Food is disgusting I’ve given this place many opportunities. Their«ceviche» is not good, very little portion. way overpriced! Their chicken is Okay, but they charge you extra for more sauce. The service is what really kills it for me, the waitresses have so much attitude and all they do is chat with each other. I had no refill through out the entire time I was there. I tried their«tallarines verdes» they added feta to the top, which I have never in any other Peruvian restaurant. I asked them to remove it, instead of giving me a new plate I saw them pick out the noodles on top. Personally, I just don’t like this place.

Very surprised by this hole in the wall restaurant. The portion of the food was very large, and it was very delicious. The service was fast and courteous. During our visit there was a lot of locals coming to get their food to go in the place is quite busy. Will definitely return.

They have a wide selection of Peruvian dishes. It’s pretty basic as far as ambience but the food is good. I had the chicken Milenesa which is basically breaded chicken. It came with a choice of two sides all for about $ 12 for dinner. So not bad. My hubby got a chicken stew Peruvian style with a side salad and rice. I hadn’t been there in a long time. So I’m glad I came by.

Excellent chicken, juicy and tender and quite flavorful. The portion is huge and the price is great, what more can a guy want

I’m Peruvian and I was craving Peruvian food. I’ve never taken the time to write bad reviews until now. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for 11 years and I’ve never been so «frustrated» by the way the person in charge handled my situation. I know how these places have lunch specials and you would think the«lunch specials» are fresh I ordered the«fried trout» which is not trout by the way. The fish smelled and tastes so fishy that I couldn’t swallow it. No one came by to «quality check» the food. I got up and took the plate to the lady who was the cashier, asked for manager and she said there was non but she could help me. I shared my frustration and she had the decency to tell me that I should’ve told my server before I ate almost all of it. I was so mad! First of all it was«lunch size» i took ONE bite and couldn’t swallow it. I took a bite of the beans and need salt, she said costumer ask for no salt… Really? The rice was the only thing fresh and delicious. But just rice? And what she said was unacceptable. I didn’t care about not getting charge, I cared for them to apologize for serving an item that was not fresh and old, for acknowledging their mistake. I’m sorry but I will never be back here again. And to the chef, I hope you don’t serve expired food ever again

I love this place. It is in a weird strip mall that is a real PITA to navigate but the chicken is great, as are the sauces. The Yucca is unprocessed but is still tender and has a more rustic home cooked texture than other similar restaurants. It’s pretty inexpensive too, very inexpensive actually. There is so much more I want to try but so far I’ve only had the chicken, except for the time I surprised my wife a flan because she was having a bad day. She didn’t offer to share so I guess it was pretty good. I once stopped by to order a to-go chicken on the way to a friend’s house and found myself drinking beer and rocking out to some Spanish language crooner until my phone rang and I realized I was an hour late for dinner. This is NOT a fancy establishment but it is clean, friendly and a great value for a fast casual meal. The staff is always beyond awesome and who doesn’t enjoy laughing it up with a flirty Peruvian grandmother?

We love the food here its always delicious. The price is very reasonable, but someof the waitresses not all, are really bad. They seem more concerned in turning tables than giving the guest the best experience. The waitress plopped our food down and never said another word to us until she gave us the check. We have to wave her down to ask for more water. Same goes to the one in leesburg.

Got food here for the first time tonight. The food overall was good but there was nothing Peruvian about it except for the sauces they gave us. The chicken was not charcoal cooked. It was like rotisserie chicken. We wanted black beans but they didn’t serve black beans. They had white beans. WHAT?! The rice was just white rice nothing special. It was ok for $ 17 but not what I expected. Maybe I’ll try something different next time.

This is my first experience with Pollo Inti. Unfortunately my boyfriend and I got home a bit late and was looking forward to ordering some Peruvian chicken but our usual go to place, Pollo Peru, was already closed. We called in at 9:45pm, 15 minutes before this place was to close but the lady we spoke to which I can only assume as the owner was willing to wait for us. We got there as soon as we could and was pleasantly surprised at how nice, authentic and homey the restaurant felt. The lady had the order and she was just the sweetest thing. When we got home we were surprised at how much jalapeño sauce and creamy white sauce they gave us. Unlike Pollo Peru which charges extra for the sauce, they were pretty generous with the condiments. We ordered the whole chicken and it was great! My only complaint was that the chicken was a bit salty but the seasoning was good. I actually like the fried yuca a lot better than Pollo Peru. It was extra crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. I will have to come back another time to try the other items on their menu.

This has been a favorite spot of mine for years! Awesome rotisserie chicken with fabulous marinade and seasonings. Huge servings! Great pupusas and plantains. Salsa tastes great but a bit too watery, otherwise they’d get 5 stars! After eating this chicken, all other chicken will seem boring. So be forwarned!

My confession first: We went to this place just because Cerrito’s Pupuseria was closed and wanted to try out a new Latin American restaurant. Wife and I found this place sitting cozy in a plaza that also had several other good food options. The restaurant was 70% filled and a guy was performing LIVE in one corner(We loved his singing!) We ordered 3 dishes, Arroz con Pollo, Lomo Saltado and Pupusas. We didn’t enjoy Pupusa as much(maybe Pupuseria Dona Azucena has spoiled us). Maybe it was just us but we felt Arroz con Pollo tasted a lot like Chicken Biryani, which we DIG, and hence we enjoyed this dish very much. This dish was very well seasoned and the chicken was tender. Lomo Saltado was equally flavorful. We will definitely come again!

As a Peruvian immigrant, this place is as close it gets for authentic Peruvian food out in Sterling. Of course regional differences across Peru’s mountain communities and coastal desert areas each deliver unique twists and variances on many common dishes, and my family being from the two different regions provided me unique tastes to compare. Others have already commented on how good the chicken and Lomo Saltado(my 2nd favorite), but I will put in my favorite for the Seco Norteno, normally I have always heard called just Seco. Seco is beef stew chucks, cilantro — lots of cilantro to make a thick gravy with a tomato sauce base, sliced potato chucks, spiced with white or red wine vinegar, garlic, salt, pepper. Served over white rice. Here it is often a bit watery, but taste quite similar — very tasty and therefore my favorite dish. I would warn that the papa la huancaina is not very authentic in my opinion — rather weak imitation. Definitely not compared to mom’s or most recipes that I have used. Normally papa la huancaina sause is primarily created with a base of queso blanco(white farm — fresh semi-soft cheese), lemon/lime soaked chile yellow peppers, onions, garlic, olives. Sometimes they add evaporated milk to mitigate the heat from the chile peppers… combined to make a very unique and tasty dish, but alas this place’s version only has the hint of that flavor. There are several places in Falls Church and Arlington that craft a more authentic version. Beans, beans, like many local South American restaurants, they use beans as filler for almost all their dishes. Which is ok, I rarely saw that the few times I visited Lima, Peru. Still their beans are usually quite flavorful. There are Peruivan dishes that I miss that use beans, Onion/garlic marinated lima beans over Peruvian roasted pork, — very tasty. Lentil beef stew(heavy on the cliantro and garlic) with a fried egg on top… Can’t wait until the new Pollo Inti II opens in Leesburg, VA, only have to drive 5 minutes… gawd my waistline!

I LOVE Pollos Inti! I have been getting the ¼ pollo for the last ten years and am afraid to get anything else and not love it just as much! The chicken is perfectly cooked and so moist. The Yucca is very good and must be tried. Great for a quick easy carry-out meal that won’t empty your pockets.

The food here was absolutely spectacular! The lower 4 star rating is more for the décor, although not exactly«welcoming» for a native of the Northern Virginia eats, the food more than makes up for it. My orders were the cheese and bean fill papusa’s for appetizers. This was an amazing app as it came with what seemed I be coleslaw and red hot sauce. Definitly combine the 2 on the papusa’s as it really brings out the hidden flavors of the bread/corn meal. For my entrée I ordered the bistek lo pobre which consisted of salad, rice, fried plantains, flank steak(rather large portion) and fries(which is subbed for yuca). I must say, the flavor of the steak and rice was exceptional and I will continue to frequent here as I have other entrees and apps I would love to try.

At first glance most gringos, like myself, may look at this name and think International Chicken. They could easily continue with that assumption after walking in and finding a mix of plates from various countries not just Peru. You’ll quickly realize that Peruvian food is NOT Mexican food nor is it Salvadorian food. Pollos Inti actually serves a bit off each by the way! Though not related to the international aspect, the Inti reference is the name of the Peruvian god of sun and interestingly enough Inti was also the name of Peru’s currency in the late 80’s to early 90’s. The décor may scare off some of you but all the better for me! A friend, native of Lima, shared it with me and stated her family goes to PIR for authentic Peruvian Pollo. Knowing that they live in Fairfax and there are at least 15 other pollo places closer to them I figured I should give Pollos Inti a try! I visited PIR for its Peruvian offerings and was not disappointed in the least!!! I found a menu full of ‘platos típicos’(papa la huancaina, aji de gallina, cau cau de mariscos) and I went for the three latin comfort food options of Pollo a la Brasa, Lomo Saltado and Arroz Chaufa. Of course I wanted to eat all three plates but I couldn’t and I needed to share and have leftovers for a few days! Each dish seemed spot on to what my the Peruvian influence in my family made for many years. The Arroz Chaufa was loaded with chicken, spring onions with gentle seasoning and the rice wasn’t overcooked. The pollo was tender, skin crispy and the cumin flavor prevalent! The fries were fresh although the dipping sauce lacked a bit; too runny. Finally the Lomo Saltado was served fresh and the fries were not laden with the beef/soy sauce mixture so they didn’t get soggy! While some people think«Spanish Food» is «Mexican Food» is «Latin Food» remember the Brits have completely different food styles as we do even though we speak the same language. Pollos Inti sells some good Peruvian options I have not validated their Central American or Mexican offerings at this point.

Had a lunch date with my 10 yr old, she wanted McD’s and I said«no way». We chose to try Pollos International and it was a huge success! I ordered Pollo Saltado and my kid ordered a chicken quesadilla. They were both absolutely delicious. My kid said she wants to go there every single day to eat now. Service was very good and the food was delivered in an appropriate amount of time. Yum. Yum. Yum. Can’t wait to go back. Having a Peruvian husband, it is almost a must to be able to cook a decent Pollo Saltado. While my own is pretty good, it is nothing compared to Pollos Interanational. They put mine to shame. Well done Pollos International!

First time trying this place because we happened to be in the shopping center and had a craving for Peruvian Chicken. Upon walking in, we noticed it wasn’t your typical Rotisserie place, but a full fledged Peruvian /Central American sit down restaurant with nice restaurant style laminated quality menus. You can get your typical ¼ chicken and a side and salad for about 6 bucks… or you can try your hand at some of their authentic entrees to the tune of about $ 9 to $ 15 or so. Seeing Lomo and Pollo Saltado on the menu, I just knew we had to get it. I had heard good things about it before, but just hadn’t had the chance to get it elsewhere yet… so that decision was easy. For our other entrée, we decided to play it safe and see what they could do in the rotisserie chicken department. This was our first experience with Saltado and I’m now hooked. If you’ve never had Lomo or Pollo Saltado before, you should give it a try. It’s so much goodness on one plate. You have the perfectly sauteed veggies onions and tomatoes that have been simmering in some light but flavorful white wine sauce with hints of soy sauce… take all that and dump it on top of a pile of french fries(are you kidding me? Awesome) and then put a generous scoop of perfectly cooked white rice on the side. I seriously think this dish could fight for my favorite dish. Now, like I said, it was our first time trying Saltado… so I can’t say how it stacks up against any other place. but now I can confidently say if I see it on a menu anywhere, I will order it. So good. You should try it. The Rotisserie chicken was no slouch either! It was seasoned well with a nice crispy crust from the flames. It was a little on the salty side, but not too salty. Perfectly moist in the middle. A great rendition of Peruvian chicken. I saved the little wing for last… it was kapow! packed with flavor. I chose Yucca as a side and salad comes by default as the other side. The yucca was fried up fresh and hot, so couldn’t ask for much more in that department. The salad had some thought put into it… it had a good assortment of veggies and wasn’t simply a pile of iceberg. The ranch-ish dressing that came with it had a nice sweet tangy flavor and I used it all. It was good. Also, after you are seated they bring you out chips and salsa. The salsa was different, had a pickled taste to it, but we both enjoyed it thoroughly… In fact, when nobody was looking, I took down the remainder of it like a shooter. The chips left something to be desired, but we ate them all anyhow because we were hungry. They also bring out big squirt bottles of their green and yellow sauce for the table. Both of the sauces were tasty. Used them both generously. The staff was very friendly and inviting. When we had to take some some of the generous portions home they even offered us some sauce to go without us asking. A nice friendly touch. This place definitely exceeding my expectations and turned a simple craving for Peruvian chicken into a culinary adventure. Thanks Pollos Inti!

I’ve been on a pupusa kick lately and when I found out this Peruvian restaurant made pupusas I definitely had to try it. Seriously, the pupusas here are really good. A lot better than some I’ve had at actual Salvadorian restaurants. The way they prepare them is perfect. They come out hot and oozing with cheese and not overly greasy, at all. I like to come here for their lunch deal: 3 cheese pupusas(or pork and cheese) and a 16 oz soda with free refills for $ 6.49 + tax. A great lunch deal since the pupusas are a decent size and I get full after a pupusa and a half. The cabbage that come with it is the best I’ve had. It really goes well with the pupusas along with the spicy tomato sauce. The alfaores are a nice treat. It’s around like $ 3 a cookie but seriously worth it. The shortbread is super soft and flaky and the dulce de leche melts in your mouth. It’s probably better to eat with a glass of milk since it’s so soft and get stuck to the roof of your mouth, but really delicious. I would definitely recommend coming during lunch hour when they have their specials. I ordered the same amount of pupusas around dinner time once and it came out to almost $ 9 by themselves. I’m looking forward to trying the other dishes they have as well.
