Steak N Shake

He other reviews for this place is spot on. We were there when there was about 5 tables. Took about ten mins to have someone say hello, another 10 to get drinks. Our order was all messed up. Wrong food. No drink refills. Servers didn’t seem to care. Manager seemed to care even less. Food was good. Pace of meal was ok but order was wrong so…
All in all place could be great but staff is friendly but useless. This place isn’t worth it.

While the food itself is good, we waited 22 minutes just to get waited on. I ask the waitress what took so long for someone to acknowledge us. Her reply was «a lot of people are on break»! Are you kidding me?
This was yesterday Sunday at 2pm.
Doubtful if we go back.

I’ll give this place a three because I really like the food, it’s cheap and it’s super good. My boyfriend and I come here quite often for a quick bite befor we catch a movie. It’s one of the only places I will eat a burger at, the servers aren’t very interested in giving good customer service though, sometimes we wait 25 minutes to get drinks or know who our waiter is and that is on a slow night. Sometimes it’s like they Forget we’re there. Not all of the servers are like that but the majority we have had aren’t very talkative and just seem annoyed. We hardly get asked how the food is, or if we need refills. Half the time they bring the food and the receipt at the same time and that is that. Again though I won’t complain about how cheap it is!

This restaurant is horrible. Employees that don’t care about customers. It’s horrible. The only good thing about eating at this place is the milkshakes.

20 Minutes to even get a water… with the place half empty. The only thing slower than the service here is… uh? …evolution.

I’ve been to this stake and shake several times, it’s alright. Typically the service is slow and you can tell that the waitstaff is usually the team that didn’t make the cut at Eat-​N-​Park, but they are nice. It seems there is a new manager there the past few times who has their act together alot more than the guy who was there last year. As for the food it’s better than McDonald’s and Wendy’s but with a 5 Guys mere feet away I typically don’t go here often except for the seasonal milkshakes.

This place needs to be shut down– please do not eat there. I may have gone on a bad night but there is no excuse for cold, crispy burger meat and hard bread, a shake that has 5 times more syrup in it than it should (ew aftertaste), and a 30 minute drive thru wait. 25 minutes of that time, they had my debit card and did not give it back until my husband went in and yelled. When the manager came to the window to return our debit card, she had two of them and didn’t know which one to give me. I feel bad for whoever else had tried to pay, I could have easily taken their card. So unprofessional! The kitchen was filthy and people were walking away from the grill. If they were short staffed, maybe they need to cross-​train the servers. There were 5 of them just staring at me as I was waiting for my food while the other 3 staff were running like chickens with their heads cut off.

No matter what location or however bad the service may be, I love Steak ‘n Shake.
The service was great. My waitress made sure I was taken care of and quickly delivered the food. (Btw, a milkshake and a side of fries from SnS is amazing.)
This is definitely a family restaurant so if you’re not a fan of kids, take a Xanax.

If you have ever been to this chain in Indiana, don’t expect this to be the same. Out there the burgers are done crispy around the edges, and fries the same way. This one has barely cooked meat and soggy fries. You’d be better off (or cheaper at least) with McDonalds.
