Not bad but have had better. They couldn’t take my credit card so I had to go find an ATM to get cash. Not likely to return.

OMGTHERIBS!!! Saw this place on the side of the road and tried it on a whim– AMAZINGBBQ! We’re from out of state, so won’t be long-winded or fussy without merit. We aren’t gigantic people but we love to eat great food. RIBS, sauce, fried okra even the homemade desserts MMMMMMMmmm. True Texas hospitality(one of the only places we found it) and heavenly BBQ.

Oh my goodness! Why didn’t we find this place sooner? It’s actually one of the best barbecue joints in the North Houston suburban area. Super nice staff. Good brisket, great sauce. Texas sized portions. Really good prices! My husband considers himself a barbecue connoisseur and he actually loves this place. He is a huge Cooper’s fan if that tells you anything.

We have ignored this place for years, but decided to give it a try about a month ago and have been back several times since. Rustic atmosphere and friendly staff. Have tried the ribs, links and brisket, all good. Chicken not so much. Beans, slaw, okara and potato salad are all good.

The chicken fried steak was not too Bready, and the ribs were meaty. Super polite service and it was clean. Only very minor complaint was the homemade mashed potatoes were a touch dry and bland(but we did catch them near closing time so…) Oh also, the beans had some kick to them, yum! Our new favorite place!

I love the rustic dining room. It’s very old-school and definitely fits the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food was uneven. I thought the ribs were really good, very well seasoned and mildly smokey. They were tender with just a bit of resistance. Nicely done. Unfortunately, the brisket was a big whiff. It was tender, they got that part right, but it had no seasoning at all. No bark, no smoke flavor, nothing. It may have been oven-roasted for all I know. Not cool. Definitely use the(very good) sauce on the brisket. Sides were your typical just-OK barbecue joint sides, though they did fry the okra fresh when I ordered it. Much appreciated. Service was strange. Order at the counter, sit down and eat, then pay on your way out. Though the register wasn’t always staffed, and the same guys who were taking orders had to keep jumping back into the kitchen to cook, too. It seems they need a little help in the staffing department. There was a lady walking around doing drink refills sporadically, but not really doing full service. Everyone was friendly, though. Not a bad place if you’re close and hungry, but not destination dining.

Really good bbq! Got the ribs, brisket, and half a chicken. The ribs is really smokey, Jamaican chicken smokey(if you’ve been to Jamaica, it’s the best!). Brisket was a bit dry so I took out a star. Also, fancy potato mashed potato and potato salad — wow I became a PotatoHead!

Struck out at the Rib Tickler for lunch, so decided to try this place. The staff was super friendly, the ribs were awesome, smokey flavor, good texture and no sauce needed. We also had the bbq baked potatoes. Excellent all around! Their tea was actually really good too. I am a bbq smoker with several rigs at my home, it was nice to take a break and let someone cook tonight!

We were coming back to town after a great hike in Huntsville. I Unilocaled this place and we decided to risk it since there was no review. The place is adorable and the food fantastic. The owners of the restaurant were just lovely and you can tell they enjoy sharing good food. I had the ‘Super Spud’ with pretty much everything on a giant baked potato. It had BBQ beef, sauce, sour cream, bacon, chives, cheese, jalapenos and pickles. It was so very, very delicious. Hubby had the special which was a pork BBQ sandwich and some chips. The pork was so tender and flavorful. All in all this is a perfect stop and a great way to get those well-earned calories after a hike!
