Oh Talay, Talay, you dodged a bullet today! Okay, that’s a little dramatic, but when I came in just before noon for some lunch, I was greeted with a line… not of customers waiting to be seated, but a line of customers waiting to pay, and I just was out of luck with my to go order, as I stood and waited, and waited, and waited. I did eventually order, and I waited almost 20 minutes on a 1 hour break, but I think it was worth it. Don’t believe me? Read on! I got myself the green curry chicken lunch special($ 7.95), which came with a decent amount of sliced chicken breast, green peppers, green beans and a decent amount of curry sauce. White rice and a veggie egg roll with dipping sauce also came with the lunch order. I enjoyed the flavor of the curry, very smooth, and with a nice slow burn that catches up to you after you take a couple of mouth fulls. The egg roll was crispy/flaky, and slightly greasy, but I liked the flavor of it too. Here’s the worth it part of Talay Thai. They have amazing customer service! Initially as I waited, staff came up to me, apologized and handed me a cup of sweet tea on the house. As my order finally came out, in my left hand was the green tea curry, and in my right, they comped me a yellow curry chicken meal without me asking. Wow, excellent! The yellow chicken curry was saved for dinner, and was reheated in the microwave, but fortunately, the flavor and consistency of the yellow curry held up well to the microwave, and delivered the same great flavor as the green curry did, although not nearly as spicy. In the curry was the same sliced chicken breast, carrots, potato, white rice, not as much curry sauce, but another egg roll. The egg roll, sadly did not hold up well to the microwave at all, and was pretty soggy, dripping with grease, so eat your egg rolls immediately if you get them. Located off of Old Peachtree Road, in the little strip that also contains Roll and Phở, parking might be tight, since it’s a small lot and construction is going on but space shouldn’t be so terrible to find. There are two entrances/exits to the lot, although neither have a traffic light exit, so be careful when you cross Old Peachtree, heading back towards 85. I’m a sucker for great customer service, and as soon as Talay Thai showed me how great their customer service was, the fact that their food was also tasty was just icing on the cake. Definitely will be back!

I love coming here, their lunch is just as good as their dinner. I have noticed that their dinner portion are huge! I love their red curry. Additionally as a vegetarian, they don’t have fish sauce in any of their curry dishes which is awesome.

My wife and I have been coming here for several years now because it has the best Pad Thai in the area. We usually get the Fresh Basil rolls then the Unique and most appetizing Seafood salad. We split and eat everything because it’s so Good!.. Yummy! The service is also excellent! I highly recommend this place.

was i eating at a chinese cuisine? My tastebuds were just so confused… Like it was mixing chocolate and ramen with orange juice. Ok well not as bad as described. But What is it suppose to be! It was meh. Overall it was mediocre experience compared to all the other thai restaurants in Gwinnett alone.. . But not surprised. Gwinnett thai is limited to mediocre. P. s. the staff should smile more. P. s.s.s.s.s Actually I take that back… There was one exceptional thai place in Gwinnett that exceeded my pallets expectation =)

Their drunken noodles dish is really good and they make it in about 10 minutes max. Good for when you’re feeling lazy and need food fast. They deliver too :)

It’s so economical for a huge portion of thai food and won’t say the best in taste but surely good thai food.

Not the best Thai. Service was good but food was average at best. Shrimp tasted like frozen over cooked rubber.

Yet another mediocre chicken coconut soup. The soup is too light. Maybe thicker soup would be better. The veggie and tofu massaman curry is way too watery. Maybe they did not account for the water that comes out from the vegetable. Right amount of spice. I think the curry needs some more work done. The taste did not completely seep in to the tofu

I can’t give 5 stars because I’ve never had any Thai cuisine so I don’t know how it compares. But the food here was outstanding. Truly fresh tasting and huge portions. We had spicy basil chicken fried rice, spring rolls, and cheese rolls. I could not stop reading to the waitress how good the food tasted. Will definitely be back! The atmosphere was also nice. Soothing music not too loud. Two TVs showing the major networks but muted. Giant aquarium for your kids to gawk at. Very friendly staff too.

Very authentic Thai food! I loved it. The coconut soup is a bit watery, but still good. We had nam tuk salad which is my absolute favorite(steak salad)! The dumplings are good Pan fried not steamed(too soggy). The chicken screwers were delicious and juicy! The broccoli chicken was delicious and so was the drunken noodles were really good as well! My absolute favorite thing though is the Thai iced tea lol I love that stuff!

Oooooh buddy… where to start. First of all the atmosphere in the restaurant is very somber and kind of like a downer friend. The staff speak more monotone than a robot. The food is pretty bad, the chicken in the dishes was some of the nastiest, toughest chicken I have ever had in my life. Soon as I bit into the chicken, just nasty chicken taste overwhelmed my mouth, I spit it out, then I felt like I wanted to rinse my mouth out with something really strong. A friend with a goldfish brain had some noodles, the noodles he said were OK but that was pretty much it, the meat that came with the noodles was also pretty bad from my friends perspective. Save yourself a bad stomach and some money and eat somewhere else.

Good for a quick lunch, but not great. As noted by other reviews this place seems to suffer multiple personalities, totally different at dinner or on certain days of the week. I was apparently here on one of the off days. Now that I live in rural America I jump at ANY chance to eat some Thai. Even suffering deeply from ethnic food withdrawals I was left a bit disappointed by the bland version of lunch Pad Thai here. They offer a mix of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, whatever. Other dishes looked OK and the average food offerings were offset by the delightful mismatched lunch crowd from office parks in every direction. We were able to play«spot the complainer, attendance problem, IT guy, etc» sizing up the tables around us. Of course they were able to play the same game looking at us except it was all«spot the IT guy». Service was very fast, good news if you’re in a hurry at lunch.

I love eating here for a quick meal on my break from class, which I have just down the street. I like spicy food. I like Thai food. And this has everything I need. The prices are common for what I see for Thai food. But I hate battling for a parking space in the little shopping center. But some days when I get the craving, it is so worth it.

I’ve had a love /hate relationship with this place. When the food is good, it is REALLY good. When it isn’t, it is bland. As you can tell by my previous reviews, this can really vary. However, the food last night was absolutely delicious. The only reason it isn’t five stars is because their prices have really gone up(compared to everyone else in the area + compared to their old menu). Delivery is reasonable at $ 1.50, but $ 12.25 for basil fried rice is nuts. I would order more often if the prices were reasonable.

This restaurant off of exit 109 offers some great Thai dishes. Their food is worthy for a 5-star review, but their dinner prices are overpriced. Come for lunch, it’s so much cheaper. Their Panang curry is very tasty and good.

Quick and tasty, that’s how I like my lunch! I’ve been here a few times and have always enjoyed it. They have 5 – 6 curries to choose from, but also a list of traditional thai(chinese?) dishes. I’m pretty sure I’ve only had the masaman curry here. Everything on the plate is great! It’s served with white rice and your choice of spring roll or soup. This is an easy choice for lunch with the coworkers. However, the dining area is quite small so I wouldn’t recommend it for parties larger than 4 — unless you want to wait for other tables to leave. You pay at the front, which makes it easy to split checks. Overall, I really like it here!

The boyfriend and I stopped here randomly the night we set out to find Thai Diner and realized it was inside Discover Mills(side note: we did end up going to Thai Diner a few months later and it was beyond disgusting, so don’t go there). Anyway, not willing to give up on our Thai cravings we stopped here and I’m so glad we did. As usual, I started with the coconut soup with chicken. Delicious! Masaman curry(with chicken) was also quite delicious, but I can’t say I loved the Pad Thai. Solid choice for Thai in the area.
