So sick about their closing — was a wonderful place to eat Where is another one like it in Sherman Oaks or Studio City? Where is the new one going to be?

It’s a sad day to be here on the last day of business for this long time establishment. I’m also looking forward to their new restaurant that will replace this one. Hopefully it will have an atmosphere just as great with the same awesome employees that made this place so fun to come to over the years. Bye bye my beloved monkey bread.

My family and I have been going to the Daily Grill for years and have always been happy with the food and service. That said the past few months, the quality of the food and the service have fallen off dramatically. Most recently we ordered dinner to go and my son’s chickens strips consisted of battered and fried pieces of plastics; which I can’t even begin to imagine what type of toxins are released into the food when that happens. We called and sent in photos of the fried plastic with no response other than we are sorry. We then hosted a 12 person brunch for the family and 4 of us became horrible ill after the meal. A fun way to spend the next 48 hours. Clearly this restaurant is going through horrible changes and with all of the great dining establishments on Ventura, I highly recommend any where else you will find better service and much better quality of food. I am sorry to say, the quality of food in this restaurant is horrible, the service is lacking all kinds of expectations and the food takes over an hour to show up. It is too bad to see a local favorite spot just crumble from poor management.

This was once a really good local(kind of upscale) restaurant. But now they’re closing to take another approach to this corner spot. I could understand that. What I don’t understand is they’re doing what they’re doing to this Daily Grille in the meantime. Our food was simply terrible. Cold. Mushy. Nasty. Just sad. Not a very classy exit. Grill Concepts, Inc.(the parent company) should be ashamed. They have ZERO respect for their clientele.

Food was excellent, big portion and came to the table HOT! Just like I like it. Service was a bit slow so the quick dinner we planned went longer than planned. I had the pot pie and it was huge. Parts of the crust was a little chewy and not flaky. I purchased the prixe fixe item which included soup or salad and dessert for $ 8.00 more. Too bad they are closing on January 3, 2016 to reopen as a seafood place.

Unfortunately this location will be closing for good in a few days. The food and service have always been excellent… although we’ve noticed over the past year that their prices have been escalating rapidly. There is another location on Hollywood Way in Burbank that we frequent often as well so while this closer location will be missed… I hope Burbank remains open.

First of all, let me say that I really like this place(although I’m sad that they just took my favorite thing off the menu). They have consistently good food and a nice atmosphere, especially if you sit outside. I had a very interesting experience there this past Sunday: I went to get a late lunch(2:15pm) with a friend and my son. I’m not sure what was going on, but it took 20 minutes to get drinks(iced tea, no bar), and another long while to get waited on. Our food arrived almost exactly an hour after we were seated, even though there were hardly any other patrons in the house. When we mentioned something to our second server(apparently there was a shift change, but our original server never said he was leaving), she brought over the manager. I was pleasantly surprised that the manager decided not only to comp our entire meal for the three of us, but sent us home with two to-go portions of their famous monkey bread. I will say, although the meal service was lacking, the general customer service was great and understanding. I will definitely come back again, and if the wait time improves, will definitely increase to a 5 star rating.

Great brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Never ending Mimosas and Bloody Marys for $ 10. Great omelets and fries for $ 12. Massive lox and bagel plate for $ 14. Many other great brunch things for under $ 15. Full Bar. Great brunch bartender Luis. Sometimes you may see people you know. I recently saw Captain Kirk aka Bill Shatner and NPH aka Neil Patrick Harris. Come soon because the place closes for a major remodel and upgrade on Jan 32016.

My boyfriend and I frequent this spot for their happy hour drinks and food. I always enjoy a carafe of wine while my beau enjoys their beer selection. The portions are generous and good quality for the happy hour prices. We usually split 3 – 4 appetizers from the happy hour proration of the menu. We always enjoy the tuna tacos but some of the other items can be hit or miss. Their portions of food are also generous considering the price. Make sure to specify upon arrival if you are looking for happy hour as its only available in certain sections!

I’ve been to the Daily Grill several times and have never been disappointed. One of my favorite dishes is the Pan-crisp Jidori Chicken on the 600 calorie menu. Service is pleasant and efficient. The wait staff has always done everything to accommodate requests.

First time at this Daily Grill – was excited to try this location out. Unfortunately, in spite of our party of five arriving after the lunch rush, we waited an hour to receive our meals, followed by further disappointment to find the salmon burnt. Hungry, we gave it a go, but the salmon was not worthy. We spoke to our server who offered to have it re-done, however we didn’t have time to wait again. The server insisted we allow them to prepare a to-go offering. Wasn’t exactly the best response, but we conceded. After a second talk with our server, she removed the entrees from our bill – AND the to go replacement(very nice!) Julio, the head chef came to our table & apologized, which was nice also. Note: checked our«to-go» recook orders & not burnt like the first, but overcooked

The picnic dinners are quite delicious and the portions plentiful. I went online and ordered from their picnic menu(a perfect idea if you are going to the Hollywood Bowl as I was). I chose the sliced filet mignon meal. It came with bread & butter, homemade potato chips, a shrimp platter, caesar salad, grilled vegetables with a balsamic glaze and a slice of key lime pie. Everything is put into separate containers and they also include all utensils, seasoning, napkins and a tablecloth. All of this is placed into an insulated bag. When I went to get the food a few minutes past the designated pick-up time, the veggies were just being grilled and I had to wait 10 minutes but I was then out the door and on my way to enjoy my meal with friends at one of the many picnic areas at the Hollywood Bowl prior to a concert. The filet mignon was medium-well but still tender and delicious(just not juicy at all). They didn’t ask how I wanted the steak so I’m guessing this is just how it is served for the picnic dinners. Everything else was quite good, especially the veggies. I also found myself addicted to their homemade potato chips which were seasoned well and had a nice crisp crunch. The side containers of raspberry sauce and whipped cream provided with the key lime pie added to the enjoyment of one of my favorite desserts. Parking is easy at the small corner strip mall where Daily Grill is located and the service was congenial(and humbly apologetic for the veggies not being ready on time). Thumbs up for the picnic meals at Daily Grill.

Came in just in time. Alex our server pointed out the sunset before it went down. The calamari is amazing and the prices are fantastic. Wanted to say if you come here sit in Alex section. He’s super fast, nice and a great attitude! Will be back soon!

Came a few weeks ago with the toddler and an infant. They sat us right away in a location where we could bring in stroller easily. Great service, yummy food, and we have a picky 3 year old. The fish melted in my outs, husband had steak and they recommend a very good wine. Our little one wanted soup and she got it while waiting for dessert. Unfortunately we found a small plastic wrapping in her soup. The staff put us to shame with their apologies and did not allow us to pay a cent for the whole dinner(over $ 150) I would assume. The manager, she was a sweet heart, would not accept anything from us. We tipped well and left

I have only been here one other time, many years ago and my recollection of it was that it was pretty good, but pricey. I remember you had to order your salad and side dishes separate from your main course and it could really add up. So tonight we went again as we couldn’t really think of anywhere else(we’re running out of places while our kitchen is being remodeled!) For a Friday night at almost 6 pm it was nearly empty, I was very surprised and that worried me. The menu didn’t have a lot I was interested in so I ordered the parmesan herb encrusted chicken with arugula and summer risotto. After pushing the expensive starters and turning them down, the waitress brought us some bread and butter. I love a good bready bread with a crunchy crust and this really fit the bill. But it had absolutely no flavor. It tasted like it had no salt in it at all… just a basic flour taste. Then they serve rock-hard butter with it that you can’t spread or you’ll tear it all to smithereens. The butter had no salt as well, so bland and bland. When our meals finally came I looked at mine, quite shocked. It was a dark pile of food, with a wilted pile of green and some chunky looking rice. The chicken looked like something you’d get at Norm’s instead of a pricy place like this. The coating was almost like an envelope surrounding the chicken, not really sticking to it once you cut into it. It had absolutely no parmesan or herb flavoring, it just sort of tasted brown. Again, no seasoning. The chicken was not a boneless breast like I expected to get, it had a bone on one end of it. It’s very odd to serve a breaded chicken dish like that(completely enveloped with coating) with bones in it. I’m not a fan of onions and thought I saw a big chunk of onion laying under the chicken so I pulled it out to set it aside. The waitress sees me do that and says, «What are you picking out?», seeming very nosy. I said, «oh, it looks like onion.» She said to remember to order it without onion next time and asked if it was okay to eat. It was. Turns out it was a chunk of fennel anyway. The arugula was god-awful…bitter, and tasted like they had just sprinkled it with straight vinegar. The«summer risotto» was not at all creamy like risotto should be, it was thick, chewy chunks of rice, again with no flavor whatsoever. It had a few sprigs of carrot and broccoli and something tiny and red, maybe bell pepper. I mentioned the bones to the waitress and instead of just apologizing, she said it was just a tiny bone at one end of the chicken and then asked if I wanted something else. Unless it’s totally inedible, I never send anything back. But for the price,(I can’t recall, but it was over $ 21 with no salad or side dishes), this food was very below average. I could almost hear Chef Gordon Ramsey yelling at them in the kitchen over the terrible, tasteless risotto! My partner had angel hair pasta and meatballs, he said that was fine. Based on this, though, and the extreme prices(it’s $ 7 for a side salad with a meal!) I won’t be going back.

The fish and chips are amazing here. I’ve been here many time, but mostly for breakfast. This was my first for a late night dinner and I was not disappointed. Parking is easy and the staff are very friendly. I’ll definitely be back here again.

Enjoyed dinner here with my son and his wife. We sat outside on the outside patio. We had an early dinner, so was able to be seated right away. When we were being seated we(as well as the hostess) noticed customers smoking in the sofa seating table beside us. I requested to be moved to a table farther away. She would not move us, but stated she would have the manager speak with them because smoking was prohibited. We never did see anyone speak to these customers and had to endure their rudeness of smoking hence the 3 star rating. When a restaurant doesn’t follow thru with their policies they don’t deserve higher ratings. I ordered Chicken Piccata ~ tender chicken breast medallions with a lemon butter caper sauce. It’s normally served with red skin mashed potatoes and a vegetable. I decided to skip the potatoes and go with two vegetables. The chicken was tender, and the caper sauce was wonderful, however the broccoli was undercooked and leaned more on the side of raw. The asparagus wasn’t trimmed appropriately and was very tough.

Stopped by one week day afternoon after work. I got the Idaho Trout with Peanut Coleslaw. It was on the«under 600 calorie» menu and was very good. The trout was grilled perfectly. And the coleslaw had plenty of peanuts and was creamy and spicy. The hostess told me that the happy hour prices were available in both the lounge, and on the outside patio area. So I sat outside on the patio to enjoy the warm summer weather and a glass of wine. There is plenty of free parking, just go down to the underground parking and get your stub validated. A very nice location, I look forward to coming back and trying more items on their healthy menu.
