I take my Keeshond Chanelle here to get groomed almost every 2 months. At first she hated going there because she is a very shy and timid dog and doesn’t like going where a lot of dogs are. She’s been going there about 2 ½ years now and loves her groomer sarah! Sarah is the best and chanelle really is comfortable with her. She does an amazing job at grooming my baby and I’m never disappointed. I would highly recommend sarah as a groomer.

DON’T TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I overheard an upset costumer reporting a groomer who hit a dog! When the man approached the groomers about it they said «you don’t know what we go through» If a man is willing to not only say something to that person but also report it, it must have been bad!

Took our pup in to be groomed, and she was knicked and bleeding. They didn’t even tell us that it happened. Not an ideal situation. We have now bought our own grooming supplies, and it’s quite easy to do it yourself and about half the cost of one groomer visit! Oh and we haven’t cut her… just saying.

Great place! Sometimes it’s really hard to beat the convenience that big businesses afford!
Pet stores are my Jam!
I try to shop local businesses for all my pet needs! I only buy my cat treats and food at local stores! Big stores can’t keep brands on hand that are super fresh and expensive! They supply in bulk!
I run shelter dogs on the weekend and need superior leashes and other tools. I feel really bad about returning things, to the local stores, that don’t make the grade! I don’t feel guilty about returning items at big box stores!
I needed a chain leash today! I have a leash biter and need a bite proof leash! I can’t have an escapee!
I did shop at a couple local places first! I won’t say where! I was told that chain leashes are mean and that they would hurt the dogs teeth! Barf! I’d rather not have an escapee!
PetsMart might be a giant corporate chain, but they carry Chain leashes! LOL
This location also has impeccable customer service. Customer service is a quality that is lacking in Portland! It’s Maddening! Yes yes, I know, this place is Tigard!
I’m always happy with my trips to this place!

This review is for the grooming department. They were extremely rude. I took both of my dogs to get their nails grinded, my younger one (who is 10 lbs) was a bit scared and didn’t want to walk, the girl who was doing the nails just pulled her leash an dragged my dog across the floor! I was shocked! To make matters worse my older dog was given back with a gash on the top of his paw. They didn’t even mention it or apologize for it. I will NEVER go back to this grooming department.

We took our schnauzer in today to be groomed an decided to take our dachshund in when he was finished for a nail trim.
Upon picking up both there were two things that happened
1. Mylo tends to get red beard from a combination of food allergies we are working around and licking his chops a lot. We had specifically asked for no red to be left on his beard, just like the last time when a different groomer handled his cut, however he came back with a good amount of red around his beard, so already I was not 100% satisfied since I specifically asked for that particular piece of grooming.
2. As we were leaving, One of the groomers with faded blue hair mixed with other colors (we assume she was the groomer Britney but could be wrong) makes a comment about the collars our dachshund was wearing asking if he had behavioral problems. We responded that he does, and she replied by asking what training we use so she can avoid using it on her dogs in a very rude way. We told her it was the balanced dog program and she responded by asking if we knew that small dogs shouldn’t use etraining collars, and if that brand we had was for smaller pets, again in a way suggesting we had not researched the training method for our dog. Lastly, she mentioned that our prong collar was also on wrong and that they should be loose and not snug on him.
My issues with this are:
The advice was completely unsolicited and delivered in a very rude way.
Also her advice shows that she is not trained in the use of the collars in the following two ways.
1. The collar he has is a herm springer, top of the line and a rounded prong collar. Every manual and every dog blog explains that prong collars need to be worn snug and not loose because if worn loose it can cut or puncture the dog in a dangerous area when they pull too quickly. (Imagine the difference between someone resting their Palm on your cheek and then pushing forward, versus slapping you in the face from a distance to visualize what I mean). Additionally, our dog has been well trained for walks and walks with a loose leash so the collar rarely comes into play any, ore anyways.
2. There are pros and cons to the ecollar like all training methods, however we have thoroughly researched it and have made our own conclusions. In addition, we made sure our trainer used them on his own dog and had for several years without any emotional or behavioral problems. Additionally, the collar we use fits his neck, and very clearly was marked mini, which tells me she also didn’t bother to look to see if it was the correct size for collar for his weight and breed, but likely was just trying to make her opinion known on her belief of the use of ecollars in general.
However pascal has almost died because of his past behavioral problems several times, and led us to trying this training method, and ever since we started him, we have enjoyed a happier, closer relationship with him.
We were very happy the first time our dog was groomed, and will give petsmart another try with the first groomer, but we love our dog to bits and have invested a lot of time and energy in his happiness and safety so we do not appreciate when a person we are hiring to clean our dog tells us we are hurting him or don’t know what we’re doing

This place has had a big turn around! Lots of great friendly people! Great groomers who will do whatever they can to make sure you and your dog or cat leave happy!

DON’T take your dog here for a groom — unless you want him to come home cut up and Unilocaling when he walks around because they cut him in four places and didn’t tell you about it. Actually, let me correct that: they blamed one cut on his private parts to a potential lump and swelling– which are in fine condition and just have a nice slice in them now. Granted, that was the only cut I left knowing about and found his ear leathers with a significant amount dried blood on them, one of his quicks bleeding and a cut on his tail. No wonder he started loosing it and wouldn’t let you finish so he came home unfinished. And they had the audacity to suggest a potential pre-​existing problem on the single cut I left knowing about.
You might say, oh, you just got a bad groomer. But I’ve tried this place three times and not had a consistent experience and often if I request the same groomer, they’re no longer there.
Take your dog and your money elsewhere. You’ll both be much happier.
Update: They will work with you to make a wrong experience right. I went to the attached Banfield and they covered the bill and my dog’s medical needs and reimbursed the grooming fee.

About two years ago this store was great– well stocked. But over time, the supply has dwindled. Whether I need bird food, cat supplies, or dog supplies, every thing I need is sold out. It’s getting ridiculous.

Great for me if I need to pick up some cat food quickly, but I prefer taking the extra time and heading all the way out to the Cascade Station or Beaverton locations where the customer service is exceptionally better and friendly. This location I feel are a bunch of kids working for a paycheck. Attitudes and indignance.

The store is well stocked, the staff is friendly when you can find someone, the staff in grooming never smile, and the professionalism in regards to dog training is nonexistent.
I signed up for training. Was called the day before to confirm, I called the next day to confirm and be told the class had been changed due to lack of attendance. I was told the coordinator would call me back that day, no call. I called after the weekend, was put on hold for over 20 minutes, transferred to numerous depts — more than a few times to the same depts, was finally told the coordinator would call me back, and no call. I called again the next day, same BS. I cancelled my registration for training and got a refund.
Go elsewhere for training — it was a headache dealing with PetSmart.

This petsmart is very convenient for sw/​tigard peeps. Its never busy and the staff has always been friendly. Parking can be a pain but its a pain everywhere

I have always preferred Petsmart to Petco. This particular one was very accommodating to me… I bought a small, cute pet mouse for my little girl to have as her very own first pet, along with a cage, bedding, food, one of those balls they can run around on the floor in, the whole works. We tried it out and it just wasn’t working :(I took everything, mostly opened, back to the pet store and explained it to them. They refunded EVERYTHING, no questions asked.
Though I do feel like this place is understaffed, when you do get someone to help you, even if you have to wait a minute or two, they are helpful and friendly which goes a long way with me.
No complaints here.

When I went to look at fish I noticed they had 4 dead Betas on the shelf.
FOUR OF THEM.
In fact, one of them had been there awhile because he had started to rot.
I would like to know what kind of a Pet Store doesn’t seem to care that their fish are dying and rotting on the shelves.
If I want dead fish I’ll go to a seafood market.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR GROOMING!
I just wanted my dogs face trimmed a bit and the workers there were very rude and my dog looks so bad. I was very specific in my directions about how to trim her and well I guess they couldn’t comprehend those instructions. I would recommend one of the upscale groomers, it’s worth the money to have kind groomers who are competent.
The selection of treats/​toys is good.

My review for Petsmart in Tigard would have been better if it weren’t for the last time I took my dog in to get groomed.
Overall the store is clean and has a good selection of food, toys, blah blah blah for both cats and dogs. Although two weeks ago I went to get a toothbrush for my cat and they only had dog toothbrushes, I want a little finger brush for my cat, not a big dog brush!
So we buy our dog her food there, and my neighbor one time told me they have good prices for grooming, so we started taking Phoebe there to get groomed, $ 26 for a 65 pound lab is a good price. Of course they always try and upsell you when you go in — they want you to get the de-​shedding package, and the toenail clipping, etc. We did get undercoat de-​shedding thing once, it helped a little bit but not enough to justify the cost, I think it was an extra $ 20 or something. All I want is to get my dog cleaned and have her anal glands drained (fish-​butt occurs every now and then, and I will never drain those things, one time the vet wanted to show me how to do it… no thanks bro!). So a couple weeks ago we had some company in town and wanted to get Phoebe cleaned up, they asked me if I wanted to have her nails clipped and I said no, so I dropped her off, and after picking her up, we got home and I noticed blood all over our kitchen floor. After looking at her feet it totally looked like they started clipping her nails and then realized they weren’t suppose to do it and stopped, but this one nail was cut waaay shorter than the others and was bleeding all over the place.
My wife was pissed! She called them and the groomers tried to tell us that they didn’t do it, it was from the concrete… Wtf? Come on, I didn’t fall off the turnip truck yesterday. Anyway they ended up giving us a free grooming for her next time, but I don’t know if we will go back. Just kind of frustrating that they denied doing it.
I’m not expecting my dog to get the royal treatment from a place like this, but I do expect her to get treated well. The first couple times we went there they would also give us a «Paw-​Gress Report» which is kind of cute but they haven’t given us one of those either the last 3 or 4 times we’ve taken her in.

Clean, close to my work, friendly staff, next to winco… awesome! Food for us and food for the lizard perfect in my book. One stop shopping. Love it~

My buddy shops here regularly and I came along today. It’s easy to get to, but what really struck me was the size. The square footage may not be very different than most, but it FEELS palatial! The entryway has standard 12-​foot ceilings but just inside it opens up to 30-​foot ceilings, and they do a decent job of using the space. I felt like a character in «Honey, I Shrunk The Kids!» when looking at the 6-​foot tall parrot looming overhead and the 4-​foot long hamster running in a giant exercise wheel.
Selection is pretty standard, and my buddy had little trouble finding a 15-​pound bad of rabbit food. You can also take advantage of grooming services and an on-​site animal hospital.

I have to agree with the above poster. There were too many dogs in the class, so most of the dogs were way too distracted to learn. The trainer obviously loves dogs and knows her stuff, but there was way too much talk and not enough guided practice. However, I guess when you sign up for the group classes, that’s probably the «norm.» I am going to do individual training for the next batch.

This Petsmart is a little bit cluttered, but it is head over heels better than the Petco around the corner.
I like Petsmart because it is always clean & doesn’t smell like animal. Don’t get me wrong, I like animals– but only my own. This Petsmart is also special because it has an animal hospital incorporated, and they run dog training courses.
