This is the first time having Indian food, so I don’t know how helpful my review will be, but for the other first timers… this place has a small buffet as well as having ordered items. I had the lunch buffet and I thought the food was actually decent and spicy(which I like). The server(he might have been the manager/owner as well) was very friendly and made sure all the buffet items were hot and ready to eat. I would come back again especially since the price is cheap. As a pure non-bias judgement, not comparing it to any other Indian places and the fact that this was a lunch buffet on a Tuesday and based on the price — 4 stars

I have been here twice, and two things have been consistent: the food is good, but the service is VERY slow. If you go there mentally prepared for the fact that you won’t eat for an hour, it’s great. The chicken korma is very good, also the tikka masala and vindaloo … muttar paneer was just«OK». Naan was good and fresh. The ambiance doesn’t feel very friendly, lots of hard surfaces and spare décor, but that’s just a personal preference and not really a big deal. Indian food is pretty hit or miss around Gwinnett, so it’s nice to find a place with good food, despite the iffy service.

Went for dinner, food was incredibly oily, couldnt see much of the dish because of the oil floating on top. Was extremely spicy when we had mentioned we wanted medium spice level. And not much flavor in their food. More than anything, we were just baffled to see the amount of oil used in their food, not normal! Might as well gulp down a cup of oil!

I went for lunch yesterday. My daughter and I enjoyed the buffet. One side is all vegetarian and the other is all meat. Both sides were delicious. We will be back.

Went for the lunch buffet and was pleased. With the number of items exceeded the number of customers, I can never understand how an Indian restaurant buffet can make money. I hope they do, because they were good. Although not as spicy as some, the trick here seems to be that same items are done with different sauces and spicing. No matter, you can still experience a variety of tastes at a very economical price. Attractive if somewhat sterile décor with a wall of windows overlooking(for now and longer I hope) a natural green woods. It is a little hard to find being off the road on the middle tier of an industrial park; but worth searching for.

We went for the lunch buffet today and it was great. $ 7.99 is a cheap deal for lunch… go to Subway for $ 5 and get a lousy sub or go to The Cloves for $ 8 and get real, good food??? Not much of a choice! The Cloves wins, hands down. We got there a little after noon and were seated immediately. Our server was very attentive… some of the best service we have received in a long time at a restaurant. We both got the buffet and it was very good… my favorite was the tandoori chicken… second favorite was the chicken curry. I tried everything on the buffet and liked all of it. We also had an order of chicken 65, which was crazy good. The naan was hot and fresh also. All the food was delicious. Will we go back? YES. Would I recommend to family and friends… YES. Locally owned and operated, I like supporting the business owners that live and work in my town.

My new favorite Indian restaurant in metro. The vegetables are fresh, service is genuine, spice is adjustable, and variety is great. Worth the trek!

I have a friend who lives within walking distance of The Cloves and has told me on numerous occasions how good their lunch buffet is. Well, I finally found myself up there around lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon, so we hit up that buffet. It was quite impressive. The buffet selection is about half meat and half vegetarian along with a salad bar, soup and desserts. From what I can recall from memory there was aloo gobi, chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, paneer palak, rice with veggies, egg masala, chicken curry and two different eggplant dishes. And that’s just the main courses — there were also three desserts on hand: rice pudding, gulab jabun(Indian donuts, basically — so, SO good!), and rasmalai(paneer balls soaked in slighlty tart clotted cream). As soon as we entered this little restaurant on the corner of the strip mall, the hostess greeted us, showed us to a table near the front(it wasn’t too busy as it was already 2PM), and let us loose on the buffet after taking our drink orders. I’d also like to note the back half of the restaurant was off limits that afternoon because a baby shower was being thrown a little while after we entered as was evidenced by the«Baby Shower» signs, cupcakes, and lots and lots of women entering in saris bearing pastel colored gift bags. How sweet! Where to begin, where to begin? I had to try a bit of most everything — it all looked fresh and delicious. The chicken curry, chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken were all superb. Hot, just spicy enough but not too much, and no real bones to speak of. When we came back to our table too, the girl who’d seated us brought out a fresh order of piping hot naan(very light and fluffy), and the owner came over after a bit to say«hello,» tell us the specials on the buffet that day and see if we needed anything else. After having our fill of meat and curry, dessert was in order. Although we tried all three desserts, the gulab jabun and rice pudding were the winners far and away(especially when combined). I’m so glad I finally had the chance to try The Cloves — it really is a great Indian restaurant in the Suwanee area, and if you don’t leave with a slight food hangover if not full on coma, you just weren’t trying.

This is more a rating for the lunch buffet. The lunch buffet is not bad. There aren’t too many dishes but what is made is done well. I think the food is at the right level of spicy and what I think is standard fair for an Indian lunch buffet. In short, it’s a good Indian food experience. Where this place does not live up to standard is that the service could be a bit better. Also, the buffet items tend to stay the same, not a huge problem but I would like to see a bit more variation. I will be going back and will update the review when I try their dinner service.

Food: Very delicious indo-chinese food. Service: The owner was giving me a hard time for using a groupon on take-out. I use groupons all the time and have never had to deal with that crap. Price: Regular prices seem a bit pricy but they have a $ 7 weekday buffet which is a great price.

Execellent traditional food. Worth looking for their location which is just off the street. Nice place. We’re going back for the lunch buffet so we can try more.

We used a groupon. If I had paid full price for the entrees, I would not be happy. The service was pitiful. The food took an hour to make it to our table. The chicken tikka was very nice and spicy. Naan was fair, and the roti was bad. Chicken 65 was under spiced and bland. Clearly a family run business that has no clue about service, or proper staffing levels. Their lunch buffet has decent food. Restaurants should be staffed for the business they would like to be doing, instead of trying to skate by with a half or third of the staff needed to run properly. Poor management, and recent expansion to a banquet facility combined with a terrible location/zero visibility will spell failure for this restaurant.

I had a Groupon and needed to use it. Service could have been a LOT better — hence 2 stars instead of 3. — Manchurian gobi: good, kinda spicy — Mango lassi: gross — Paneer makhani: tasted like a rip off of Café Bombay’s, but with really thinly sliced paneer… I prefer more paneer(the rice that it came with could have used more zeera)

I took my sister here on her birthday and the food was DELICIOUS! As two Brits, we love our curry, and we weren’t disappointed! I had the Chicken Tikka, and she had the Chicken Curry, and it’s the best curry I have had in the States so far. I would definitely recommend it! As my bro in law says, it’s not a good curry unless you get the«curry sniffles» and we definitely had the sniffles! Awesome food!

two words… Lamb Rogan! although, actual name is three words, but lets just stick with two for now. This place is hidden away off peachtree ind. blvd, and sooo glad found this place. This place not too expensive for good indian food. Now, by no means i am indian food expert, but i had many, so i have given myself the privilege to rate this place. 4OUT5!!! Their sauce is not heavy with fatty oil or butter like some other indian places and you can really taste their spices. I strongly recommend this place for non-indian folks. I was there friday night and wasn’t too busy and service was pretty good. Their lamb meat just falls apart and melt in your mouth, and their special curry sauce… i wanted to bathe in it.

Love the Lamb Rogan Josh! Only get for takeout. Haven’t eaten in. I’m a regular. Very friendly staff. Décor is minimal. I wish it had a better locale.

Love this place I go every couple of weeks. Don’t expect the best service when you go but the food is awesome and the over worked wait staff is very friendly. Don’t be afraid to talk to them and tell them what flavors you like so they can recommend a dish. Haven’t been steered wrong yet.

Oooofff! Went here three months ago for lunch because it’s right around the corner from Fresh Market. I was the first customer in their door that morning, and they were still setting up. They parked me at a table, brought me some water(no ice-my request), and the buffet was ready about 5 minutes later. It was a strange blend of intense flavors in some dishes and bland spicing in others. Okay, what I’m trying to say was the dishes were inconsistent. While I don’t know the names of the 12 hot items, I do know what they’re supposed to taste like based on UYEs(thank you, Unilocal). The sliced eggplant dish was partly cold and was greasy. The naan was too doughy. The lentil dish had a strange consistency. The restaurant itself was nice enough, and the staff looked very anxious to please. I’ll try again in a month or so. We need a good Indian restaurant in this area. Hope this can be it.
