Been a long while to find great mexican food at a reasonable price in Sunnyvale. Eat in, service is prompt and meals are hot when they arrive at the table. Even when the restaurant is busy, you get your meal fast. Pick-up(carry-out) is also quick. We usually order the combination plate.

Loved how nice and clean the inside is. The food and service were both to my expectations. Will be back.

Best enchiladas I’ve found to date since moving to San Jose from so cal. Shredded beef, chicken, and cheese, one of each please; so tender. The cheese one was so flavorful. The rice and beans and even the chips were top notch(and included in my to go order). If ever I’m in the area, I will stop in. Thank you!

Tia Juana’s is such an amazing Mexican restaurant!!! All of the food is authentic and on point. Everything is fresh and so yummy. I grew up with homemade Mexican food and Greg has one of the best restaurants. Every time I go in they always provide great service and I use them for catering often :)

I give it a 3 because my Tia Juana salad was sub-mediocre at best(maybe a 1.5), but the«real» food being served around me looked amazing and the service was fast and efficient. The salad consisted of a fried bowl(if you are ordering a salad for dinner, you don’t want this!) filled with field mix out of a grocery store bag and a very greasy and extremely tough and tasteless chunk of chicken on top with no sign whatsoever of the promised cheese. The chicken was difficult to cut with a knife, let alone chew, and much of it was so tough that I had to spit it out. The dressing was bland and the only saving grace was that I requested something with a little spice and they gave me a delicious orange pepper sauce which made the totally unpalatable salad somewhat edible(this was to someone who had not had time to have lunch! I was HUNGRY) So, my advice is that this is DEFINITELY not a place to go for light healthy tasty fare, but this review probably should not be considered by those wanting something substantive; my salad was truly horrible but the other fare looked quite good.

Best Mexican I have had in the bay. Frequent almost once a week. If you like spicy try their orange hot sauce, it’s awesome! Can’t get it anywhere else.

I visited them first time around September of 2015 and since then this is my favorite Mexican restaurant. Once you eat here, you can’t eat else where. Their Chicken Burrito is the absolutely best and most flavored burrito I have ever had. The Special Chicken Burrito with rice, beans, etc is awesome too if you have a bug appetite.

The best in South Bay. I always get their chile verde burrito. They don’t skimp you so if you eat as much as I do, you’ll have leftovers for another meal.(Not main pt of the review, but I love leftovers and they’re always good here too) My bf always has a hard time deciding what to get because everything is delish, but I always tell him to get the spicy chicken soup. The broth is amazing and the soup itself has a texture I love because of the rice and avocado. If you have a tolerance for extremely spicy, try their orange sauce. I’d happily give up some of my favorite things to have their recipe — it’s AMAZING. I’ve been coming here for years and always see the same awesome people running it. You know you can expect great and consistent service hence 5 stars.

We came here for a colleague buttday luncheon. We called for reservations for a party of 14 and so glad we did because it got busy really fast. What I swallowed: CARNITASBURRITO(all rice no beans): The meat in the burrito was pretty good and the burrito itself alright. It was a good burrito that came by itself with no extra rice or beans on the side. Service was quick and effective, although a smile wouldn’t have hurt. Overall: average.

For lunch, this place gets pretty packed. Personally, my first try here wasn’t great, and my burrito did not wow me at all. I’ve had better burritos elsewhere. I didn’t like how they cut the burrito in half either. I know they’re trying to make it more fancy, and probably want patrons to be using utensils… However, I like grabbing a hold of my burrito and conquering it! I tried their orange sauce as well, and boy! That sauce is ridiculously spicy! I’m pretty sure it burned a hole in my stomach, but that’s what was so displeasing. I felt like the sauce only made your insides burn, but there was not omg burn so good taste to it. The burrito definitely left no impression on me whatsoever, and I doubt I’ll be back.

I only had the tacos and they were average tasting. The Carne Asada and the Carnitas tacos were decent. The sizes were good for the cost($ 3 each). They give you complimentary chips and salsa. I think I will go back to try other dishes.

Pretty good. Got it delivered by doordash. Had the shortest wait time when we ordered. Tried the chimichunga, risy chicken taco and beef and cheese enchilada. All items were above average. Chimingunga was probably horrible for my wastline but very tasty. Will drop in to the restraunt next time since it was good.

Bottom Line at the Top: The Shrimp Cocktails were BLANDAF with weird shrimp. The Chicken Flauta tasted like a Costco taquito, and I’m pretty sure the Sangria was courtesy of Carlo Rossi. The Enchilada/taco combo plate sucked too.(How do you mess up an enchilada?) Worst Part: **They CHARGEDUSFORCHIPSANDSALSA!!!** At a Mexican restaurant. WTF? It was after the lunch rush, basically empty, and it took way too long to get our orders. WAY too long to get our check, and again let me reiterate that they charged us for the chips and salsa they automatically brought to our table. Over priced, less than mediocre food. Never again for this place.

The food and the service were excellent. Loved my chili relleno with extra veggies in the sauce. Enchilada was great too along with their yummy rice and beans. Place is packed for good reason and their prices are well worth what we got.

Pass by this plaza all the time and never knew this place existed. Was not expecting it to be so big and nice inside. Great place for lunch/dinner and they’ve also got a bar! Prices are a bit high, however if you just order some of the ala carte items it’s not so bad. They’ve got the best enchiladas, beef and chicken with the GREEN sauce is amazing! Their enchiladas are filled with meat and cheese and they’re probably the largest I’ve ever seen. I wasn’t a fan of the red sauce as much as it is on the sweeter side. I also got their chicken tamale which I thought was just alright. Free chips and salsa. Their chips are the super thick kind which is my favorite. Portions are definitely are on the larger side and they do not skimp on meat. Great quality and taste. Service was really great as well. Will definitely be back for this enchiladas in green sauce!

Hidden in lower rent area. Order off the menu. Best fish enchiladas I have found in Sunnyvale/Mtn view area. Not fishy, not overly oily fried where the fish is crispy vs. tender. Large portion sizes, hard for 1 person to finish. $ 15.002 Enchiladas…

First time here and was by myself, I was seated quickly and provided chips and salsa. I opted for the Tija Juana Salad with chicken It’s was a pretty good salad, a bit«dry» but that’s how I personally like it. It’s comes in a taco bowl and. While chicken breast. The veggies where fresh as well. The service was good a prompt. Overall this is a great place for lunch and reasonably priced

Excellent chips and salsa to start off with. We had our dinner within 10 minutes of ordering. I ordered the chorizo burrito(Mexican sausage with egg). The burritos come with guacamole, rice, beans, salsa, sour cream(the typical fixings), but I went without the guacamole and sour cream. The burrito was really filling and whatever hunger I had left in me was satisfied by the chips and salsa. Service was standard, but there were only about 5 other people in the restaurant. I would need to give this place another try on a Friday or Saturday night for a more accurate assessment. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the near future. The meal was quick, affordable($ 21 for two — not including tax), and incredibly tasty. I would recommend this place to others! Edit: I’ve been here 3 times now. Service is always excellent, and food is consistently tasty! I’ve recommended this to friends and family, and everyone has been pleased with the place. I’ll continue to return and recommend Tia Juana Restaurant to others.

I can’t remember how much I paid for lunch here, but I do remember it being very reasonable. Super quick service. When you’re seated, you have your basket of chips and salsa already waiting for you. You can tell the salsa is homemade, and honestly I really liked it. I ordered a one item plate, chicken enchilada with a side of rice and no beans. I thought the portion was decent considering I wasn’t super hungry that day, and I after polishing my plate, I was plenty full. The rice was like the tomato rice, and I enjoyed the texture and flavor. The enchilada sauce was very good, and the chicken enchilada was tasty as well. Overall a good Mexican restaurant. Nothing that stood out at being amazing, but it was solid. If you need a good quick bite, this is definitely a place for you.

Starving and was feeling Mexican. My friends come here all the time, so here we are. They both got a chicken something plate. I guess its what they get all the time. I tried the carnitas burrito. The burrito was ok. If this was say New York or somewhere in the Midwest, I’m sure the burrito would be rocking. But in the South Bay, there is a lot of competition and a lot of really good Mexican shops. The burrito needed more flavor, the meat was too dry, and it needed something like more guac or salsa, or something. Something to give it a little more juice. My friends loved what they got.

Mi Tia Juana dice que si quiero como, tienes que traer aqui a su culo temprano. That, my friends is the Spanish lesson for the day which means«My auntie joo-wanna said if you wanna eat, you gotta get your ass here early». And you thought Unilocal was for reviews only… We arrived ~11:45 and was seated promptly for our party of six. Two baskets of chips and salsa was placed on our table but apparently«Tia didn’t Wanna» make fresh chips because they were hella stale. After spending like 3 min looking at the menu, I glanced up and noticed that the restaurant was already packed at this point and people were starting to congregate outside. I put in my order for a chicken taco and chile verde enchilada. Food arrived pronto. The sweet señorita was cuidado with every plata that she brought out warning us how hot the plates were. I couldn’t resist touching her hands to see how the hell SHE was able to tolerate it. Her hands were a bit calloused, but I wouldn’t say to the degree of a concrete worker so I’m still a bit baffled. Guess I’m just a wimp bc I couldn’t touch it for more than 2 seconds. The taco was just ok. Wasn’t spectacular but certainly not attainable by any fast food establishments. The enchilada was what set the meal apart. It was spectacular. Meat was tender, not too much fat, saucy, and not too salty. Apparently this is popular place to eat with coworkers so i’m sure I’ll be back. Next time Tia better make some fresh chips that crunch.
