We have been to Domo several times and really enjoy it. The presentation is 5 star and the servers are always extremely friendly and knowledgeable about ingredients as some of our friends have food allergies. My only reason for not giving this restaurant a 5 star is because my favorite eel is my favorite sushi and there is very little eel on the sushi menu. However, when I asked for eel and eel sauce to be substituted for another fish, they were very accommodating. Maybe I should just change the 4 star to a 5 star…

Amazing sushi, the calamari was fresh and everything was so perfect. Servers were extremely friendly and on top of our orders and drinks. Perfect food and service. We will DEFINITELY be eating here again.

Tried Domo Sushi for the first time for lunch while I was in town visiting family. A friend of mine suggested it and I was craving sushi, so I met her there. The service was fast, friendly, and very attentive — they kept our water glasses full and made sure we had everything we wanted. Funny enough, despite craving sushi, I ended up ordering udon instead — it sounded delicious. And it was! I settled on the lunch special of shrimp tempura and udon soup. The tempura was the only disappointing part — the batter was soggy and the tempura a little cold. The udon soup was DELICIOUS though. Hot broth, huge portion of noodles, fresh herbs, and tasty mushrooms. I enjoyed the miso and edamame we started with as an appetizer — and satisfied my sushi craving with an order of tuna nigeri. The tuna was fresh — and plated beautifully. Overall, very happy with my first Domo Sushi experience.

Hello, I would like to write a review for Domo Sushi. Recently I went to Domo Sushi and was greeted by the manager Matt, and let me say he was absolutely wonderful! I’ve never seen such a charismatic handsome individual in my life. Oh did I forget to say he’s the manager as well! Matt was so polite and sat us at a great table he was very funny and knowledgeable about the menu list. When he informed us of the menu he never once was mean to us, which I can really appreciate. When we got our food it was absolutely terrific. Best sushi in Toledo! If anyone does make their way to Domo Sushi you better pray to the high Lord himself Matt is your server because my God what a great server and even a better manager! I just personally want to thank Matt for the great service you provided to make my night that much better!

Sushi chef does not talk to guests at the sushi bar. Have sat at the bar 4 times and can barely get a peep out of him. Atmosphere is a little cold. Food is a 3.5 but keep having other reasons to rate this place lower. A place to go get crazy rolls and lunch bowls.

My friend and I came here because we want some noodle and sushi. It was a pleasant lunch until we were sooo offended by the server — Matt. My friend ordered the Sushi Bento box which includes a California roll, three pcs of Nigiri sushi and four pcs of Sashimi. She can’t speak English so she let me ask if we can choose the fish. She told me she only likes salmon and Tuna. I asked Matt if we can only have Salmon or Tuna for our Nigiri and Sashimi in the Bento box, he said«No problem!» He never mentioned there will be any extra charge if we select the fish until we see the bill. There is $ 4 extra charge for choosing our fish instead of «chef’s pick». I questioned about this $ 4 charge because:1) we were never told before we order and there is no statement on the menu says customers’s choice over«chef’s choice» will be any extra. 2) Even it does, I don’t think the difference worth $ 4. Because we are NOT choosing the most expensive fish on the menu, it’s just the average price fish. The bento box itself only cost $ 13.95. If we knew it will be $ 17.95, we would not have ordered this way at all. After I express my concern, Matt’s attitude turns into hell. He does not respect his customers at all. He yelled at me, said«yes I didn’t tell you in advance which I should have. I’m sorry but that’s the price! I’m not gonna do anything about it and now you’ve already eaten, so you can just pay and leave!» We are shocked by Matt’s attitude. I requested to talk to a manager and he told me he is the manager. If I want to talk to the owner I have to call at night. I’ve eaten at hundreds of restaurants and never met a waiter so rude after he HIMSELF failed to notify the customer the price before they order and tell them«JUSTPAYANDLEAVE». I am surprised a good restaurant would hire such a waiter/manager with no manner. And it’s definitely not the Japanese culture would tolerate because it values the customer service above all. $ 4 is not a big amount. For the meal we have as today normally we will pay more than $ 4 as tip. But today I paid none to Matt. Although we paid our bill, we still think he or the restaurant menu should disclose any charge before guest order. The customer has the very right to know what they are expected to pay for. And I still think to add 30% to the total price just because we wanted Salmon is ridiculous, salmon is NOT30% more expensive than any other fish and even we didn’t ask there would still be some Salmon from the«chef’s pick». We didn’t really get much«EXTRA». The most unacceptable thing is, after we were blinded about the price, the server Matt yelled to us «Just pay and leave!», I told him I will share my experience with the community but he said he doesn’t care. I feel so ashamed to recommend such a restaurant to my friend who has just come to Toledo from Asia for a short visit! Totally ruined our lunch.

You could dive right into their sushi and be completely satisfied. Personally, I recommend making reservations early because seats fill quickly during the weekend. Unless you prefer your beef well done and dry, simply avoid their asparagus and beef appetizer.

I haven’t spent some much on sushi in a long time! The quality and freshness is excellent. I roll I got for $ 24 with lobster in it was disappointing. It was a little too rich and for 8 pieces not worth the buy. But the Dragon roll and the combo of American rolls(24 pieces– Alaskan, California, Boston, Philadelphia) was a good bargain. I wish the tables were less economic. One of the freshest sushi spots in Toledo.

Always so amazing! Fast and friendly service. Best sushi in Toledo! My husband and I went for lunch today. We were served right away. They had a full drink menu. Along with a bunch of craft beers. We recommend the«White Raja» craft beer. Sushi came out fast even though they looked pretty slammed. We highly recommend.

An exquisite experience with a marvelous selection of sushi and entrée’s. While the portions are Americanized the feel and atmosphere of this restaurant is exceptional and makes you feel like you are welcome at every turn. The art and stylized lay-out feel cozy and open in a surprisingly small space and the servers are by far the most vibrant I have experienced in this type of eatery. I was delighted to partake in the following rolls and I will rate them according to how I felt. Pink Lady — A wonderful fish range and a complimentary sauce to top; this roll is one to beat. Great taste and great price! However the pink soy wrap may be off-putting to some. Three Musketeers — slightly under whelming but also one of their cheaper rolls. Overall it is very delicious but needs something extra(Soy/Wasabi) to really up it to the next notch. Overall average/Above Average Dragon roll — I love Domo’s rendition on this roll and it is quite the unique experience. They offer a customization roll with this one as you can choose from several different fish for the internal component. The flavor is phenomenal and the freshest avocado I have had in years. I recommend this roll to anyone who has a picky fish preference. I would also like to point out that the Sushi Chef’s are amazing here. They are able to make every combination of rolls stunningly unique in design no matter the variable. Every dish I saw come from the Sushi station looked like art on a canvas.

I’ve been to Domo several times, and overall, I am ambivalent about the restaurant. To start with the positive: overall the food is good. In particular, I greatly enjoy the sushi bar appetizers, which offer interesting possibilities and have always come out excellent. The rolls and kitchen entrees are also pretty good, but not spectacular, and as others have said, for the price you pay at Domo, you expect excellence. Domo also offers an interesting selection of drinks, which I appreciate as I find it fun to sometimes try a new beer or wine with my meal when I go out. If I were reviewing Domo only on the food, I would give 4 stars. However, the service at Domo ranges from bad to awful, and in my experience has been consistently bad no matter what time of day/week I have gone. First off, Domo is incredibly slow at everything. Once you are seated, expect to wait 15 – 20 minutes for your server to show up and expect very infrequent check-ins. Sushi orders take 30+ minutes even if the restaurant is mostly empty. The hot kitchen is a bit faster, but I don’t go to a place like Domo to not order sushi. Overall, when I have gone to Domo to get an appetizer, entrée, and dessert, it has taken about 2 hours total, which is much longer than comparable restaurants. Despite the slowness, the staff gives off a vibe of constantly being in a hurry and too busy for you. My waitstaff will show up(after 30 minutes MIA) to ask how things are and then by time I begin to answer they have already started walking away. If you do need something, you have to shout after them. The waitstaff also disappear into the back for long periods of time. This behavior has been consistent across waitstaff, so I am guessing the problem is due to the restaurant management assigning waitstaff responsibilities that make it hard for them to be attentive to patrons rather than a bad waiter or two. Domo certainly has its good qualities, but the experience of eating there will be frustrating for all but the most patient of restaurant goers, and for the prices they charge, I think you can find a better dining experience, sushi or otherwise, elsewhere.

When my friend and I are in the mood for good, quality sushi, we always go to Domo. It’s not the cheapest in town, but the meal is always delicious. I’ve never had chirashi anywhere else, but I love the Domo spicy bowl. It tastes as good as it looks, and is full of flavor. The cocktails tend to be great as well, and I always get the Pear tree martini.

Very average sushi place, even for Northwest Ohio. I was not very impressed with either the service or the quality of the sushi, which was disappointing after reading some of the excellent reviews. First off, I came in a group of 7 on a busy Saturday night, and we had to wait about half an hour at the bar to even be seated. Didn’t mind too much as I understood that we had a large group and the hostess was trying to be accommodating. However, after we finally got seated and ordered, we had to wait about another 45min to an hour before getting our food, and at that point the restaurant was clearing out so it wasn’t even that busy. The waitress serving us was very sweet and friendly(I would give her 5⁄5 if I could) and we were able to entertain ourselves, but that wait was still kind of ridiculous. On top of that, they told one of my friends after we had been waiting a long time that they ran out of the tamago she had ordered and asked her if she wanted to order something else instead, but at that point she was like, just forget it. So, after the long wait, I was looking forward to some fantastic sushi and was pretty disappointed. My sister and I split a negihamachi roll, a spicy salmon roll, and the Three Musketeers special roll(combo of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and some veggies in a spicy sauce). They tasted decent but not particularly fresh or flavorful, and they were only 5 – 6 pieces per roll. Maybe some of the fancier rolls might have tasted better, but I thought they were pretty overpriced at ~$ 14-$ 20 a pop. Ironically, we all finished eating in like 10 minutes. My favorite part of the meal was actually the pear tree martini we had ordered when we were bored of waiting lol. Very delicious and refreshing! Overall, pretty average sushi place. I think you can find better sushi in Toledo at a more affordable price and much less wait time.

Have I mentioned I come here often? I dine here at least once a month. Domo simply put is the best sushi restaurant in Toledo. It’s also the most expensive, but you get what you pay for. Ignore anyone that feels different than I do. I’ve eaten at the best sushi restaurants in Japan, and all across Asia. I know what I am talking about. Like nigiri? Well it’s absolutely amazing here. It’s cut well, it’s fresh, and you get HUGE portions. The special rolls are also massive and delicious. The godzilla roll is near impossible to fit in your mouth. Try the seared Ahi Tuna on the kitchen menu. My friends and I usually get this as an appetizer, and I haven’t met anyone that thought it was less than amazing. I can’t really stress how this is the best place in Toledo to be eating sushi if you aren’t on a tight budget. Check it out!

I’m so glad Domo has re-opened. I’ve been craving the Godzilla roll and finally got to have my fix. I don’t know everything on it… eel shrimp tempura cream cheese cucumber tempura flakes… its so delicious. It’s $ 18 which is expensive but it’s huge and worth every penny. I also really recommend the tuna dinner… I don’t know what the sauce is they put on that but it really is to die for… and I mean it. It’s a nice place with pleasant servers… I could tell ours was new but if she didn’t know something she took the time to find out the answer for me. I’m looking forward to going back when I’m in Toledo again.
