Second Review– Seriously rethinking my previous opinion of STACKED. I loved my first experience at this restaurant, but after tonight, not so much. On a Friday night at 730pm I was happy to be told that there was a wait to be seated. What I didn’t expect was to see 5EMPTYTABLES on the patio and be told«sorry, we can’t seat anyone for 2HOURS because our reservation system is broken.» So, you turn away customers now in the hope that your system catches up in 2 hours??? Money lost.

I love the spicy Mac & Cheese with shrimp and extra cheese. I could eat a large bowl of it all week… so good! Happy hour has some pretty bomb drinks until 6:30pm. Try the mojito, you won’t regret it.

Great food and awesome service, delicious milk shakes. The waiters are very nice. The only problem was that it took 20 mins to complete the transaction at the end. The tablets weren’t working and it was being glitchy. Other than that, A1. YEEYEE

3 stars because of the food! The service here is seriously lacking. For those who have not dined here, you order your food off of an iPad(which is pretty cool). A waiter/waitress is assigned to your table and then you order and send your own food and drinks to the kitchen through the iPad, the waiters don’t have to do anything but maintain your table and bring out your food BUT they don’t. I’ve been here a couple of times now and I am always disappointed with the service, just because you don’t have to take my food order doesn’t mean you can completely ignore my table unless I have to flag you down. Just very frustrating experience every time, I shouldn’t have to fight for attention in a restaurant!

2 stars removed —- I was on a wait with plenty of seating open My daughter was given a dirty plate and the guy who brought it was annoyed when I asked for a new one. Almost every plate we were given was in bad shape — apparently from the dishwasher. I would NEVER serve my guests on plates that looked like that. I brought it to a servers attention because they actually looked dirty — would you want to eat off of dirty looking plates? The server was unhelpful and the manager who came by appeared flummoxed and rude. As an area manager myself, I would never approach any guest this way. She made the situation much worse and I’m not even sure why she came by except to tell us they don’t give out dirty dishes — ummm yes you do, my daughter was given a plate that I was scraping dried food off of before I finally just asked the rude gentleman for a new one. Despite the myriad of problems I have, the food is usually really good and it’s my daughters fav place … So we come back. This time, my chicken burger wasn’t great and I had pieces of orange peel in my salad — not appetizing. I have high standards when it comes to food and service, but there’s not a great excuse for the amount of issues that occur here. Stacked, I love you but you’re not good for me

Great burger but even better service! Party of 11 with 5 kids isn’t easy but our waitress was always there and gave us unbelievable service.

I AMABSOLUTELYOBSESSED with their chipotle Mac and cheese. This place is so good stop what you’re doing and get over there as fast as you can(as long as they are open) if not then go the next day. Everything here is so good and the best part is you can order whenever you want! They have iPads where you put in your order and customize it with the options they have. I would eat here everyday if I could!

I have eaten here twice and the service and food has been outstanding. From the environment to the staff the experience has been wonderful. The food is what I would consider unique, filling and an all American meal. I was impressed with the wide variety of gluten-free options available. Looking forward eating here again soon.

I am giving this place 3 stars because in theory I don’t have to talk to a single person. However, this is only in theory, I often find myself being asked if I understand how this restaurant works. And I have used an iPad before. So yeah, I get it. Food was aiight. Go here if you’re like me, an asperger that doesn’t want to talk to anyone, but DOES want to review things on Unilocal!

Stacked is an awesome traditional american restaurant. With their unique way of creating your own meal, you can never go wrong. You order straight from a tablet. Relax, just because you are a little older & not so tech savvy, I promise they made it super easy. The pretzel bun with 2 patties, fried egg,(Oh you want fries in your burger?) COMPLETELYDOABLE, and some caremelized onions? Every bite is so good, the more you eat, the more you begin to fall towards depression that it’s all almost over… You know what never works out though? I plan to always save some room for those beautiful shakes in tall glasses those servers walk around with but I yet to be able to do so… You know what else is confusing? I never know who I am suppose to throw the tip to. The iPad? Anyway, go eat your heart out but make sure to save some room for the tall mint shake!

We love this place. We only eat here once or twice a year but every time we visit, it’s been a hit. Ordering on an iPad can be challenging, but is also very advantageous because you can order everything EXACTLY the way you want it. We usually order their creative burgers here and never had a bad one. Their fries are great, too(the skinny, crispy kind). The place is kid friendly and the staff has always been very accommodative. Use a Unilocal check in special and try it out yourself.

Still 5 stars for us… I spend way too much with two almost teenage boys. BTW, want to see what a 20.00 hamburger looks like that your son swears he will eat??? Take a look at the pic we posted…

My husband and I stopped here for a quick lunch on our way to Santa Barbara. The restaurant was clean and the décor was unusual but nice. They had dining areas outside, inside and in the mall at the entrance of the restaurant. I ordered the Cranberry and Walnut Salad and my husband ordered a juicy burger. We shared fries and onion rings. The service was a little slow but this gave us a chance to look over the menu. You have the choice of how to place your order. You can do it the ordinary way or you could use the iPad like device on your table. Once it was explained to us how to work the device it was somewhat easy. If you don’t what to have much interaction with a waiter/waitress this is the way to order. The food took a while to arrive but once it did it was delicious. Everyone was friendly and helpful and overall it was a fun experience. Not only can you order your food from the iPad device, you can check out as well using a credit or debit card.

Delicious comforting food, from my perspective. I ordered the lobster Mac n’ Cheese which was to die for. It was a huge a serving, which I can’t complain, sooo worth it. The cheese, the lobster and the crispy crums on the Mac n’ Cheese were amazing. Cute place to late night dine with friends. However, the service itself needs a little bit of improvement and the mini ipad concept needs to go. 1. It’s an inconvenience for large crowds 2. Not everyone is familiar with the latest technology, which can get a little frustrating. 3. You are expected to leave a tip for the services an ipad is inputting for you, not the server. Other than that, great food.

Good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The food here is good quality. The mac n’ cheese is great. There are many items on the menu, and with the touch screen tablet at every table, it allows you to customize each item however you like. Though we just came for dinner, I noticed that the bar was stacked with a lot of different choices of alcohol and wine. There are also a lot of tv’s around the restaurant, which would make this a great place to watch a game. I would come back.

We came here on a Saturday night and was able to get a seat at the bar– we were in a rush to catch a movie so the bar actually worked out great. The staff behind the bar were personable and did a good job taking care of us. The ambiance in the restaurant is also nice– good lighting, TVs and seating all good. The reason for the 3 stars is for the food. I have tried a few things and all of it to me is just mediocre. Tonight we shared the nachos that all the staff said were the best/ok I’ll give it a try. One word: bland. The chips were crispy but for all the ingredients in the nachos nothing stood out– no flavors that popped while eating it. We only had half of it than took off. If your looking for a spot to grab a brew all good– for great food you may be disappointed with this place.

Came on a Friday night which was busy of course, but the wait wasn’t too long. Since it’s located inside the Thousand Oaks mall it gives you the opportunity to walk around while you wait. If you choose to while you wait, you can get a call/text when your table is ready. I like the idea of customization here, although in the restaurant world it can be a bad thing. Nevertheless it seems to work for them. Although you also get a server of sorts you order and close out your tab with a tablet that’s on each table which provides the menu and other things. The tablet is pretty easy to use but it takes a bit of playing around with as well; ask your server for help when needed. Their menu is made up of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, salads, pizzas, and Mac and cheese. They have a full bar as well. Lots to choose from especially with all the customization you can do. The cheddar chili fries were probably one of the tastiest I’ve had; the fries were on the thinner side. I also had the cheese burger bytes(three Angus burgers in mini brioche buns with sandwich condiments on the side), and rosemary chicken stacked Mac and cheese. Everything was hot and delicious and the mac and cheese was nice and creamy. Ended the night with their signature open faced ice cream sandwich(choice of two cookies an a ice cream flavor) which I unfortunately did not finish. The cookies seemed hard for some reason to chip away at when using the spoon, but when taking a bite you’ll find that this isn’t the case. I think the self ordering system is cool although I’d hate to always be touching it and I think it also brings a bit of confusion with the servers due to them maybe not always knowing what’s going on. Service was friendly and parking is abundant since it’s located at the mall.

Being from this area, there isn’t many places like Stacked around here which is why it is such a great concept for our location. Stacked has probably one of the best«build your own» burgers around. I have been to Slaters and this place is not even comparable to there. From the moment you are seated, you have an ipad at your table so you can put in your order. Your order goes straight to the kitchen cutting out the middle man(aka server). There are servers here to help you clear plates, bring you food but all of your orders are placed on the ipad, even drink orders. I have tried their mac and cheese, burgers and even salads. They have some of the best wings here too. They have a great kick and are well seasoned. So glad they are opening up more restaurants around SoCal for the convenience of their consumers!

This restaurant definitely lives up to its name — stacked. You can stack pretty much everything on the menu from hamburgers to desserts. The use of tablet ordering from your table makes the ordering process more visual and personal. I thought it might be more trouble than it is worth but it was actually very easy and great when you wanted to order dessert or a drink refill. The service wasn’t the greatest, we had to ask for just about everything but we didn’t have to wait too long for anything we needed. The onion strings were actually really good and you have a choice of several dipping sauces. For my meal I had the Mac and cheese pesto chicken which was pretty tasty. For dessert we made our own ice cream sandwich. you pick your cookie flavor, ice cream, and sauces. This was good but it would have been better if the cookies were softer. It was the really easy to checkout on the tablet. So much better than waiting for your bill etc. The food was good and the prices are fair but I wasn’t wowed by anything. I will say though that I like the idea of creating your own meal by selecting whats in it. There are a lot of choices on the menu and different combinations to create meals which makes me interested in coming back for another visit but I won’t be rushing back.

Customer Service: If you like your iPad more than you like talking to strangers this is place for you. Personally I wish all restaurants were as easy as ordering at Stacked. There is an iPad and a menu on each table. The iPad has everything on the menu plus a create your own option with an awesome selection of ingredients to pick from. It’s much easier for you to be as specific as you want without someone rolling their eyes at you and then messing up your order. Once you’re ready you hit the«Send to Kitchen» button and when your food is ready it is brought out to you. Not only that but this is also how you order your drinks & refills, so whenever you’re ready for a refill just tell the iPad. Food: the food is good. As good as you want it to be, since you«design» it yourself. Great for date night or large parties(splitting the check is soooooooo easy) honestly just come here because when you split the check you can tell the iPad what you’re paying for. It’s wonderful.
