My bf and I go here solely for the chicken noodle soup, it’s the only item we’ve tried. It’s super cheap, I think made to order(the noodles and veg, not the broth), not too salty, and a ton of food. The broth has a very nice, delicate flavor. The noodles are just the right texture/firmness. Plenty of chicken and veg, too. It did take a while to pull the order together, tho, so will try ordering ahead next time. The lady at the counter was super nice. Other than that, I’d say the food in the steam trays didn’t look too appetizing. May hv been out for a while. And the décor is on the blah side, but clean enough. Enjoy the soup.

Yeah, this was not a good experience. A co-worker of mine wanted to try this place because it is close to the office, and is Chinese«fast food». It is a little hole in the wall that was not at all busy and yet everything took forever. There were only two people working there(a lady at the counter and someone cooking in the back). It took 20 minutes for three of us to select our three items(like panda express style). The food was lukewarm at best and incredibly oily. I will def not be coming back here.

I literally work right across the street from this place. I was craving for chinese food and always wondered if this place was a hit. I finally decided the day was the day. Not too many options… And despite having read all the negative reviews, I decided to give this place a try anyways… I ordered orange chicken, salt and pepper chicken and half fried rice half chow mein for about 7.50 $ for a 3 item menu. The orange chicken is ok(but pans express’s is better) The salt and pepper chicken is way too salty. The chow mein tastes and feels overcooked. Both the chow mein and fried rice is lacking ingredients such as veggies and meat and egg for the fried rice. Like I said despite having read all the bad reviews, i decided to give this place a try because I believe something is always worth trying out and I usually end up liking foods that people say is not worth trying. But this place. I don’t think I’ll be visiting again. I’d rather visit panda express and put up with their pricey, skimpy portions.

Very friendly. Several quick items on the steamer if you are in a hurry and the one and two item combos are between 5 and 750 depending on how many items. I had the Mongolian beef over rice and it was excellent. I must remember to ask for spicy next time.

Expectations were pretty low, and met. $ 7 gets a hefty 3-item lunch. I got fried rice(seemed a little on the soggy side) Peking ribs(a little too much gristle, very chewy and VERY red) and broccoli beef(on the mushy side, and bitter.) Overall an unpleasant greasy smell. For comparison, I like Panda Express, and Express 7 on Whisman and Middlefield.

**Under New Management** This place, although simple and very authentically painted with stereotypical Asian décor… Has pretty decent food. Not your normal Panda Express, they have a very different approach to your average sweet and sour chicken, breaded in a different batter and crispy with a soft inside. I recommend the salt n pepper fish, peking ribs, and the chow mein. Their party trays are also a lot cheaper then the other asian places you would go too. Ordered salt n pepper ribs & egg rolls for 2 different parties and they were a great hit! On top of their food, they have a wide variety of asian drinks which I do enjoy. Soybean ftw!

THEYDON’T TAKEPRIDEINTHEQUALITYOFTHEIRFOOD. They won’t hesitate to serve you food that has been sitting under the heat lamps for many hours — stale and often pretty nasty. Would be dry if it weren’t so greasy. Cheap, though: you get quite a bit of food for the price and if you happen to get stuff that’s cooked recently it’s OK quality for the price(a bit greasy, but not terrible) Would much rather they increased the prices a little and cooked food in smaller batches so it doesn’t get so old and nasty.

Easy, fast, cheap chinese to go lunches. 2 items for only $ 5. They only have about 15 options, but fried shrimp(decent) and fried prawn(will try next time) are on the menu and everything looks pretty fresh. Also, they have chow fun instead of boring chow mein and fried rice, so that’s a nice touch. It was average only though, lacked flavor in the rice noodle. The owners are very friendly and I’d come back once a month for a simple Chinese to go lunch.

If you’re looking this up: Don’t eat here, it’s Dirty! I mean, I should have ran when I saw and pointed out to my friend the dead cockroach in their parking lot! The inside of the restaurant wasn’t much better. Their red plastic trays were covered with a layer of grease and their water dispenser looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months/a year. Then the girl getting my ribs for me dropped a few of the ribs on the counter. The gross part is that she still picked it up and put it on my plate for me! Why didn’t I just leave this place when I could have? Well, I came into this little«Panda Express”-like place with my friend because it was the only place open near his house on a Friday at 11:30 in the morning. I mean, we have already driven by this other BBQ restaurant that I wanted to eat at, but couldn’t because it already closed at 11. And since I hadn’t eaten breakfast yet, I really wanted to eat. The food? My friend complained that his fried rice was too dry, but he liked his deep-fried fish. My chow mein was over cooked and bland. The ribs I had with it looked great, but as soon as I tried it, the artificial BBQ flavoring hit me. D: I hate foods where I could taste the artificial flavorings! The only thing I liked was the beef n’ broccoli. That didn’t make me much happier because as I was driving away, I felt like I might as well have had eaten an oily burger. I couldn’t handle eating the rest of my food and threw half of it away. Needless to say, my friend and I won’t be coming back.

Ive driven by Chef Youngs for years. Today I thought I would give them a try. Chef Youngs is located in an older Strip Mall on Maude and Mathilda. Its a place that serves Chinese food off of a Steam Table and Fish and Chips Fresh by Order. I looked at the Chinese Food at it looked like it had been sitting out for a while. So I ordered the 2 Piece Fish and Chips which seem to be a safe bet since they cook to order . I had been dealing with the Owner who seemed to be really nice. Then his Wife came in with a frown on her face. She then started handling food on the Steam Table while wiping her nose YUCK!!! She also started to Snack on food while handling food YUCK!!! That really turned me off. That was not proper Handling techniques to do while handling food. Ten minutes later i got my Fish and Chips. The Fish was actually pretty Tasty and Fresh and the Fries were good. I wont be Back.

This place is nasty! OMG the Chinese food here sucks! My food was totally bland, cold, microwaved but STILLCOLD, the service is kinda rude, and the place is pretty small. I dont like the area around here anyway. There are bums walking in front of the store begging for cash, a recycling truck with a bunch of unhappy people trying to hustle people for cans… it just sucks! I ordered the fried rice, sweet and sour pork, eggplant, chow mein, and even peppered chicken. UGH! Its like they left it overnight and just tossed in inside the microwave. The food was bland and tasted like cardboard. The lady even rushed me and showed me attitude like she was miserable. GEEEZE get a grip and just serve the people good food. I suggest people not coming here for shit. Go to Wok’s On right on el camino! thats the spot for some real good chinese food!

I want to give this a one star so bad, But since I’ve been here at least four times, I’m in no position to do so. This is a Chinese take out place that is like a run down Panda Express. The first time i went here, I thought it was just alright. Nothing stood out. The second time i went here was with a friend and i remember it being rather terrible. So we pledged to never go here again. About a year later i told another friend about how lame this restaurant is. Since he didn’t believe me, we went inside and ordered some food. As we were ordering, an angry customer runs into the store demanding for a refund. He said, «I want my money back because this isn’t edible.» When the owners refused, the man raised his voice and said, «THISCHICKENHASMOREBONESTHAN A GRAVEYARD!» Eventually the owner did refund the money, but my friend and I were still standing there rather shocked at what went down. Of course the man was right. The chicken was all bones and rather nasty. So now i have 2 friends that can’t stand this place. Now it is 2011 and I decided to come here since i really wasn’t in the mood for the KFC nearby. The food was as bad as always. Even though I consider myself a big eater, I cant seem to finish the food here. It’s as if the chicken is dipped in mercury or something. It’s very heavy. The plus side to all this, is the owner seems nice and friendly. He even gave me some extra food as a thank you. But since the food is so poor, I’m not sure I want. Skip this restaurant. Try Wok’s On! on El Camino, or even Sunny Buffet further north on Mathilda. both are in Sunnyvale and are much better than this low tier restaurant.

Food is OK, not great, but their sanitation and attitude leave something to be desired. I noticed that the take-out chef understood at least some of the basic principles of food safety: when he brought out a full tray of food from the kitchen, he took out the old, near-empty tray, put the new tray in its place, and then dumped the older food on top. That’s the way you’re supposed to do it. But the servers(I think they may have been the proprieteress and her mother) did it the unclean way, dumping the new food on top of the old(which would tend to get even older before it saw the light of day again), reusing the same old, unclean tray. OK, but when I politely attempted to explain that they should do it the way the chef did, the server just looked away in the«Hehe we get the crazies here just like every place else» manner, and made some sarcastic comment like«yeah thanks for the lesson». You can be stupid, and you can be rude, but the two together is a bad combination. My last trip to Chef Young’s.

The owner was super nice and friendly. He greeted me with a big smile and charged me only $ 10 flat for 5 items. He told me his store has been open for over 20 years! I got the orange chicken which was good, brocolli beef, spare ribs, green bean chicken, and chow mein. Food is not amazing or anything, but satisfying when you’re hungry, don’t feel like cooking, and just craving some quick cheap Chinese food. It is like Panda Express(maybe a little less fresh), but a mom and pop version. Nothing to drive far for, but if you live closeby like I do, it’s a quick, cheap eat and a much better alternative than Mickey D’s or KFC fatness! It’s pretty hidden in the corner. It’s next door to the liquor store and in the same plaza as the Albertson’s and Bagel Street. Thanks to Unilocal I found a new, cheap eat!

Not the tidiest of places, but the food was decent and cheap. Would be willing to go here again if I need somewhere that was quick and easy. NOTE: Cash only.

This is one of those places that I’m embarrassed to say I’ve been to(multiple times). Maybe it’s the divey, not-as-clean-as-it-could-be setting. Maybe it’s the barely good enough Chinese food served from steam trays behind the counter. Or maybe it’s because it lies in the semi-seedy back corner(literally) of a strip mall. Every fiber of my being wants to give it two stars, but if it’s only two stars, why do I occasionally come back here? Probably because it provides convenient, cheap, quick food that isn’t McDonald’s or the like. What’s this? Someone gave this place 5 stars? According to Unilocal, this means«As Good As It Gets»(???) Yes. Definitely two stars.
