Lobster House Joe’s

Heard great things about this place, I read reviews an decided to give it a try. I wasn’t that impressed, I walked in an was stared down by staff an the hangout that was near the entrance of the door, instead of being welcomed an seated.
OK so I guess it’s seat yourself?! I seat myself an about 3 minutes later the server brings the menus.
I ordered appetizers for my boys an 2 entrees, my husband wasn’t to empressed by the «Joes Special» it looked amazing but was very bland. He never complains about his food so the fact that he wasn’t impressed bothered me.
My food was okay I did enjoy it but I’m very simple to please pasta chicken some cheese I’m a happy lady, I’m hoping to give this place another try soon an hoping I have a better experience with both service an food.

I love the old bay crab there! But the problem is with the girl who takes the order! Many times she pretends that she can’t hear what I’m saying or she doesn’t know the address where to deliver! It’s around the corner! Very rude! Tonight my husband wanted to surprise me with my favorite food: only to find out that she put baked clams instead of old bay crabs! What a shame, we will not order or dine there ever again.

The service was good service and the fish were fresh.

I never had an issue with the taste or quality of the food.
Calling to pick up an order is sometimes a nerve racking experience, depending on who handles the call.
Once, while dining in, I ordered a tuna salad. It came with a medium sized tuna steak and a bunch of lettuce. I felt totally ripped off.

Great food great service great atmosphere. I don’t have a bad thing to say about the restaurant other than the fact that depending when you go then maybe a bit of a wait.

Excellent Spot! Had the best Date of my life here! I love it! I love the Old Bay Crab!

All the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Definitely coming here again.

Lobster is Delish… Prices are great… Doesn’t get much better… I like the laid back atmosphere.

For the last few years, we eat there once a week! Love the King Crab Legs, Honey Teryiaki Calamari Salad, etc. Great family place reasonably priced with great service.

First time ordering here and the girl on the phone was nice, the order was done right and the clam chowder was delicious. Unfortunately everything went downhill from there. For example the clam strips. They were too well done. They were so hard and the clam taste was gone since they were burnt. If I saw that come out of my kitchen I would bring it back to be re done. I would never serve something that looks so burnt. The poor clams looked black and so hard to chew. I don’t think I’ll be back here. This is what you get from Staten Island seafood. If you want people to come back you have to put time into your food guys !!

Great food and great service. If you’re into seafood and or pasta you can’t go wrong at Joe’s. The crab meat sauce is outrageous. Clams on the ½ shell super fresh. Steamed lobster superb.

Brooklyn has Randazzo’s. Staten Island has Joe’s. It really is one of a kind in this borough. Even with their expansion there is usually a wait for dinner (especially in the summer). It’s worth the wait. A large menu of fish and shell fish selections. There is also lots of daily specials. Really good sauce with the fried calamari or scungilli. My shellfish craving is always satisfied after dining here. Take out as well.

Let’s start off with the pros. One of their tvs had fox sports on playing the UFC fights from the night before. The shrimps were pretty good. The lobster was good, I guess that’s what matters most at a «Lobster House». Now for the cons. I ordered the Joe’s special which is apparently their most popular dish. The mussels tasted like they left the beach in there, the clams were a bit chewy, and as a whole it was just bland tasting. They even gave me Heineken light when I asked for Heineken. Blasphemy.

Lobster House Joe’s was so good I wanted to go back the next night and eat again! Our wait to get a table wasn’t bad as we could smell the deliciousness outside as soon as we got out of the car… oysters and clams on the half shell were fresh and superb, I had the fish and chips which was the Bassa fish and cannot say enough how about good it was. Joe’s special just looked too good to eat and tasted even better. Service was prompt and friendly, we will return!

I am not going to lie, it took me a very longtime to try this place due to its appearance. My parents were in town and my father tends to have a nose for the decent hidden gems. OMG… If you can get past the appearance of the place, the food is hands down awesome. Stuffed lobster is the way to go. Also my wife had the fried flounder and it was the best fried fish we ever had. The lobster is pricey but hey it is lobster. Staff is always friendly. Definitely one of my favorite spots on the island.

I recommend the lobster bisque for anyone with taste buds. Also, their wraps are simple (Blt along with what you ordered), but are well made and well combined with a sauce to complement them.

Very disappointing. I’d heard nothing but good this about this place so I was looking forward to giving the place a try. The seafood pasta I had that not was served to me fra Diablo and after a 40 minute wait I wasn’t sending it back. Unfortunately it wasn’t fra Diablo it was fra molten lava spicy hot. Management made no effort to alter the bill they just wanted to bring me a new dish. Pally, I’ve been in here an hour already I just want to get out of here and go get a real meal!

WOW, that’s all I can say!, well that’s what I’m going to say when it comes to food quality, food quantity, and the people who work here, However before the wow, was the other wow, that wow refers to the tight parking and the waiting for a table. Lets face it, in this situation you cant have one without the other. Parking was tight and the wait was long cause the place was outstanding. Yes the Parking lot is a little small, but their is plenty of street parking if you don’t mind walking a half a block. I ordered the Joe’s special, which I thought was very good, until I tried my dates Seafood Fra Diavolo and then I was in love. Don’t expect huge pasta side dishes, keep in mind its a seafood place and that where they keep the emphasis on. Im a regular guy and not into the seafood dishes, but its Friday, its lent, so here I am in a crowed seafood place, which was truly amazing. After two times here, I can say I was impressed both times and I will be going back for a third.

We always order the Joe’s Special from here & it’s actually quite filling for the price ($ 20) ! Very yummy also P:

I have eaten from this place at least 3 times now and I think its time to write it up.
When we visit our friends on Staten Island we pick up take out from this place, the take out is always fresh, everything seems to be put together and portions are huge.
The past Sunday we ventured out to eat in, its really kind of reminds me of cafeteria, no thrills kind of place, kids are servers. I guess due to that fact service is kind of blah, but its not that they do not try. I think management could pick it up a notch on their training. The food was same quality as take out, I love the Joe special that comes in a huge pot and just a mix of seafood, its easy to be split among two people.
I would say be hungry when you go there or take out, and its a very very casual place so don’t walk in and be surprised. Perfect for families with kids.
Perhaps the only think I do not like is the tomato souse which seems to be just all spice and no flavor.
