Went with my wife to get some Halo Halo ice cream. The place is nice and clean and the staff is very friendly and located in a friendly neighborhood in Sugar Land. Finally a Filipino restaurant in a thug-less environment. They are tucked away in little shopping center next to Phở Noodle house, Ichiban Japanese sushi place, Ragin’ Cajun Seafood, Chang’s Chinese food, and some Italian Pizza place. Madness. First off, dad, the owner, needs to stop smoking at the register. It’s the only contrast to the clean environment. I stopped eating food at Filipino restaurants because I don’t like to see food sitting in steam trays drying up. I’ve never seen a Filipino restaurant with a steady stream of customers, like Panda Express, where the food is replenished with fresh food every few minutes. It would be better if the food was cooked-to-order. With that said, we ordered our ice cream and the cook asked; «Do you want a BBQ skewer.?» «…Maybe. Do you you have BBQ skewers?» «Sure we do…» «…Well, I don’t see any here on the line» «I can cook it for you in 5 minutes…» «…OK, I’ll take 2 pork please» So the BBQ skewers came out HOT and fresh. Delicious! Now That’s what I’m talking about! I asked my wife, she’s a chef AND from the Philippines; «…can you cook Filipino food on-the-fly like they do at Pei Wei?» «Of course you can, except maybe Adobo,.but…yes, it can be done…» Now I worked as a line cook at a busy Panda Express and an even busier Pei Wei so I would love to see this done in a Filipino restaurant. Hint. hint… to my wife. The Halo Halo was very nice, served in a LARGE container, very enjoyable. So, if you can make it down here, AND you can walk past the other restaurants jammed in this location, make sure you ask the dude in this restaurant, «.what’ja got cook’n in the back?..»

Went with my girlfriend on a Wednesday afternoon and the place was completely empty but also really clean. We stood there for 5 minutes or so looking at their food(and because nobody noticed us in the store). They have a breakfast menu and regular entrée orders. We both got the two entrée order for 8.50 each. My girlfriend ordered the pork sinigang and fish. She loved both of them and claimed it was better than Tony’s grill, another Filipino place we both frequent. I ordered the menudo and pork adobo both were really greasy and the adobo with a little dry but still good. Both our entrée plates came with a small cup of soup too, which was also greasy. Maybe it’s a Filipino thing? Overall, it was decent and I would come back if I was looking for some adobo or Filipino snacks. TLDR: food was ok and pretty greasy. Gf loved the sinigang.

I went to Baguio hut with my boyfriend on a weekday, and it was pretty empty. I chalked this up to them being fairly new, and not easily seen from the streets. We walked in, and stood around for a couple minutes before being noticed. I recommend them to get a louder bell on the door, so they don’t miss any customers. A lady actually walked in while we were eating, and they did not notice her at all so she just left. There was a good amount of options that were available. It was cold out, so I was really craving soup. Lucky for me they had two types of sinigang. I thoroughly enjoyed both soups. They were the exact amount of sourness I liked in my sinigang. My bf didn’t seem to enjoy his meals. It’s probably because he didn’t know what was in the dishes. As a Filipino, I really enjoyed my dishes. It tasted home made, and the owners were very hospitable. I would recommend this place, and hope they do well.

I love going to Baguio Hut! They have delicious Filipino food, and it tastes completely authentic. I enjoy the adobo chicken, and the sigsig. You can get a two item combo with white rice for about $ 10. They give you soup with your order and two scoops of rice. They will normally include a small brownie or a rice cake dessert with your order as well. They are conveniently located on highway 6 very close to 59. They are the only Filipino restaurant which is located truly in the heart of Sugar Land very close to the Town Centre. They change their menu every single day, and the food is prepared fresh. They now also have Halo-Halo. Haluhalo or halo-halo(Tagalog: [halo-halo], «mixed together») is a popular Filipino dessert with mixtures of shaved ice and evaporated milk to which are added various boiled sweet beans, jello and fruits. It is served in a tall glass or bowl. The atmosphere is casual, and they have an outdoor seating patio to enjoy your food. They are attentive, and I think the owners take pride and put a lot of love in the food they prepare. If you have not been here you should definitely try it!

Decided to check this place out during a weekday lunch. No other customers but me, well a customer was paying and walking out. Small place. Pretty much Lubys cafeteria style where you pick home style type food on display an entrée or two with a soup. Minimum purchase $ 10 for credit card so you gotta buy a drink. Meal is only $ 8.99. I got a ground pork with raisins, chicken curry, and a halo halo dessert…& a canned mango drink. The pork was good, chicken was ok, more bones than meat– not spicy. Has potatoes in it. The halo halo was more ice and milk and not sweet. Even the tiny scoop of taro ice cream was bland. The canned mango was bleh. Service was good –can’t complain. Not much selections at all. But I think the entrees change daily. There wasn’t any noodle dishes today(pancit?). Not sure if I’d be back. It wasn’t bad but there wasn’t much to be excited about. More like a home cooked meal my mom use to make.

Came in. For the halo, halo desert. It was OK, I had better halo halo before. The desert was to icy for me, not enough quality in this halo halo. Also, the place looks very dead. I was the only customer.

My son & I chose igado, sisig, beef sinigang, & boneless bangus(milkfish). All have fab tastes. My son, who’s downright critical when it comes to food, REALLY liked what he ordered. The lunch meal is competitively priced for the amount of food served… which is pretty filling. We were also pleasantly surprised to have a small cup of soup and a delectable brownie that came with the meal. We will definitely go back since the entrees vary daily. So, if you are craving for a particular entrée(like adobo, pork bbq, etc.), call them first before you go on that day you intend to visit. For my family, we will just walk in and find out then what they are serving. From our initial experience, we’re sure the entrees would be good.

We were excited to try this new place in Sugar Land. It was very disappointing! The pansit was dry and bland, the igado was so-so and we thought the price has much more than a regular lunch combo meal($ 8). Didn’t feel we got our moneys worth. Maybe will go back and try again since most reviews are 4 stars. Maybe…

For starters, they really need to consider to turn on the A/C or install some sort of cooling device because it was exceptionally hot in there which ultimately makes it uncomfortable to eat. The food here is mediocre and exceedingly fatty — ate the lechon, BBQ pork(almost like a sisig), and pusit adobo(which was overcooked). Their halo-halo was very delicious which was one aspect I liked. I don’t mean to badger this place especially because it’s fairly new, but they need to make serious changes!

New Filipino restaurant in town! Good location and restaurant looks clean. I got igado and tinola today and they were both delicious! The reason I am giving four stars is because their mango juice tasted nothing like mango. It tasted like powdered juice. If they served fresh juice next time, I’d change my mind and give them a perfect score.

By far the best Filipino food in Houston. Have tried many and this beats them all. A hidden gem.
