Awesome place. Bellying up to the very bar Butch Cassidy, and the Sundance Kid drank at makes you feel like a part of history. Oh, the food, drinks, and atmosphere are great too. I highly recommend.

I’ve been going here for years… and it has never disappointed me. It’s a short drive up Provo canyon to Sundance resort where it is located. The atmosphere is over the top. So cozy and quaint. The drinks are so yummy. I’ve had the moscow mule and this time I had a hot toddie and my husband had Irish coffee. I’ve been here when they had live music and the place is hoppin! I’ve looked at the food menu need to go back when I can stay longer. Your treated like a special friend or celebrity each time your there. Guess who I was with? I love this place and take my guest here to show off our wonderful state!

I’ve actually been here twice, but forgot to check in the second time. The staff is super friendly and attentive, the drinks are top notch and the food is good. The first time we went here we were out just spending a day up in the mountains. We started hanging out in Park City and decided to see what was going on up at Sundance on the way home. We decided a warm drink was what the doctor ordered. My Irish coffee was delicious and my wife’s hot toddy was just what she was looking for. My second visit was actually just a few days later while I was up skiing at the resort. Again the staff was fantastic and the ambiance was great. They have a small selection of local draft beers and the Hefe I had was perfect to go with a day of skiing. I wanted a bite to eat so the Chili seemed like a good bet and it was. Very flavorful and spicy. My only complaint and the only thing that keeps me from giving the fifth star is that it is a bit overpriced. I get that this is a bar at a ski resort, but while the chili is very good it’s not $ 12 a bowl good and the mixed drinks we had were similarly on the upper end of the price scale. But the draft beer is reasonably priced and it’s a great place to hang out between runs.

It’s always interesting for me to see what types of people decide to go to the owl bar on any given night. It is a cozy cabin with drink prices you would expect, overpriced. They have live music that is worth giving a listen to at times. Staff is usually inattentive or straight up ignores patrons. They don’t handle crowds well and expect normal tips for lacking service. It’d only be better if you could have the place to yourself, because it is a great place to quickly getaway from all the coocoojobs in the valley and reset. 5 stars for the ambiance, 1 star for the employees and that equals 3 stars!

Definitely one of the coolest bars I’ve been to in Utah. Nestled in the back of Sundance it feels private and cozy. The interior is seriously charming, and severely rustic. We came with a giant group(a bridal party) after the wedding rehearsal. We rolled in about twenty deep, and while I wouldn’t generally recommend coming with a group that large(orders are bound to be missed/forgotten and service is bound to be slow) they somehow they managed to accommodate us. Props to our server(sorry I forgot your name) who kept things super organized and created tabs for each party within the group so we didn’t have a cluster**** when it came time to pay at the end. Drink wise I thought the cocktails were pretty good, but not great. maybe like a 3.5÷5 and mainly because I’m a little persnickety when it comes to classic cocktails. I did find one I loved, which had Jalapeños, tequila, cucumber, lime and cointreau(so basically a spicy margarita) and I would highly recommend that one if it’s still on the menu. The food I thought, was really good though! We mostly ordered bar food(pizza, nacho’s, fried things) but it was ‘elevated’ gastro-pub type fare which was pleasantly unexpected. The nachos were gigantic, and I definitely recommend them as they come with both a cheese sauce and also just melted cheese. The pizza I ordered came with figs, goat cheese, prosciutto and arugula. The highlight food item though I think were the ‘Hot Damn Fried Dill Pickles’ which are pretty much everything I live for. The Hot Damn Dills are from a pickle company out of Park City(HeeHaw Pickle Co.) and I literally buy them by the boat load when I see them out here in California so I was blown away by the fact that they were fried and on the menu at Owl Bar. They’re ridonkulously spicy,(habeneros duh), but if you’re looking to grow some chest hairs after a bite def def def get these.

One of the best bars in Utah – easily the best in Utah County. It’s tough to beat anything Sundance tho. After a wedding rehearsal, a large group of us(40 or so total) headed to The Owl Bar and took over the patio. Maybe they’re not usually understaffed, but this night they definitely were, well, understaffed. Only one server took our orders and brought us our food throughout the night, so I can sympathize a bit. She was overwhelmed and overmatched from the get-go, but was able to overcome a few bumps(including a LONG wait in between getting our first drink and placing our food order) along the way. Anyways, on to the good stuff. Like the Drinks, Food, & Setting. What we ordered: +Beers(good local stuff on tap, solid bottle selection) +Craft Cocktails(all were awesome) +Nachos(HUGE) +Fig & Prosciutto Pizza(the gf’s order, which was actually really tasty) +Fried Hot Damn Dill Pickles(best fried pickles I’ve had, thick cut slices) +Garlic Fries(not my order, but I did help myself to quite a few) And that setting. Right in the mountains, in the heart of Sundance Resort. The patio is a cool spot, but I actually really enjoyed the décor on the inside – we moved inside after an hour and a half outside. The bar wasn’t big enough for our fraction of the group, so we swooped a couple tables and some extra chairs and continued chatting while watching a Real Salt Lake game. A couple musicians were setting up for a live set, but we left right before they started. You know, we had a wedding to make sure we got to the next day.

This is an awesome little find. I went here with a few buddies and we don’t drink. We actually went in for the food. It has a very cool lodge type feel in the bar. There is an awesome fireplace in the back room that gives some pretty nice ambiance. We ordered a few things and kind of shared them. We started with the fried pickles which were very delicious. We also got the garlic fires. They weren’t garlic“y” enough for me though. I wish they had some more flavor. We had the mahi mahi fish tacos which were very good. Not your typical white fish in these tacos, the mahi takes it up a notch. We also had some waygu beef sliders. These were very very yummy. A very cool place with good food and a great environment. Drive up the canyon and check it out.

My 2nd visit here and I love it. This little spot is soooo cozy with fireplaces inside and fire pit outside. The service was slow and slightly disjointed, sometimes I didn’t even know who our server was. The food on the other hand was delish! We had apps, soups and salads. The tuna app was very good and had an olive crust to die for. I also had a Caesar salad with salmon. Perfect. They have a full bar as well as beer and wine. There was live music as we were leaving. Great spot to grab a cocktail and enjoy some good company.

The ambiance is just… perfection. Who doesn’t want to go to a cabin in the mountains at Sundance??? WHODOESN’T?! The low lighting, the wooden everything, the antlers, the fire. I can’t even. The drinks and food are wonderful. On this particular chilly day, I got a hot toddy from the bar. It was sweet and delicious and warmed me to my core. This place is great for some warm drinks and food after a snowy day on the slopes.

When I asked the server for some virgin cocktails for some friends she rudely told me «everything needed the alcohol.» I haven’t heard that in any bar ever, from NYC to California. The music was too loud for conversation and the service was abrupt and rude. The hamburger I ordered was okay, but it didn’t make up for the poor service.

Beautiful bar, beautiful location. Perfect to grab a quick drink and let aching muscles relax after a day on the slopes. Lots of interesting cocktails at ski-resort prices. The wife’s herbal, flowery, sweet vodka cocktail was very complex(if less than a little strong). I read on Unilocal that a Maker’s old fashioned was only $ 6, but that was a few years ago, I guess… turned out to be more like $ 10. Plus, while it was quite large, it also tasted pretty weak – too much club soda for the law-limited amount of whisky, I guess. We didn’t have food, but the fried pickles and seasons nuts looked fantastic. I had really great service here, by a server who was doing a remarkable job tending to a bunch of tables at a busy time. I’d not worry about the«bad service» comments made by others months, or years, ago. If you’re OK with the prices you’ll love the atmosphere, service, and drinks. Absolutely worth a stop when you’re at the Sundance resort.

This place is incredible. It’s a total throw back from the Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid days. I’ve been here a number of times and I always leave impressed. From just a place to hang out and listen to live music to a place that warms you back up after a day in the snow, this place delivers! Their drinks are very creative and delicious. I’ve only had the bar food her so far, but it’s always been great. The nachos are enormous!

A great place to hangout while at Sundance Resort. The bartenders are friendly(as with the rest of Utah’s citizens), they offer local whisky, local craft beer, and Sundance label wine to taste. Don’t forget to ask for the spiced nuts!

Read my previous review for most of the details. There’s been an effort to improve the drinks and the servers have improved. I’m thrilled to be able to up my rating to 4 stars.

I love The Owl Bar. The drinks are pretty pricey but the food is great and the atmosphere is so awesome that it makes the price and the drive worth it. If you go in the off season Sundance still runs the ski lifts for mountain bikers but you can hop on for a round trip and it’s a beautiful way to kill an hour, especially after a yummy lunch at the Owl Bar. Make sure you try the Garlic Hummus and Pita, I could have eaten it all day and they made best Moscow Mule I’ve ever had.
