Went here for lunch. Food although a small selection to choose from was good. Greek salad was delicious and healthy. Atmosphere was quiet with music in the background and good for reading or catching me up with a friend. Service was fine, no complaints, not bad at all like some reviewers have noted. Was it the best service ever? No but it’s also a small café not el gaucho so I expect courtesy and prompt service which I totally received. I do Wish there was a better and wider selection of teas to choose from as I am a fanatic of fine teas but I loved that they had stevia! Would love to see more pastries available in the future, maybe specialty croissants!

Dropped in to get some work done and a coffee. Wifi didn’t connect and staff was very unhelpful. From the comments below it looks like the time has to be purchased, which wasn’t mentioned by the staff when I asked about connection problems. «Sorry we can’t touch it» was response to my question regarding their router. If indeed you do need to pay for Internet access, they should reopen the café in 1990 or a Mexican resort. That would also fit with the fact there is one outlet for customers in the entire café. Can’t say much about the coffee as I couldn’t stay to enjoy it without being able to get online. Have to agree with everyone else regarding the aloofness of the staff. Really disappointing experience overall. Now at Sbux down the street typing away with a variety of tables with outlets to choose from…

We came here to support a local business instead of the more corporate one. They wouldn’t give my daughter a cup of water to enjoy with her cookie. Really? I was being pushed into buying a bottle. Annoying to be nickeled and dimed, especially when we bought two Americanos, which, by the way, were just a couple of overheated motel coffees. Boo! :)

I met a friend for coffee here mostly because of the convenient location(right in Ruston and close to downtown Tacoma.) I have to say I was a little disappointed by the coffee, but in all honesty I was there for the company and the ambiance, which is nice at Treos. I didn’t try any of the food, but my friend liked the scone she got. They looked pretty fresh. All in all, I would still go back because of the location and the atmosphere, despite not having had the best coffee in the world.

Tacoma’s waterfront is gorgeous, and Treos is a good place to stop for coffee nearby.

Two hour time-limits per purchase for wi-fi and only one area with power outlets which is a cubby hole by the door. If you are someone that frequents coffee shops to work, like myself, this is probably not the place for you. I most likely wont be returning. Its a great location, near the water and maybe 5 minutes tops from my apt. Staff seemed a little up tight as well. They were courteous but slightly snobby(ie upper middle-class white) I was really hoping this would be my new found caffeine induced workshop. Looks like I am still limited to Metronome…

Great Location… And the food is always good… Fun place to meet a friend or have a quick work meeting. Coffee has always been good and consistent.

I want so much for this place to succeed and yet each time I’m in here, the owner’s attitude and opinion seem to take precedence over some simple request. The space is ‘okay’ large bright but laid out without regard to design or style. Tables and seating have a kind of rummaged look. Coffee drinks are in consistent from visit to visit. Little care or concern in the non-coffee drink department. With just a tad more(of 3 things) this place could really rock: 1. Customer service without reservation or defensiveness 2. Style or care in the design/layout and 3. A bit more humility by owner.

Why did they get rid of the Maya chai?!? Tears welled in my eyes when I heard the tragic news. The replacement chai is ehh. Better than Tazo or Oregon but is still a cookie flavored milk drink masquerading as a spicy Indian elixir. Anyways, aside from the chai tragedy… The barista who took our order seemed in a hurry though we were the only ones in line and confirmed, «You guys aren’t staying right?» Well I’m sure she’s a great person but the vibes… the vibes. Bummer.
