Be careful with customer service, I had returned some items with gift receipt and a staff replaced it for gift card. When I tried to use it they advised me there are 0 balance. I called main office for this issue and they encouraged me and mailed to me another gift card I was so upset I found out there are 0 balance again… pretty hard to understand this kind of customer services and I never experienced this kind of problem from the other department stores.

Ann Taylor always has nice clothing. I love browsing all the fresh designs and details on the jewelry. Extremely friendly staff.

I am so very disappointed in the customer service I received today. I was shopping earlier this afternoon for a dress to wear to my mother-in-law’s funeral, and I popped into Ann Taylor at First Colony. While I was greeted by the two employees, that is where the customer service ended. I saw several dresses I liked and had my arms loaded down with about six dresses. Not once was I asked if I needed assistance nor if I needed the dresses hung in a fitting room. In fact, when I went up to the register to inquire about trying the dresses on, I was told to simply find a room that was open and I was free to go back there on my own… gee thanks! Oh, and I was the only customer shopping there! While I was trying the dresses on, I was not asked if I needed another size or if I needed any assistance whatsoever. The last straw was when I attempted to pay for the dress. The girl at the register began ringing up the dress, and I thought asked me where I would be wearing the dress. When I told her to my mother-in-law’s funeral, she smiled and said«No, I asked if you will you be using your Ann Taylor Credit Card today». I said no, and she proceeded to try and upsale me the credit card. Are you freaking kidding me?! I think the nice and polite thing to do is to show a little compassion and not continue with your mandatory credit care offer… how incredibly rude. All of this happened at around Noonish today, and it’s 5:30, and I’m still fuming mad right now. I should have just left the dress there and walked across the shopping center to White House Black Market… the customer service is so much better there. I have shopped here before, and the customer service is always less than stellar. Never again, I would avoid this store.
