I know this is a budget hotel, but the atmosphere in the room was just so dank and the lighting was rough. It was just not good. My friends stayed at America’s Best Value right across the way and their rooms were better for the same price.

The place was clean, stayed here for a two nights while the mister was in town. The people were nice but the place definitely needs some updating. The room we stayed in had a wobbly toilet and smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. I’m not sure what that is about but for the price and having a fridge in the room, we managed. Would recommend for people just looking for a cheap place to crash for the night with not a lot of expectations.

To be fair, I realize what budget hotel rooms are for. I book them often when in town for only one night, simply needing a place to store my things and crash for a few hours. Having said that, my stay at the Super 8 was laughable. The entire room smelled like atomizer(aka old lady cologne) which we traced to the comforter, and promptly stuffed it into a drawer. After opening the window and propping the door open with a shoe for hours, the smell never dissipated. The television would only work when the main light switch was on, and the back security door never latched… Just stayed open all night. The included continental breakfast contained plastic packaged«pastries,» white bread but no toaster, a big bottle of mrs. Butterworth’s(for what is not clear), and some milk sitting next to an empty cereal dispenser. But there was coffee, which got me through until I arrived in Hudson for delicious brunch. All in all, it’s what you’d expect from a motel, but a bit overpriced for how minimal.
