Botched our reservation when we vacationed there. Couldn’t make up for it as we don’t live nearby

A Utah treasure. It’s my dream to one day stay overnight here– well, at Sundance, in one of the cabins, for Thanksgiving, listening to the river, cooking our turkey, then stepping out into the mountains with our dog– but this is about the Tree Room!(Forgive me. All of Sundance is magical!) It’s been a year since I’ve gone, but it is worth saving up for. I remember every bite was close-your-eyes-and-let it-sink-in. Just gourmet. The décor and view are a million dollars. I felt so pampered; we often worry about being rushed out because we don’t drink wine, and might not be as profitable of a customer. But this was not the case for a moment; they even bring palette cleansers inbetween courses. You’ll leave with a happy stomach, taste buds– and finish it off with a stay. Sweet dreams!

The wife and I have been dining here for 41 years as of this writing. It goes back to when we were dating. We’ve dined here well over 100 times. I should have written a review here earlier, but my only meals have been with business groups, not just with the wife. The Tree Room has always been a true chef driven restaurant. That’s fantastic in times when you have a Chef that’s hitting on all cylinders. That’s not always the case. Unfortunately the times they’ve had the best Chefs, the Chef gets national recognition and the Chef is gone within a year to a bigger market. Nearly all the Chefs have stayed within the box. This is a Western resort restaurant. The menu reflects those sensibilities. Sundance takes pride — and justifiably so – in the sourcing of ingredients. They grow many of the ingredients themselves. We had not been around in a while because there’s been other options that fit our purse strings better, and it’s only been recently I could have the scratch to dine here again. The verdict … Solid food, but nothing that stood out. Minor lapses in the cooking. The sauces had less flavor then they should have. Ernest service, but not at the level of this level of fine dining should have. I appreciate that I apparently have excellent skills at picking good dishes. I expect everyone he serves does. I appreciate that he has dishes he likes better than others, and that he has endless curiosity about how much I’m enjoying the dish when I start eating it, while I’m eating it, and after I ate it. OK, I don’t and I don’t expect it at one of the States finest restaurants. At this point it’s not reaching the level that it’s handful of direct competition has reached. If the chef has changed since I wrote this, all bets are off about the quality. It may be back. I’ll update as I know.

The food is as good as you would expect. Perfect portions and flavors, fresh ingredients and not bad prices, considering. But the ambiance is unmatched in Utah.

Very classy establishment. Lamb is delicate and savory. Peach melba dessert = excellence! I took my son here to celebrate his 21st birthday. He was grateful.

Great food, quiet atmosphere. A Utah classic. The Tree room is a must whether you’re visiting Utah or you’re looking for a special night out. They always have their signature peppercorn filet that’s amazing and their chef is always inspired by whats local and fresh. It’s not a bargain, so go planning to spend about 60 $/person. It’s well worth it for a delicious meal. Portions are too small to share in my opinion.

If you have never experienced The Tree Room, you should! Incredible food and wine with beautiful presentation in a lovely, rustic, setting filled with native and western art, and a tree(of course). Our waiters Skyler and Reed were a delight! They spoiled us rotten because we were there on our honeymoon. Both were very personable and Skyler made excellent recommendations. We had the pepper steak, scallops, tomato bisque and beet salad for dinner with delicious glasses of Zin and Cabernet. For dessert we had the fresh berries with crème anglaise – yummy!

I am by no means a gourmet, but I must say that this was one of the premier dining experiences of my life. A reward for a job well done, my co-worker and I, who have been in Provo all week for training were told to go where we wanted for dinner. Live it up on the boss’s dime. So we took the SHORT(10 minute) drive from Provo to Sundance, and oh what a treat. Fabulous atmosphere, Robert Redford motif, and just fantastic food. Scallops over Escorial to start, a very hoppy IPA, and the pepper steak(a crazy tender filet over buttermilk mashed potatoes) and sautéed spinach was the perfect meal. the only thing missing was our spouses, but, what are you going to do. Our waiter was more attentive than any I can remember(Paula, think the polar opposite of that waitress at Bookbinders).

Amazing food and atmosphere. We had a tasting menu that I would highly recommend. From the amuse bouche to the desert everything was completely an amazingly delicious. The service was also very impeccable and they were quite attentive. This was a great place for our 10th anniversary dinner.

Nestled in the charming and romantic Sundance resort lies The Tree Room. Attention to detail is absolutely AMAZING throughout this resort(Thanks Redford) I could honestly get lost in the beauty of this place. Now, onto the food! The Pepper steak with chutney was absolutely DIVINE. Melt in your mouth good. Had the house asparagus soup and that was excellent as well. They offer gluten free options for the celiacs like me out there. However, I didn’t find the servers very knowledgeable about GF. For instance, they brought out my dessert wrong and salad incorrect. I would suggest talking to the chef here with an allergy concern

The restaurant was decorated beautifully and very cozy. But unfortunately the table that we we’re seated at was the one table that was in the middle of the restaurant, next to large parties and in the traffic lane where busy servers kept running by. We were on our honeymoon and my husband had made a point of speaking with the staff early in the day in person and specifically asked them to please take care of us as this was a big night for us. But we got no love. No love at all. Our table was so awkward and large. We couldn’t sit next to one another, hear each other speak or even hold hands. The tables next to us were boisterous in their conversation. All the food came out lukewarm, as if it had been sitting in the window waiting. Even our after dinner coffees were barely warm. We got out as fast as we could. Worst $ 200 dinner ever. Super bummed.

Had the most amazing food and service at The Tree Room after a Sundance screening at the Sundance Mountain Resort. Ben was our server and he’s a true pro. The food was great, but Ben truly made the experience unforgettable with his menu knowledge and personality. 5+ stars!!!

I now wish I would have never given anywhere a 5 star review except for this place. It is the perfect set up for me… quant it only seats maybe 40 or 50 people. I have heard mixed reviews on the food. However, I would say to get the recomendations and go from there. In this case the Pepper Steak was one of the best meals I have ever had. I also had the scallops, some kind of salad and a french pastry for desert. I just recently moved to the area but am quite happy with this place. 15 years of living in California and I have only met B list want to be actors. I move to Utah and who sits next to me my first week at the Tree Room? Thats right the Sundance Kid. Since I have only been here once and he sat right next to me I am guessing from past experience that Bob Redford is here all the time… Maybe not but I like to think so.

Had a terrible experience here last night. From start to finish– it was all bad. From the people to the food– bad. I had made reservations for the Tree Room earlier in the day with the manager of the Foundry Grill for that night, since the Tree Room only opens for dinner. Our party of five arrives on time for our reservation only to find out that our name wasn’t even on the list. Apparently he made it for the wrong day. NOT our problem. The manager of the restaurant and the hostess were super unprofessional and awkward, quite frankly. The manager just whispered to the hostess in front of me about how we are going to have to wait because they don’t have any tables for us. Instead of apologizing to me and speaking to me directly. They seated us about 20min later and from the start to the finish of our dinner there was plenty of open tables for us to have been seated all along. The menu comes and there is only about 5 entrees to choose from. Honestly, none of the entrees looked good to me. An appetizer of lobster risotto was what looked best to me so I ordered that. The waiter was a royal d***. Told me to my face that I wouldn’t be full– he was pissed I wasn’t spending $ 40 for an entrée, and only spent $ 25 on an appetizer. He was just plain RUDE and was SO obvious about how annoyed and pissed off he was. My BF ordered the peppered steak and honestly, it was not worth the price. Doesn’t compare to a Ruth’s Chris steak. My sister got the special which was a cauliflower soup and ate about 2 bites because it was just too rich for her. A good waiter would have noticed that she barely touched her meal and asked if everything was alright with her food. She was too embarrassed to say something so I told him she didn’t like it. He made some super passive aggressive comment about how he was gonna go right back in the kitchen and have a bowl for himself and see what HE thought!!! I was in SHOCK. He still charged her for her untouched soup, of course. I grew up coming to this place, and was SO excited to bring my bf and family here for a nice dinner. It was a TOTAL disaster. Will never EVER be returning.

Nestled in a canyon just 30-minutes from Park City is one of Utah’s best kept secrets; The Tree Room at Sundance, so named because a tall pine in the center of the dining room extends through the roof. Everyone in our party of six was overwhelmed by the preparation and presentation of our meals at this under-stated, yet elegant restaurant. Their rustic dining room is decorated with archival photographs that pay tribute to Robert Redford’s movies and his cinema colleagues.

We have made a habit of going to Tree Room. For nearly twenty years, it has been a treat my friends and I look forward to to celebrate our birthdays. We have done dinner and then a Sundance play, been excited when we have seen celebrities there(including the obvious one), and sometimes just eaten. But what we have always been the most excited about was the food; fresh, tasty, well-prepared and fresh. That is the hallmarks of our dinners at Sundance. We were VERY surprised when we went two years ago, and the experience seemed, well, normal. The food was good but pedestrian. The excitement was gone, and our annual B-Day Dinner seemed just ordinary and passé. So much so that we skipped our annual b-day dinner at Sundance last year for Grand America. We decided to give Sundance another look this year, more out of habit than anything. I am sure glad we did– the magic is back. The food is exciting again. The service above what we expect(and we expect a LOT from TR). The live guitar is a GREAT touch! Our dinner lasted 4 hours, but it seemed like only an hour. It was one of those special nights again, where it all just flows, and is so enjoyable. The chef made me a special dish for my birthday– something I requested beforehand. It was wonderful! And all our regular menu items were fantastic. If TR seems to have lost its magic recently, give them another shot. Its back! We just wish they would bring back the Garlic Mashed!

Eating at the Tree Room just prior to proposing to my wife was wonderful. The chef prepared our meals without flaw. Wonderful cheese and local honey selection, and the mango chutney was impeccable on my pepper steak. The vibe is very upscale while being incredibly intimate and relaxing. Seating allows you to sit beside your sweetheart for the whole meal if you wish. I am looking forward to making visits to the Tree Room a tradition.

I ordered the duck breast that also came with a confit, and while the breast was tasty, the confit was a little chewy. My boyfriends father ordered the pepper steak which I got to try a bite of and was absolutely delicious, and the bf ordered the boar rack and it was tender and juicy. Several amuse bouche at the start end and middle of the meal and they were all superb and unexpected. If I was in Utah again, and had something to celebrate this would be the where.
