sounded sort of fun. My friends and I apparently arrived too late to partake in the trivia, but that was alright. We just thought we’d listen and hang out for a bit. The drink specials weren’t very special at all – cheap crappy beer for an alright price. The service was horrible though, and the atmosphere wasn’t very enjoyable. In between trivia questions, the MC blasted random music way too loud for any of my friends to be able to hear each other. I don’t know how this place stays in business. I would recommend walking across the street to The Deli any time of day.

Honestly, a bar that has specials that include $ 5 pitchers of Jack and Coke? And $ 1 Bacardi/bac-flavors drink specials? Holy college town haven, batman! Wednesdays seem to have both trivia and karoake which I assume get preeeeetty interesting. Drinks are strong, food is cheap(and served in mammoth portions) and weeknights aren’t too Frat-tastic. If that’s what you’re looking for, G-man is your spot M-Th. If you’d rather pop your collar and travel in packs of white-hat wearing bros, come in on a weekend.

The«original» Bill Pickles, so to speak. Public lunch/dinner catering to cheap students and families, changes into a packed bar at night. Unlike Pickles, lunch at G-Man is actually legitimate. Okay prices, used to get spinach artichoke dip and one of their cheap cheese pizzas. Typically walked out only paying 8 a person for 2 people with leftovers to bring home. The bar on the other hand is swamped with standard frat types during prime drinking hours with specials and happies that I can only assume were chosen by a schizophrenic. I mean, what the hell does«MOST» mean during happy hour? If they are insinuating that I actually ask a bartender what that means during a packed to death happy hour and understand them, they must be nuts. Regardless, specials are an overall meh. On the other hand, they do have team trivia twice a week. I’d say give it a look at least.

Wing night is on Sunday. Wings are half priced. Best Wings in town. But since they’re only open on home football game weekends, Sunday 11 to 4, they’re wing night is during the day. Even the employees were puzzled by this. They need a week night wing night — say maybe Thursday? Wing are regularly 70 cents each — and with the daily drink specials makes it cheaper than eating at Champs, Damons or nearly anywhere else in town. better than average, 4 out of five stars for the wings, one of my top three wing places in town, enjoyed the drink specials. Parking is located close and across the street making it more convenient than most other stops in downtown. update — don’t go there on Monday, you’ll be the only one there, they are closed.

Not a bad spot to start the night. The crowd at Gingerbread Man(G-Man) is boisterous(like most Penn State bars), music is good, and on busy nights, the entire place can get packed tight, including the dance floor. Last I checked, the dance floor was a rather small, slightly elevated, area in the corner. Service is friendly and fast, just like their bartenders! I’ve only ever been here for drinks late night. By the time anyone gets hungry we’ve moved on to another bar or end up at The Diner. I’m pretty sure that this place is a chain, but don’t take my word for it. There’s one in Carlisle and I heard there’s also a location in Lewisburg(Bucknell).
