Zantos

I adore this restaurant. I am a professional pastry chef, and come from a New York Italian family. Growing up in NYC, there were many family owned restaurants. The atmosphere at Zantos is always welcome and friendly… They remember their customers ! I really love their eggplant parm, and the sauce reminds me of my own family recipe. I don’t say that lightly, lol! Balance is just right. My sole complaint about the place is that, several times now. When I have ordered the cappuccino, while the flavor is good. There is absolutely no foam on top. Just a bit of fizz. Something so simple can make all the difference at the end of a good meal (which they have never failed to provide!). Guys, I hope this can be fixed!
your salads are beautiful, crisp and fresh with excellent blue cheese dressing (chunks!). The staff is always friendly, warm and very attentive. It would be great to have more traditional desserts, too. I believe the family is Greek. Why not show that off with great Mediterranean types of desserts ?
Either way, I would highly recommend :)

The sandwich I ordered was okay, but I was a bit surprised to learn a $ 10 sandwich doesn’t come with any sides whatsoever. My fault for not reading the menu more carefully. Can’t speak for the dinners, but wish I had ordered from three figs instead.

No matter how polite you are, no matter how much of a tip you give, if they assume you go to Suffield academy they will treat you like absolute shit.

I have only gotten take out from Zantos, and both times I have gotten the same thing, but it was excellent! In the past month or so I have ordered twice and gotten the eggplant parm (extra sauce!) and it was so good I ate the whole thing both times! I felt sick afterwards from eating so much food but it was worth every bite!
I will absolutely be ordering from them again in the future.

On our first visit to Zantos, rather than get creative, we stuck to the basics and ordered a margherita pizza. (Less is more, right?) I thought the pizza could have used more sauce, but otherwise it was fine. In a vacuum I would probably have preferred Harry’s BC or Tunxis, but for the price ($ 14 for a medium margherita), Zantos makes a solid case. Our waitress was friendly, and service was efficient.

The best food in town. I’m a regular and love it. The pastas and salads are my favorite and you can’t go wrong. The staff is amazing and makes you feel at home. My staple!

I’ve had dinner there twice. It is probably the best pizza/​Italian/​Greek restaurant in town. The décor is nice, the staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable. I had the baked Italian combo tonight and it was tasty and very filling. Not haute cuisine, but nice for a casual dinner.

The food at Zantos has always been delicious. The entrees and pizza are excellent and very tasty. The menu offers plenty of good choices, from steak to seafood, pasta, pizza and sandwiches. The wait staff is friendly and professional. The location is in a pretty dull strip mall and the décor is pretty plain, but don’t let that put you off — considering the food and the service, this is my favorite restaurant in the area.

Love the Asian chicken salad with Chinese noodles and that out-​of-​this-​world dressing. Caesar and buffalo chicken wraps are great, too. My son gives high marks to their chicken and linguini dinner. Nice, friendly waitstaff, clean dining room and bathrooms. Typical, consistent attention to detail that hard-​working Greek restaurateurs are known for. Will always return for more!

Wednesday November 28, 2012 630 PM middle point for dinner, nice choice, the staff was warm and friendly, knew the menu quite well, made some really good suggestions for the two of us. Great Flavors, portion just a tad small for price point, all executed just right. Service was right where it needed to be. Remember small family place, just the right feel for a midweek dinner out. Thank you for a nice evening.

This place never disappoints. If u don’t kno what u want to eat for dinner, u go to zantos lol. They have everything on the menu u could ever ask for: sandwiches, pasta, appetizers, bread, the selection is incredible. They also have specials which are amazing too. The staff is really nice, and we go there all the time. Highly recommended

Burgers are amazing and have that ‘grilled’ flavor. Wraps are great and pasta with carbonara and boullonaise (sp.) are also great. Service is quick, provide in house and take out. I would highly recommend. Seem busy which is a good sign. Only downside is a handicap bathroom/​toilet would be appreciated for mom. Waitstaff is informed and helpfull/​attentive.

My wife the cook won’t have lunch anywhere else. Good food and generous servings.
