This place has great bagel sandwiches at a good price. The inside is clean with a welcoming friendly staff. The owner was there who genuinely said thank you to me as I left. Stop by this place it’s well worth it!

Very disappointed today, when to the bakery this morning to pick up bagels etc for family who I told were the best. Walked in and it took a bit of time to even get acknowledged. Finally a waitress told me she would be with me in a minute. 3 people behind the counter, the waitress was busy getting bagels to go ready for a couple in the café. As the couple were leaving she said wait don’t forget your bagels. They told her the other woman got them for them. She pushed the bagels aside the went back to the café to another table. The other 2 people behind the counter I guess were just to busy to wait on me. After 5 minutes I walked out. To bad had been there many times before and was pretty happy but don’t like being ignored.

I accidentally found this place while leaving out the back of a local bar a smelling and seeing fresh bread for the next day being made. So semi-early the next morning I went down to try it out. We ordered bagels and got our free coffee from checking in via Unilocal. The bagels tasted fresh and had a nice flavor. The garlic bagel was maybe a bit too much but still good. We enjoyed the coffee but not our favorite. I’d for sure go back here next time I’m in surfside!

Great little coffee shop with wonderful bagels and baked goods! Had the multigrain bagel with sunflower seeds covering the top. Very good. Cute little tables/seating area. I will go back to try the danish and sandwiches.

Very impressive bakery. Five stars for the assortment of great baked goods from donuts to savory bread. The Jimmy johns had much higher quality chocolate icing than you ever find! And the white cream filling was just the right sweetness. I wanted a little more filing. But they’re very good! A standout was the«Dossants»(an amazing combination of croissant and donut) topped with a yummy glaze. Outstanding! Addictive! Kudos to Benjamin’s!!! I would’ve gladly given the entire place five stars for great coffee, but alas, the coffee was not a high point for me. The flavor was alright but the body weak. I think if this place really put there keen aesthetic for donuts and baked goods into their coffee and served great simple light roasts(pour over style) that they would be unstoppable!

I drove down to surfside when I had a few hours before my flight. I stopped in for coffee. Very cozy inside and a nice selection of baked goods. I bought some of their day old cookies at a reduced price and they were delicious. Cute little place.

Fresh baked goods, at an insanely good price! How could you go wrong? First time stopping in; Got a few things to-go to try. We got a dozen homemade munchkins — Which were melt in your mouth great!!, A decent sized bag of homemade croutons — Which were absolutely amazing!!!, and a cheese danish that i’m looking forward to eating! Unfortunately, it is a bit of a drive from our location, but so so worth it. And we will be visiting again!

Great breakfast spot we just discovered! Not only is everything fresh, but it’s affordable and they have a wide variety of things. They even will let you order fresh baked goods for the next day and come pick them up so you don’t need to worry about getting in before the rush to get what you want.

Delicious bagels and muffins. Tried the everything bagel and the Asiago cheese bagel, both were very good. Had a bite of the chocolate chocolate chip muffin, it was good and very chocolatey! Be sure to try the raspberry mocha coffee, it’s amazing! Will definitely be back whenever I’m in town!

A great place to sit and have a nice sandwich and coffee. The secret to a great sandwich is the bread. Benjamin’s does it well!

I finally found it. I was looking up and down 17 Business, silly me didn’t realize the«back door» type of entry. Not that it was adverse in any way, but unless you are going slow on the Business or at a turtles pace down Surfside Drive and spun your head around, can you see it. I’m not speaking badly of this, but in fact I love it. I stopped by earlier this week and made a small purchase. I wanted to go back and I did just that this morning. The cashier was rather frazzled with the rush(3 people on line) comparing it to Starbucks. I’m not a fan of Starbucks, but I know the drones will wait from breakfast till noon, for their whirligig-appucino, fat free, of course. Benjamin’s Bakery has that home done, beachy and warm décor and feel. Upon entry to your left is the counter, display and toasting areas. To your right are tables and chairs and for those with back issues, there is a couch and coffee table, which is where I sat. I ordered an onion bagel toasted with butter and a large coffee. For that my $ 5, I got change. I saw the clerk scooping something, and I started to interrupt her, and I realized my toast was ready. Off to the right, but behind the counter is where the milk and French Vanilla dispensers were. I quickly paid her and went to my seat and opened my package. I had my beautifully toasted bagel, with a knife and butter(so I thought), but instead it was cream cheese. Oh, that’s what she was scooping. I didn’t care and spread it on my bagel and sat down to enjoy a quiet bite. Suddenly the rush was gone and the clerk put on the radio. For me, it was a buzz-kill, it took away from the local early morning coffee and bagel I was having in peace. No, it didn’t ruin my meal. I ate the whole bagel, cleaned up after myself and left after having such a lovely experience. These bagels could never qualify as NY bagels, no where close, however they were light and delicious and definitely fresh. I have also tried their french bread, which was so crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. There is lots more to try and I will be back. I just love this place.

This place had a storefront when I was growing up. I’m not sure when they went underground, but I’m certainly glad they’re opening once again to the public. Benjamin’s does baked goods for local grocery stores and for many of the area’s best restaurants. I popped into the storefront this week to check the place out. It was close to their closing time, so many of the days freshly baked goods were gone. I was still able to get a selection of bagels and the last two croissants. I struck up a conversation with the owner and he he told me about the old storefront and going underground and then offered to give me a tour of the bakery! It was an incredible offer I could not turn down. Seeing how a small bakery does their goods was really exciting for this baker! He and I had a great conversation about different breads and yeasts and all sorts of other bread baking topics while he gave me the tour. I purchased 6 bagels and 2 croissants, and my total was under $ 10. The croissants are huge and the bagels are a very generous size as well. Benjamin’s steams their bagels instead of boiling them. They have great flavor, but are not as chewy as a more traditional bagel. They have a large selection of bagel flavors. Benjamin’s is a coffee shop and café, not just a bakery. Make sure to pop into this longtime local business if you find yourself in this area!

This place was a bit far from North Myrtle beach, like 40 minutes, but I read their reviews and I was Jonesing for some descent Artesian bread, so I made the drive just for that. When I got there, I found out they normally just sell to the big stores like bi-lo or other grocery stores but the guy I talked with on the phone set me aside 2 loaves of his private stash of sesame french bread… for free! Then he walked me through the factory asking me what else I’d like. They were preparing orders for other company’s. They make bagels, french bread, baguettes, croissants and other stuff .They also have these 1 ½ lb. loaves of fresh Marble Rye. REALLY good! It would be nice if they opened a bakery for the average Joe to go to, but even tho they don’t have that right now, they will still sell to you. they really accommodated me well! I was impressed and I would return!
