I should of just ate Panda. I had the orange chicken, rice, chow main and some kind of red pork. I only ate the rice and chow mein.

Too much MSG in the egg rolls. Couldn’t eat the veggie spring roll. Had to throw it out. Salt + MSG.

For what it is, a small, shopping center restaurant without any real ambiance, Joy Wok is a really good place. My rating is based on these types of restaurants only. Don’t mistake this as meaning I’m comparing it to an actual 5 star restaurant. I adjust my ratings this way with each of my reviews and I can see how that can be misleading. I rate places based within their categories. I live in the neighborhood and have eaten at Joy Wok many times and have probably had nearly everything on the menu by now. I can honestly say I’ve never had anything from there that I didn’t enjoy. I’ve always been greeted in a very friendly manner too. The restaurant is clean and the tables are well stocked, but it lacks décor. Meaning, this isn’t a place for date night. It’s a simple arrangement of tables and chairs. The food is very good and reasonably priced. If you are in the area and just want to get some good food quick, and are in the mood for Chinese, I recommend giving Joy Wok a try. If you’re in the mood for gourmet dining in a more formal environment, you may want to go elsewhere. As for me, I really like Joy Wok and will continue to go there.

The owners are always pleasant when I come in and always accommodating to my needs. Love their lemon chicken and salt and pepper fish. Service is slow especially during lunch time probably due to shortage of staff. If you’re planning to order something on the menu during lunch, be prepared to wait about 20 minutes for your food! Hot ready foods are always fresh during lunch so if you’re in a hurry, just get that! Overall, I will be coming back because of the service I get.

Let me just state this up front because I know some fucker without a profile picture(‘sup, Sam) is going to question how I can give 4 star reviews to a Chinese fast food hole in the wall neighborhood joint and a $$$ restaurant alike. Well, for me, the deciding factor is how well they do what they do. Was the food hot and fresh when I got it? Did I think it was reasonably priced? Did it make me have to shit myself afterward?(Notice I didn’t have any requirements about customer service cuz let’s be honest, what GOOD Asian restaurant is really known for that?) Honestly, I came here wanting nothing more than just-cooked lemon chicken(yes, I am aware that I picked the least Chinese dish on the menu) over rice for under $ 7, quick and(not too) dirty. And Joy Wok delivered. It’s no Great China, but I got what I wanted, so why WOULDN’T I give it 4 stars?

Once again Unilocal directs me to a place to eat. In town for work for a while and I need to find new haunts. This one I will come back to because it’s pretty good and inexpensive. I had the Wor Wonton Soup because it’s now cold enough to have it. Plenty of dumplings and pieces of brocolli, beef and chicken and a surprising number of shrimp too. No skimpy portions here. The soup is staming hot so I decide to tackle my fried dumplings while I wait for it to cool off. I think I got 10 froed dumplings for under 4 bucks and by the time I mowed through the ten … my soup was still too hot. after a little while I’m able to sip my soup without scalding my tongue and it’s good… I mean really good! By the time I’m done with my soup and all the meat, shrimp and wontons in it I’m in a food coma and happy as a little clam. All this. the bowl of soup and feast in it and the wonton appetizer for about $ 12 bucks! See you soon!!!

I love Joy Wok! Nice people, inexpensive food, plenty of tasty options, and it’s right in my neighborhood! I typically make my own rice at home, and on nights when I’m not up to cooking, I pick something up from Joy Wok. My go-to is the number 67, Mongolian Beef, extra spicy. There are plenty of other tasty menu items and I mix it up often.

Consistently delicious, high quality food and friendly service. I have eaten here many times and I have always enjoyed what I’ve ordered. The folks behind the counter seem to care about their job and the food is fresh and well prepared.

It’s a very simple chinese place, not restaraunt, more or less like a panda express, but compare to a lot of similar looking places, food was good. Not excellent, but not bad. Solid 4. I was considering a «3» because for that quality price tag should be lower, but decided not too. I wouldn’t go there again, for that kind of quality there’s always panda.

Neighborhood gem. Their soups are especially good: wor wonton(enough for two!), hot&sour, classic egg drop — and they are made to order. Don’t expect this to be an upscale restaurant: it’s not. But for a humble Chinese eatery, this is as good as it gets. Recommended.

I was pretty disappointed that this place wasn’t better. It’s within walking distance of my house and I so badly wanted a good chinese joint close to home! I had low expectations, and so I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered the vegetable with tofu and kung pao sauce– it was alright, nothing to write home about and insanely salty. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it is to never expect too much out of vegetarian options, and this place definitely lived up to that. I hoped the fried rice would be delicious, but it was really plain and had barely any egg in it. I can’t judge for the meaty options, I’m sure they have a lot more flavor. I’ll definitely return to try out their milk teas and cajun fries, though!

Recently opened so I decided to give it a go ! Very nice, clean and attentive. I ordered the General Chicken, Green Beans with Chicken & Angel haired noodles. Oh and egg roll. Wash it down with a nice Root Bear. Seem to have a really steady crowed from everyone that works in the area. My Order: I was not overly impressed with my meal. The General Chicken was tough and seemed to have been made a while ago, The green beans where very green but was not great. I’m sorry but would i go back … probably not. Even though this is just a block away from my work.

I tried this place out because we are currently looking for a new Chinese food place in Sunnyvale. We tried the following items: Broccoli Beef Chicken Fried Rice Fried Rice Chow Mein Sesame Chicken Sweet & Sour Pork All the items were very salty. I would rate all items a 2 on there own except the Sweet & Sour Pork that was definitely a 5! The cashier/server was friendly. The restaurant clean. The price was standard about $ 6.00 an order. Might come back, but I will keep looking for a great Chinese food place.

Im generally not a fan of the steam table buffet concept but what came on my radar was they have milk tea. Got a black milk tea and it was pretty decent. Friendly people and they got mu caffeine fix for the day. 3.5 stars

I had went to KFC for a To Go Cup. It was Ok but it Didnt Fill me up. So I decided to try Joy Wok out. I rolled in there and was greeted by a nice woman. I perused the Steam Table and decided to get a 2 item Combo. I Selected the Vegetable Chow Mein, Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork and a Spring Roll. I paid By Visa Card and Rolled out. I ate the food a few hours later. The Portions were good sized. The Food had good Flavor . I would eat there again.

Happy to have a new Chinese restaurant in Sunnyvale! Ordered a two item plate from them(comes with two items + rice/chow mein). They had run out of chow mein which was a bummer so I ended up getting orange chicken, Mongolian beef and fried rice. We were there for dinner so the menu was made to order versus having things pre-made(which I assume is how lunch is done based on their layout). Pricing was fair: $ 7.69 for a two item combo. Food was pretty good. Orange chicken was good and I would order it again. I think I would have preferred chow mein so I will try that next time! The two item combo is HUGE so come hungry or prepare for leftovers.
