It feels odd to review a storage unit that I never actually used, but I feel like I had enough interaction to justify the expelling of my three cents.
I took over a storage unit here from someone else. There is one reason and one reason alone that I did not keep it — it was not incredibly close to my house. I badly wanted to keep it, but sadly it was only a temporary home for my things for about two weeks, while I transferred the items somewhere else.
The owner/​manager Liz? couldn’t have been cooler. She made the transition very smooth for me and did not try and pressure me into keeping the unit. The unit itself was very nice, and was actually much nicer than the unit I ended up with somewhere else. It was nice and cool in there too.
You have to love a storage place that allows you to deliver packages directly to it — what a life saver. Sometimes UPS can be a real bitch when it comes to requiring a signature and giving you 10 hour windows that the package will be delivered in. Who can be held hostage to their house for 10 hours?
If I ever move closer, I will definitely become a Hyde Park Storager.
