The pizza is fine, but they do not want your business. The last two times I tried to order from here they did not answer the phone. It just rang and rang. If they are closed or not taking calls, they should put a message on their answering machine. Too bad since the pies are good. I guess I’ll stick with Enrico’s since they always answer.

Sturbridge Mass was horrible. The pizza had all the cheese move inwards so there was no cheese near the crust. The chicken parm sub was all bread with very little chicken. The worst thing was I emailed Sals home office and received no answer. That tells me the corporate office does not care and it is obvious the local place does not either..

We showed up a little before Sal’s opened for business, not realizing it since the door wasn’t locked, and you would never have known by the courteous greeting we received. The person behind the counter was exceptionally busy with orders(a good sign), yet he didn’t rush us while we placed our order. Our pizza was ready sooner than promised, and was absolutely delicious! My husband used the bathroom to wash his hands, and said the bathroom was nicer than the one he’d used at a wedding reception the night before — 5 stars all around! Highly recommend Sal’s pizza! The only drawback is that there are only a few tables for staying to eat, but it’s okay — they deliver ;)

The pizza is very good. Almost more importantly there is new management and boy does it make the experience of going here nice. Its got that small town feel where the people who work there actually care! Its my Sturbridge pizza place for sure.

Outstanding pizza! Fluffy thin crust, chunky sauce, yum!!! i also liked that our pie was cut into 10 instead of 6 or 8. Wish i had another piece right now.

The pizza, while LOADED with toppings, had basically no taste. The Staff, while kind and smiling were all slow and moved at the pace of a snail. Sorry Sal’s.

We ended up at Sal’s by accident… the whole no left turn thing in MA. We’re very happy we did too. A slice of pizza here is actually a quarter if the pie and it’s a good size pie. The BBQ chicken pizza has real chicken and not that formed crap. The cheese is a 100% quality mozzarella and not oily at all. The pizza sauce on the cheese pizza is on point too. The crust is crispy and chewy, a great mix. We’ll be back!

We got their pizza to go. Best Italian pizza we’ve had in a long time. Cooked great and all the ingredients were good and fresh

Awesome pizza, and possibly the best I’ve had in a while! I was working all weekend at an event next door, and got takeout from Sal’s on my first night. Well, I liked it so much that I picked up another cheese pie on the second night of the event! The box said something about being from Boston’s North End(«little Italy»), but to me, this is New York style. Crispy, chewy crust, lots of cheese, a little grease, perfect big slices to fold in half and take a bite. I think a large pie was $ 12 and some change. They also sell monster slices that are actually 2 slices put together, just like Angelina’s in Hartford. It’s a nothing-fancy kind of place that probably does a lot of take out and delivery. If I’m ever in Sturbridge again, I’m sure I’ll return!

First time trying Sal’s last night. Stopped in because they were close to Yankee Spirits. I was the only one there at 8:30 on a Friday night. I asked for a calzone with no cheese. I said this twice just to make sure. I was told 20 mins. 30 mins later its ready and when I get home I cut it open to find, guess what? Yes cheese. Lots of it. Very disappointed, kind of put a damper on my night. That was the first and last time I will be going there.

Very disappointed. We ordered delivery from the restaurant. And for the second time we were not impressed. The first time we were told 30 – 45 minutes. It took an hour and fifteen only after calling did we then get our food. The person on the phone told us «oh ya they are leaving now.» And on top of that the food was ice cold. We decided to give them another chance. Our food never arrived. We called an hour and a half later and we were told they lost our info and couldn’t find the number on caller id? So I do not recommend delivery.

After a long trip home from a lovely week in Maine, my friends and I stopped in here hoping for a nice lunch. We should have realized that a place that is empty at noon on a Saturday is not a good sign. We entered and were hit in the face by paint fumes — it had clearly just been renovated but yuck when you smell paint and not pizza. We were completely ignored by the couple of staff [owners?] standing behind a glass counter brimming with huge, thick-crust pizzas and other assorted items. We sat down, waited and then began to realize it must be self-serve. My friend went to the counter and asked if we were to order and serve ourselves and the owner/staff member said«yes, we do things informally here» and handed her take-out menus. First of all — «we do things informally here?» Not exactly gracious and also makes the unknowing customer feel stupid. Secondly, if you have a large seating area full of tables, why are you self-serve with take out menus? So… here we had rude owners, no service and an empty, paint-fumed restaurant full of already prepared food. We decide the owners don’t deserve our money and head to the Old Sturbridge Pizza place [formerly Georges], where we were also ignored for 10 minutes until we left. Lunch came courtesy of Burger King, where the amazing drive-thru lady brought us our meals to the car and chatted for a few minutes — about how lousy these two pizza places are.

Yes boys and girls, they really do deliver to Southbridge. We have had food delivered here a few times now. They are up front and honest with a long wait when ordering during peak times. I can live with that if you tell me ahead of time rather then blowing smoke up my you know what. Staff has been great. Ordering is simple now that they have me in their computer. Drivers know which door to use without having to spell it out with each order. Last week, our delivery person had trouble finding us. No biggie, the young man had the smarts to call and ask for help. The food gas been consistently good. We have discovered their bacon, chicken and garlic pizza and now have to order it regularly. We usually order the 19″ so we can have leftovers.

Good pizza with huge portions. The prices are also cheap. My only complaint is this place never really looks like its open from the outside. The windows are tinted so you can’t see if it’s actually open till you get close up. They don’t have an open sign or flag or anything which would probably attract more business.

Stopped in Sal’s for a late lunch and first time ever in a Sal’s Pizza. I had a large onion, pepper and I think mushroom slice. Worst pizza I ever had to be honest. It had little flavor and was hard to cut with a knife. I really wanted a large pepperoni slice but had none prepared although they offered to make one. What pizza shop does not have pepperoni slices? I have seen their commercials and have to believe other Sal’s are better than this joint. Papa Ginos has it beat by miles.
