If you want a nice Irish pub style place to eat, relax, and enjoy live music– this is the place to go. The staff is friendly and don’t try to rush you. I was given a sample of the summer ale before ordering to ensure I would like the taste. We visited for the first time last evening not knowing what to expect and had a wonderful time. We dined in the patio area where there was a nice breeze and fans with mist to keep patrons cool. There are big screen tvs around the nice sized bar to watch and great music to listen to in between live music sets. Outside seating is also dog friendly. I will definitely eat there again and recommend to friends and family.

So disappointing, we left our friends in PH to see Almost Alice at this bar. We ubered there and ordered drinks. When they were not served, I questioned it and was cut off. Hmm, hour or 2 later, i’m writing this review. Never again.

I was very unimpressed with Yard of Ale. The live music was dull, there was barely a crowd, and the smokers basically killed all desire to sit outside. I ordered a Cigar City brew and it was served to me with a dead spider in it. The bartender laughed it off but with it being as slow as it was and only serving 2 drinks you would have thought he would’ve noticed. That being said, the bartenders were very chatty with each other and not with their patrons which I thought odd. I wouldn’t go back. Its sad because the bar that was in this location before was a lot of fun and I had high hopes for a gastro pub here in Tarpon but it is just a big flop.

No good… the menu online is not the same menu in restaurant. They were out of the only beer on the menu that I really wanted. The buffalo dip came out barely warmed up. 3 stars because they warmed up the dip. I would of gave them only 1 star because the menu was pretty pathetic and our waiter was super sweaty when it wasn’t even busy. This place use to be so much better. I hope it turns it’s self around.

I not sure what has happened here if there are new owners or management. This place has dropped in quality in less then a month since we have been here last. Prices have dropped along with a couple of menue items. The bbq bacon burger use to be served with onion straw, it came with an oinion ring on top. The bacon was not the same quality. The staff was totally different. Not very professional or clean in appearance. I was sadly disappointed in our dinning experience. Probably will not be back.

Great discovery! It’s our go to for burgers and brew in Tarpon. The fish and chips are top notch too. Good staff, casual but fun atmosphere with tasty bites-yes please!

We Had the Pork Tenderloins wrapped in bacon for an app. The Grouper Sandwich and The Goat Cheese Salad and everything was delicious. Definitely NOT Bar Food. Service we great(Thanks Chelsea).

My experience at the yard of ale was a pleasant one. Upon entry the atmosphere is very welcoming. With many many choices of beer I couldn’t go wrong. Not only was the drink selection above par but I also had an encounter with one of the best bartenders of all time, outside of the service I received in Las Vegas. I believe his name was Justin, not only did he have a nose and a brain for all beers I like. He also was very insightful, knowledgeable about the choice on the menu.

First time here. Stopped by for a beer and wings to watch the Bucs on Sunday. The wings have a nice smokey taste and the chicken is very tender. 28 beers on tap. Good place to come watch a game or just have a casual night out with friends.

So the service was amazing. We had a attentive and smiling server. The beer selection was vast and had all kind of delicious treats to be discovered and get let me out have a sample to try. I was super excited to try the food because of how amazing the service of was. I started with a buffalo chicken dip that was good. Then my meal came. What a disappointment. I had ordered a side of the Mac and cheese which was $ 5. It looked amazing so I dug right in. It was soooo bad. Tasteless and bland. I’ve had better mac and cheese from a box. The waiter(who was awesome) immediately saw I was not happy and I told him I didn’t like it. He immediately took it and took it off. My burger looked amazing. It had blue cheese, bacon, and a fried egg. I was so excited and then I bit in. It was also tasteless, the meat was like a frozen patty. How could all those things be on it and it be bland? Egg no salt or pepper. I didn’t even complain because I had already sent back the Mac and cheese. I only had one bite. My friend had a fish sandwich and his was terrible and he only had two bites. The fries were good. The thing is it was obvious that neither one of us was happy. The only one happy was the dog when I went home and gave it to him. So go for the beer. Not the food

We’ve been here a few times and love it! We’ve tried a few different dishes and all were great! The staff has always been wonderful!!! I’m a domestic beer fan, boring I know, but I decided since we were there to step away from my usual Coors Light and tried the Abita Purple Haze and it’s now my new fave!!! And the better half likes Irish Reds so he got the Brew Bus Rollin’ Dirty, I tried it and it’s pretty good with a hint of chocolate flavor, so guess you could say I’m coming around lol I would have given this 5 stars but if you’re seated near the patio area it gets VERY warm inside due to the open doors and windows, but it wasn’t unbearable. It’s a great atmosphere!!! We’ve been with our kids for dinner each time so as soon as we get some adult time we will go and enjoy it even more!!!

So after my first visit, I thought this might be a regular spot of mine but after today, I take that back. First visit: we ordered 2 of their burgers and as a bona fide burger snob, I can honestly say they were pretty good. My hubs didn’t like the street corn but I thought it was OK. The fries were really yummy. Our only qualm was one of the waiters(a big tattooed guy with a strong jaw) was seen walking into the restaurant and directly over to the bar after zipping up his pants right outside the door. Not sure if he was coming from the bathroom or adjusting his junk, but he went straight to the bar and started touching stuff. Gross. Second visit: Decided to stop in real quick for a couple of to go desserts. First, when I tried to call the order in, it went to voicemail. So, I had to go there to order and wait. I ordered 2 desserts and paid $ 16 for them. What arrived was unbelievable. 2 tiny containers of questionable content. I love to eat and don’t mind paying for my food but this was ridiculous! Neither of the desserts were worth $ 8 and they weren’t even that tasty. To top it off, the cook put my ice cream & hot dessert in the same tiny container(which only had about 3 – 4 bites of the actual apple dessert). So by the time I got home, it was a disgusting soup. Anyway, we won’t be back…

Bring a fan. Whatever the temperature is outside that is the temperature inside… Because I’m a slow learner I didn’t notice that all the doors & windows are open on the street side so we can enjoy the weather and street sounds. Our group of 5 ordered 2 appetizers &3 meals. Food was good. Did I mention doors & windows are open. 8:00 pm June 28

Stopped in to the New location of YoA. It’s Airy, quite comfortable, but has the same issues with parking that the previous owners did in the same location. They cover this by having a lot across the street and one a block down. Just be aware that there is a house that has both feral cats and a raccoon behind the location. We stopped in for brunch, something new they are offering, and we were a bit surprised. It was a brunch as in offering breakfast & lunch, not a buffet. That’s ok, there were some interesting offerings on the menu! The first thing we noticed is that(almost) everything had either bourbon or bacon in the ingredient list. YUMMY. They were not offering the full menu either, but they were offering some fantastic drink specials on Bloody Marys, Mimosas and bellini’s. We placed our orders: The husbeast got the Cinnamon stack pancakes and I got the Fried chicken toast plate, and we waited while we sipped our drinks. I chose a peach bellini —($ 6 all you can drink– I would NOT recommend it) and the hubster got himself a cider. When the food came it was delivered on very pretty plate, but we were hungry and I forgot to take pics. I did take pictures AFTER we’d started eating. HEH. Anyway, the hubs got three large, but thin pancakes layered with bacon and topped with fresh fruit and a bourbon sauce — though he requested the sauce on the side. By the way he ate it, I can tell he liked it. My food was good, the 3 large slices of french toast were fried, and served with 2 large chicken tenders(they called it southern style fried chicken, but lets be honest, it’s chicken tenders) and maple syrup. The French toast was some of the best I’ve eaten. Because it was fried, it was not soggy, it was evenly done, and so good. At the end of the meal, we opted to NOT get dessert, but we could have had a bacon plate(candied bacon to dip into chocolate) or cereal sushi, among a few other things. I’ll try something next time.

Food sucked, shitty menu, untrained chef. Sorry but we had a party of 6 and all 5 of 6 didn’t like the meal. Service sucked as well, seemed confused and disjointed. Heard from several other parties food was lacking. This location always struggled with food and we did give them an honest shot. Feeling a little guilty giving a new place a bad review because I know it takes time to work kinks out but the food was almost inedible. It’s also seems the menu is full of some chefs wacko combinations in a desperate attempt to be different. That effort is appreciated it just fails to taste good, sorry. We’re going to give it another shot in a few months if they are still there.
