Let me start by saying this place is amazing! Everything from the food to the service is spot on. Our server was so knowledgable if I had a restaurant I would ask him to work for me. We had the sliders for an appetizer and a Cobb salad. The salad was huge and so tasty. The sliders were delicious. We both had the salmon and I can say it was probably the best I have had in a long time. We shared the blonde brownie dessert and I was in heaven. I was surprised that more people weren’t here on a Saturday night but I’m hoping the word will spread. Amazing restaurant!!!

Oh no! I just gave a 5 star review at the end of last week because this place is usually awesome! I had dinner though here over the weekend and it was noticeably different and not nearly as good. I am not one to comment on my food to staff or send anything back, but I had to tonight as the food was awful. I mentioned that it was usually great, and was told that the chef I had just Unilocaled about had left and they were in transition. It was very obvious I hate to admit, but I’m sure they will get someone fantastic in soon as the last chef was amazing. I used to come here all the time when the happy hour let you get a very reasonable dinner for a good price. There was a discount special run this past spring, and I thought I would try dinner for the first time in 2 years. It honestly was one of the best dinners I have ever had. I even got my friends to sign up and ate here two more times. The dinners were truly exquisite, and I have to hand it to the chef. I will now save my pennies for special occasions, because the food is out of this world. Kudos to the Tiburon Tavern!

Came to Tiburon lodge after learning about it on Groupon. Had a delicious grass fed angus beef and literally was in heaven. To compliment the great food, staff was very kind and attentive. I will be coming here a lot more from now on because of this experience. Especially will be coming for their amazing happy hour!

I can’t tell you how poorly this place is run. They have scores of tables but don’t staff appropriately. So you get to pay for their parking lot while they figure out that they can’t get you a table.

I love my city. It’s really hard for me to venture out of SF but when I finally do, I discover beautiful places like Tiburon Tavern. The main draw is really their awesome outdoor patio. And the indoor space. Modern, pub-like, bustling. They don’t offer free parking(hey, just like SF!) but you can at least get it validated. Absolutely LOVED our fabulous entrees! with perfectly cooked halibut over a bed of basil risotto, tomato agrodolce and seared swiss chard. His Manhattan cut steak was cooked at the right temperature(medium rare) with fried fingerling potatoes, grilled chicories & watercress with a rich red wine jus. I liked my mezcal based Pisco Sour which is a nice alternative to the usual recipe. We had some unsatisfactory dishes. Our cebiche was bland. And the rice chips that came with it was an awkward vehicle for the fish. And knowing he has a sweet tooth, we got the poached pear tart. The vanilla bean ice cream was the redeeming factor of this dessert, but the otherwise hard(very difficult to break with a fork) tart shell and the almost raw pears didn’t make for an appealing dessert. Thankfully, service was fantastic and so attentive. If it wasn’t, it would’ve been a bummer due to the automatic 18% gratuity they charge on your bill. This isn’t directly disclosed, but expect that since you’re dining at a hotel restaurant.

We discovered the Tiburon Tavern late one Sunday ~ with a full all day menu, an incredibly gracious bartender and friendly locals who told all sorts of stories about their day. Good service. Delicious drinks. Relaxed vibe. I had a perfect Tiburon Cobb salad. And Pop’s hush puppies were obscenely delicious.(Ordered upon recommendation. I mean, who eats hush puppies?!) Incredibly, the Sunday brunch is available from 11a to 10p. Finding lots of choices for a nice dinner late in Marin County is nearly impossible. I have recommended this place to friends and plan to return again and again.

Loved the outdoor seating, not crowded the day we went. Menu had a variety, with southern style menu items. We had quite a few of the apps. Also tried the beer sampler. The wine tasting that they offer is served from an automated machine, next to the hostess stand, an awkward place to be as people are entering. We were unable to test it out, as it was out of order that day. There’s a public parking lot, near by few minutes walk about $ 3 per hour as I recall, and first 22 minutes if free, cash only. Near by there’s other bars and restaurants. Nice view of the marina.

Not sure why Tiburon Tavern needs to lure folks in with a Travelzoo deal — if you’ve ever been to Tiburon you’ll notice that this place is actually one of the more populated spots out there. And rightfully so — the atmosphere is relaxed, you’ll have a modern and spacious indoor area with bar and tv screens, and a nice outdoor patio with plenty of seating and heat stands for the cooler time of the year. The setting is beautiful and makes you forget you’re just a 25min drive away from the city. Definitely a nice getaway. The food didn’t disappoint: both the Ribeye Steak and the Seared Trout were delicious and nicely presented on the plate. The desert was okay: my teeth had to work a little bit too much on the pear tart. I also took the opportunity to break my «going vegetarian» for Lent right here. Good choice.

I wish I could give this restaurant a better rating, I just could not think of a good reason for it, and here is why: Some time last year, I was given by my friend a groupon deal for this restaurant as a gift. I had not had a chance to use it until today(I seldom came up to Tiburon). My friend and I spent an afternoon in the area, and decided to use the groupon. It was a $ 59 value for some set menu. On the coupon it read«Deal expires in July 2015. The value paid NEVER expires». We therefore assumed that it would be okay to use it. As soon as our server came, we asked if the coupon was still good, and he told us he would check with his manager for us. We then ordered some drinks. A few minutes later the server came back and asked if we were ready to order some food. I asked him AGAIN if he got a chance to speak with the manager about the coupon, and he said they were still checking and he was 95% sure it would be fine. We went ahead and ordered an appetizer and couple entrees. A few minutes later, our server came back and told us that the groupon I gave him had already been«redeemed» previously. I told him that’s not possible since it was a gift from a friend. He told me he would check with his manager again. A few minutes later he came back and said that they checked again and it was indeed«redeemed». At this point, we were thinking, okay, we already ordered all the food, might as well enjoyed the food and paid for the whole thing. I was going to check with groupon the following day about the incidence. A gentleman(most likely the manager) later on walked by our table and asked if everything was fine. We told him about what happened and how the server told us the groupon had been redeemed by someone else when it was a gift to me. The manager offered to double check for us. The manger then told us they were not able to «process the groupon» for some reason, and that they would have to call it in on Monday. He told us the restaurant would still honor the $ 59 value. I did not appreciate the way they handled the situation for the following reasons: 1. It’s okay if they told us about the«problem processing the groupon» the first time they checked, but why telling us twice that«it was redeemed»? I found that dishonest and very sketchy. 2. I handed the groupon to the server the first time he came to us so that he could check if it was still valid. I think as a server, you should know that the customers most likely wanted to know if the coupon was redeemable before ordering more food. Instead, he came couple times to our table for drinks and food and then told us afterwards the groupon was no good. We ordered the Fresh Fish Cebiche and it wasn’t bad. For the NY Strip Steak I asked for medium. It was dry and more like a well done to me. My friend ordered the Roasted Mary’s Chicken and said it was average at best. I had been to other restaurants in the area and definitely had better experience. I most likely will not return to this restaurant.

I visited the beautiful town of Tiburon a couple of weeks ago with a friend visiting from Spain and since we wanted something quick and recharge our phones, we found Tiburon Tavern to be the closest option. I would have rather be at the terrace enjoying the fabulous sun, but for charging battery purposes we sat at one of the corner tables that faced a very cool map of the area designed with chalks. Very nice atmosphere, excellent service. The angus burger was expensive but super worth its price. Excellent flavor and consistency and the fries accompanying it also crispy and perfect. I liked the different ambiances of this tavern although I could not enjoy as I wanted(due to lack of time). Ah! the coffee was also superb, nicely presented in pretty cups and, again, the service was super friendly and attentive.

The inside the place had a very cozy rustic feel to it, however, we opted to eat outside due to the nice weather. Ample patio seating with large umbrellas. Had the beef tartar. I’ve had this dish at other places before but I really like the flavor of the beef tartar they served here. Had a raw quail egg on top that I mixed in with the creamy sauce on the bottom. A perfect creamy fresh appetizer. Thumbs up!

I like the atmosphere, décor, and location but the food I’ve had in the last three visits just wasn’t great. Not bad, but below my expectations. The patio is nice, and I’ll be back, but will probably limit myself to a cup of coffee in the morning, rather than a full meal.

We were staying at the lodge and came down for a pre-dinner cocktail. It is a very pretty bar with outside seating. They have a well-priced happy hour with appetizers you could definitely make a meal of, and unusual cocktail offerings: I had the blackberry & elderflower Cosmo(there were 2 Cosmo’s on special that night the other was a strawberry something). My man had the spicy margarita special with cinnamon(more like a «red hot» margarita) — it was a lot of ice, not much cocktail. The drinks were on the small side– so for $ 7 each that was my only complaint. But the bar bill(up to $ 50) came off our room tab, so it was nice way to try the place without feeling ripped off. We came back after dinner for a glass of wine and a martini to use up the rest of our credit.

After our morning errands, we decided to have brunch in Tiburon. I’ve heard many good reviews about the food and happy hour. The ambiance is cool, rustic, romantic, casual. We wanted to sit outside but it’s too cold so definitely inside dining. I can see how people love coming here especially on a summertime — next summer, I’ll be here! :-) For appetizers we got the famous mussels; definitely, this is the best mussels I’ve had. I love mussel but I seldom order it because i don’t like the hair on it… lol. But the mussels here is «hairless»(lol) and delicious! It’s good for 2 people to share and it comes with 2 slices of bread(I wish they add 2 more) the juices of the mussels and have the bread dip on it… ohhhh…heaven! It could be just a grilled bread and let the juices do the work :) For drinks, I had the Peach Old Fashioned… oh geez! this is very strong! I mean VERYSTRONG! don’t get me wrong, I love it but I wasn’t expecting it as usually it’s less alcohol… lol For entrée, we had the Angus beef cheese burger with truffle aioli-medium rare and it was cooked perfectly! I love the fact the pickles is on a separate container, and presented on an open face plate so it’s up to you if you want the tomato, lettuce on your burger. The fries taste great but I like my fries a little bit more crispy(maybe next time I’ll let them know). We also had the CLT(Crab, Lettuce, Tomato) it comes with a potato chips. The crab taste good but it would be better if the bread is heated or warm on a grill for marks. We didn’t have any desserts as the choices wasn’t appealing to us. Will definitely come back for happy hour next time.

Great appetizer and the bartender«Ken», was social, polite, and knowledgable about the food selections. Happy hour 4−6pm with 25% off appetizers. Fun watching Ken do a photo shoot behind the bar for a local newspaper article. Good Luck…

Tiburon Tavern was kind of a disappointment for us while we were in the Sausalito area for a weekend. We had a wedding in Tiburon and the wedding party stayed at the Lodge at Tiburon, so the after party and the rehearsal were at Tiburon Tavern. The after party was somewhat of a joke for me from a hospitality standpoint, and they only had grilled cheeses on offer. There were a few different kinds of cheeses, but they all seemed the same and the proportions of cheese and bread were off. On top of that, drinks are not served on the outside patio after 11 o’clock, and we had to go inside after that. That was kind of a downer, since the inside is much more cramped near the bar. This restaurant has an adequately stocked bar, and the prices are a little bit higher than average. Because the Lodge at Tiburon that they’re connected to is expensive, I think they take that as an opportunity to gouge customers somewhat. I was not so impressed with the after party, so I skipped the breakfast because if you can’t do a grilled cheese right, how can I trust you with an omelette. :)

terrible place for saturday lunch(especially on the first saturday of the month when this siren testing from next door lasts for 2 – 3 minutes with super loud noise, and people are covering their ears indefinitely to shield themselves from this unbearable noise) Dungeness Crab sandwich — terrible, do not order, the crab doesn’t seem fresh and my friend had diarrhea after the meal Beef tartare — this one was pretty good Roasted carrots — Just OK, not great ingredients. I have made better ones at home.

Not a bad spot for a last minute brunch decision in Tiburon. The Salmon was lovely, but the backyard barbeque didn’t really shine like I hoped. Certainly a nice ambience with a trendy vibe, but the servers could be a little more present. I hear they have a nice happy hour… we’ll swing by again to give it a try.

Sitting on a patio, listening to a jazz jam was a nice way to spend a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon. There is some type of noise ordinance in Tiburon so the music wasn’t too loud. We were able to have a conversation with the person we came to see. I would suggest bringing a jacket, I didn’t and the cool bay breeze was chilly. They serve a Sunday buffet(it changes weekly) that includes two drink tickets. We were not hungry enough to spend $ 40 a person. The patio was not busy, but I did not feel that we could just sit there and listen to the music and chat. I ordered an appetizer and a cocktail. S had a class of wine. The deviled eggs – 4 halves for $ 8 were delicious, the yokes were creamy and had bits of pickled Jalapeño, smoked bacon, and chives as toppers and also in the yoke. The eggs were small and lucky for me S did want any. I ate all four tasty pieces. The spicy margarita was good. The heat came from a pepper liqueur, it would have been better if they used infused vodka. I still enjoyed the cocktail and I will enjoy another one when we return. I’m going back and forth on how rate this restaurant. The music and the patio are worthy of a 5 star review, and I would encourage people to stop in for music and an appetizer. However, I only tried the eggs and a cocktail and don’t feel that is enough to give them more than 3 stars. I suspect that this restaurant is at least a 4 star spot We plan to come back in the next few weeks. I think that the jam sessions will only be happening until the 1st weekend in September. They often have Groupon deals; I might get one so we can have a full meal. Oh, a Unilocal check-in will get you 20% off one appetizer.

I am glad to see their rating steadily going up and although I think this place should be a 5 star from the beginning but I guess customers in Marin are hard to please. Anyway, it has been three years since my first review, thought I give it an update. Been here many more times for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, not once the food was not tasty. Staff were always friendly and attentive. Food quality were always good and price is reasonable. Love dinning area both inside and out. This is one of the place to come to when I have friends in town.
