So many beers… So little time! I love this place! It’s a great place to Hang out with friends and have a few great beers! Every time I visit Texas this is one stop I have to make! The few times that I have been, it has been crowded! But totally worth the wait!!!

Everyone of the three times I have been here, it has been a disappointment with the same issues occurring each time. Although the live music this time wasn’t horrible, it’s way to loud. This isn’t a concert venue, it’s a bar where people want to drink a good beer, and have a conversation without having to yell to be heard. The service was for sure poor as always. We first sat at a table and were greeted almost immediately and received our first drink within minutes. After that, at least 45 minutes went by without anyone coming back to our table to check on us. So we decided to move to the bar where you would think we would get some better attention. Nope, a good 20 minutes before we could get someone’s attention to get us another round. Eventually we decided it was time to try another bar and wanted to close out. I flagged one of the servers down who must have walked by us with empty glasses 10+ times to ask for our check. As soon as she dropped the check, she left. She literally dropped our check, went upstairs, got her stuff and left. We then waited another 15 minutes with our credit card sitting on the bar top waiting for someone to close us out. I once again had to flag someone down from across the bar to close us out. She seemed very annoyed and bothered by us asking her to run our credit card. Not a word, no thank you or sorry for the wait or anything. Not sure why we keep coming back, but I guess I just keep hoping it will get better, but it doesn’t. You’re not the busy of a bar. Get your shit together. Maybe a manager on duty would be a good start.

I enjoy seeing the variety they have here, and of course there are a number of drinks I’ve never tried before, so I will certainly be doing that. I had the root beer porter drink on my first visit, and it was very enjoyable. They have food which looks like it will be very good, but I’ve not tried any of it yet. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. The bartender on the first night routinely checked on everyone to make sure they were doing well and to ask if they needed another, so that was good. What I really like about the place is when you want to order a drink, they will first give you a sample to try and then ask if you want to have a glass of it or try something else. For a place that has a number of drinks I’ve never seen before, this is fantastic. Also good is that on the menu, they’ve listed the drinks in an organized way, and they also suggest what kind of drink pairs with whatever meal you intend to have. I’ll be coming here again for food and drinks ofcourse. I’ve mentioned the cleanliness, so I will also mention the spaciousness. Whether you sit at the table or sit at the bar, to me it feels like there is plenty of space to move around and relax without feeling crowded. So check this place out and drink responsibly.

Came here to watch a college football bowl game at around 6pm on a weekday. It wasn’t too busy as there were still open tables and seats. We sat ourselves and waited about 15 minutes before a waitress noticed us. She gave us menus, left, then came back 15 minutes later. I was pretty frustrated at this point. Friend ordered a beer and I got the pretzel. The pretzel was dressed with a strange oily glaze that was dripping onto the pan. The pretzel was room temperature and had no taste. It was huge and I only ate half. On top of the bowl games showing, there was live trivia. An amateur guy set up shop in front of the big screen and was announcing the questions over the same audio system playing the bowl game. It was horrible. We couldn’t understand what he was saying. Overall, not a good experience and food was bad. This may have been an off day so I’ll give this place one more try before deciding not to come back.

Disappointed. Normally great place. Not so tonight. Place was mostly empty. Was seated & waited about 15 mins with zero service. Politely got up & left. Advised staff in the way out I was going to eat next door as none there seemed to care about serving a regular patron. Very sad indeed. Now having great dinner & drinks at The Cheesecake Factory next door.

Came here twice but sadly don’t remember much on my first time(oops). Anyway, I came here with a guy friend and found that it wasn’t super crowded for a Saturday night. We got a table right away. A waitress did not take long to notice us and took care of us immediately. I tried the kravin’ pumpkin and based on the description of this beer, doesn’t taste anything like it but it was still strong and tasty. My friend ordered beer that has blueberries in it and it was quite refreshing and light! I ended the night with a linderman after my disappointing pumpkin one. We also ordered their pretzel which came out nice and hot. I only wished they have better choices on the dipping sauces. The best part of my experience would be the live music. Two gentlemen were rocking out to a lot of songs that I enjoy: Guns n Roses, U2, Journey to name a few. They were also nice to take my request to sing Bohemian Rhapsody and Creep. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves. Most likely be back when we feel like having a casual drinking night.

I don’t quite know what to make of WOB. On the whole, I like it: it’s got a decent selection of beers and I can almost always find something to fit what I’m looking for(style, taste, color). As someone else has mentioned, the beer selection is not quite as broad as you would think from somewhere called WOB: 54 on draft. It sounds like a lot, but if you like to stick to a particular style and try new things, you may be surprised to find yourself limited. The pub food is reliable, with a basic menu of fried appetizers, flatbreads, burgers, and salads. Somewhat predictably, the easiest comparison to make is between here and Flying Saucer, and IMO the two have different feels. WOB is generally where we go for Friday Happy Hour; Flying Saucer is my preference for an actual night out. WOB is laid back, it’s easy to get a table, the interior is very open, the porch has a bunch of tables with actual chairs(I hate benches. They hurt.). Finally, WOB has a smaller draft selection(about 54); Flying Saucer has closer to 80. The biggest downside to WOB is that the service can be really slow. Who is even taking care of our table? Is there service on the patio at all? Has the order gotten lost? Is the check coming, or??? Honestly, most of the time I really don’t care, because we’re there to hang out, and we’ve just learned to order when the glass gets half empty… As for the food, the pretzel is delicious, and(usually) baked nicely. The tater tots are good, but skip the cheese(it’s a weird, super-processed cheese…). My husband likes the burgers and flatbreads, and I’m a fan of the wings. They’re trying to do interesting seasonal dishes, but I haven’t branched out that far yet.

First time here. Decent selection of beers for someone like me who’s not all that into beer. I ordered the Chicken Pesto Sandwich. The grilled chicken patty was completely tasteless, so only the parts covered with pesto were palatable. I’m not sure if there’s a cook in the kitchen or staff just pull stuff from a freezer and heat it up, but please at least shake a little salt on the patty before nuking it. Overall good experience because I just wanted to get out of the house, drink something and watch a game. IF I ever come back I’ll probably go with pizza or something safe.

I had a good experience. The bartender was very kind and he showed us all the good beers. I had the St. Louis Framboise beer which was raspberry tart flavored, very delicious. Tried the Korean and dry wings. Be careful of the dry rub, they put a ton of it. Kinda felt like I was doing the cinnamon challenge. It’s a bit pricey, but I’ll return for more and hopefully when happy hour starts.

Went here on a Sunday mid-day. Waitress seemed interested with everything except getting us water, utensils, napkins, refills, more beer, etc. Food very, very good, inspired by German and American cuisine, but couldn’t wait to leave because of crappy service.

We came here last night and it was really nice. Casual, low key and had live music. They had a good selection overall, so I was really excited to try new beers. But whenever it came to they were out of a lot of the beer we wanted to order. I am giving them four stars though because every time I asked for a beer they were out of my server was super helpful(Aaron). He would recommend beers personally based on my preference, and didn’t hesitate to bring me multiple tastes of beers so I could choose. And when he didn’t know a good secondary choice he was on point to ask the bartenders and bring samples out. Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely be coming back to this place.

I love this place so much I try to attend this location at least once a week. Great environment and awesome beer. Most of the staff knows their stuff pretty well and can answer my questions and have the best recommendations based on my mood.

I’ve been here a few times. And each time I’ve been, I’ve always had a good time. The live bands r usually good. The atmosphere is laid back. They have a huge jenga outside in the patio area. I always play. Lots of tvs so I’d say it’s good to watch a game there. If you’re not trying to be mi vida loca and you are trying to stay local, hit it up. The food is pretty decent too.

The beer selection is underwhelming for a place calling itself the World of Beer. I could go go Flying Saucer and have a much better selection. That said, the food was good. I has the Chimay Burger and was pleasantly surprised. It was rather small, but it packed a punch. I’d definitely go here again for the food, but if you’re looking for the best selection of beer, this isn’t your place. If you’re looking for a nice selection of mostly Texas beer, then by all means try it out.

World of Beer has two locations in Houston, one in Katy and the spot I just checked out in Sugar Land. World of Beer is exactly what you’d expect from the name. It offers a wide variety of Top Texas Craft Beer as well as the best beer to be found from the finest breweries in the world! With over 550 beers to choose from, I reckon you’re gonna find one you like. World of Beer in Sugar Land is sweet, to say the least. It sits just steps from the First Colony Mall — which makes it a great place to hang out, watch sports, grab a bite and enjoy the best beer from around the world… while that special someone does a little shopping. World of Beer is not only a man’s paradise, but a favorite for women as well! Since my first visit, I have enjoyed many a Top Texas Craft Beer with female friends who would agree. The environment is open and inviting with a huge patio, a large bar area and high-top tables throughout. There’s no danger you’ll miss any of the sports action either. In the middle of the complex, just behind the stage, are a number of monitors that fit together to form a huge screen… the effect is incredible! There’s also high definition flat screens which can be viewed from anywhere in the place. This place is a must, come football season. World of Beer has a loyalty program where they reward you for trying as many different beers as you can. What a concept! You get to enjoy different beers from all over the world and receive gifts for doing so. Not a bad deal — and you even get a shirt for signing up! The knowledgeable staff is what makes the World of Beer a special place to enjoy craft beer. I appreciate the fact that every staff member has received an extensive education of the various brews being served. The staff can easily answer any questions you might have about the different beers and are able to offer great tips as to which one should be paired with any one of their good eats! Finding myself with a tonnage of craft beer to choose from, I ordered a Top Texas Craft Beer flight. This consisted of Karbach Hoppadillo, Saint Arnold Ellissa IPA, 8th Wonder Rocket fuel and a No Label Brewing El Hefe Weizen. All were great choices, for sure. The menu is certainly top notch as well. Along with my Top Texas Craft Beer Flight, I ordered the German Pretzel, the Margherita Flat Bread and the Sriracha Lime Shrimp Tacos. The German Pretzel, a giant Bavarian pretzel baked soft on the inside, crispy on the outside and salted, is a go-to here at World of Beer. It comes with your choice of mustard: Dijon, honey Dijon, yellow or spicy brown. I chose to get it with all of the above along with a side of House-Made Beer Cheese. Delish! I forbid you to eat this pretzel without the Beer Cheese; it makes this app into something extra special. It is suggested to pair the German Pretzel with a Pale Lager. Next up was one of my favorites — the Margherita Flat Bread: a delicious bread base spread with basil and pine nut pesto, covered with freshly diced tomato and mozzarella, drizzled with a sweet balsamic glaze and topped with fresh arugula. The flat bread was so light and crispy allowing for the full flavor of the sweet balsamic glaze to come through and mesh perfectly with those of the fresh tomato and cheese. This combo was extremely good and was perfectly paired with a Belgian golden. And last, but definitely not least, were the Sriracha Lime Shrimp Tacos. This delightful dish consisted of two beer-battered shrimp tossed in house-made Sriracha lime aioli, topped with roasted corn and tomato salsa, shredded lettuce and fresh cilantro — all packed into a fresh tortilla. The vegetables here are super-fresh making for a taco that is nothing short of awesome! Having lived in San Diego, I have enjoyed great Baja Mexican fare and these shrimp tacos are up there with the best. All in all, this dish is a wonderful choice to savor with an Imperial IPA of your choice. Instead of World of Beer, this place should really be named World of Beer and Good Eats! It is sure to become one of my favorite new spots to hang, for sure. There really is nothing better than spending Craft Beer Friday at a great craft beer joint which also serves good eats! If you want to find me, there is a good chance I will be at the World of Beer in Sugar Land! See ya soon…

I decided to try this place after taking a nice walk at Oyster Creek Park. I was really looking for some fried pickles, but also saw that there was a pretzel with cheese sauce. I got a raspberry brew that was pretty good and decided on the pretzel with the cheese sauce on the side. The cheese sauce claimed to be one made with beer. It really just looked like some fake cheese dip straight from a can. It didn’t have that brew-ish aftertaste like others I have either — it tasted like bacon or a hot dog. It was kind of gross actually. The pretzel? It was huge and awesome! Will here be a next time? Maybe. I can try the pickle chips like I had originally intended. After all, the brew was good and I could farm some R5’s while I was there.

Pretty neat place to hang out on the weekends in the Sugar Land. Great selection of beer(rivals that of Saucer in Town Center, but not as crowded) Always a live band playing when I’ve been here. Good food too– the big pretzel is perfect for sharing, hot and soft, with an array of mustards to choose from for dipping.

APPETIZERS: There was a wonderful selection of common yet uncommon appetizers. A friend and I shared the Sriracha Lime Shrimp Tacos(2 for $ 8) and it was delicious. I could compare them to southwest Bang Bang Shrimp. BEER: W.o.B. has a wonderful option to purchase«last-call» canned or bottled beer for $ 3. I had the Upslope Pumpkin Ale. The beer was a nice copper orange color with an aroma of pumpkin and pie spices. Watch out because 2 pints can really hit you if you’re not a big drinker. ENTREE: My friend raved about the Flat Iron Steak Salad(regular $ 8). It was nice but I won’t have it again. The house dressing tasted like Italian which was nothing special, the 5 small thin strips of steak were well done, and I learned that I don’t quite care for crispy garbanzo beans. SERVICE: The waiter was very nice and attentive before our entrée however, when we wanted more water and a side order of fries we waited and waited but he was hanging out behind the bar.

What a cool place for Sugar Land to have! Growing up in Sugar Land, before the mall of the movie theater existed, I’m always so pleased when there’s a cool place to hang out. We went one night to hang out with my siblings in town and catch up. There was plenty of seating inside and the selection of beer was fantastic. It was also a great place to watch the Rockets play. But then the performer went up on stage and it became way too loud to carry on a conversation. We went outside to keep talking, but the speakers are still pretty loud. Also, it was a bit chilly that night, so some heaters would have been nice. Seems like a nice place to hang out and explore some new beers in Sugar Land.
