Best Western Topeka Inn & Suites

We arrived and checked in. The lady at the front desk called housekeeping to make sure our room was ready and she said it was we went to our room. Sat our things down and about 10 – 15 minutes later housekeeping just walked in with no knock and then turned around and walked out after. Rip in the chair. There was only one sheet and a thin blanket on the bed no comforter. Two towels. I would not stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel on our way home and chose this place because it was pet friendly. The pictures are just and the staff was very friendly. There were a few little quirks but nothing to get excited about. The overall feel was very comfy and of exceptional quality for the price. Plus the front desk didn’t charge «full price» for our dog, which was a very kind gesture I thought. Very clean and fresh smelling.

Stayed here two nights for a convention. Booking through Best Western we got a better price than what the convention had negotiated at other area hotels. The place was totally full due to a soccer tournament and a wedding in addition to our event. The staff was very friendly and efficient, not seeming to let the constant flow of people get to them at all.
Lobby and room are very clean and pleasantly appointed, although nothing special. Unfortunately the bed and chair in the room are very uncomfortable. The desk chair was more comfortable to sit in than the chair with ottoman, which felt like a hard block of foam. Was disappointed that they did not give the choice of whether to change linens every day or not, we were given fresh towels but they did not change linens on the bed. There were only two towels in a room booked for two people, which I find unusual and does not work with my shoulder length hair.
As friendly as the staff are, I feel bad about the low rating, but comfort is very important to me.

A very nice hotel and a pleasant stay. We stopped by here for a good nights rest. Loved the high quality tv! My fiancé, father in law and i watched some really good syfy movies till midnight! There are a few things i should mention. The pool was warm and clean, but my issue lies with the privacy. My fiancé and i went to the pool, excited to swim for the first time in about two years. Before we even got into the water, three ignorant teenage boys hooted at me from the hot tub and i left in embarrasment. My fiancé reported it but the woman didnt do anything about it. We came back an hour later and they had left. We had started swimming and somehing had caught my eye. Several men kept «walking by», pausing to stare and run off when i caught them. After the 4^th or 5^th incident, i moved to the hot tub, which had enough bubbles to hide me. Really wish they had a more private pool!

The hotel was okay. The rooms met our needs on our drive across country… Comfy beds, a refrigerator. Also it was nice to have a free small breakfast and coffee. However, there were several major issues– there is NO elevator! So if you have a lot of stuff to carry in, request a room on the first floor. Unfortunately, we hadn’t thought to ask that until we had brought half our stuff upstairs. Huge inconvenience as I had several huge boxes of things I couldn’t leave in the hot car. There is a gym, but the equipment does not work well and really isn’t that safe. The treadmill feels like it jerks every few seconds and I couldn’t even get the bike to turn on. Even a stack of free weights would be a huge improvement.

where to begin with this nightmare of hotel. I booked the hotel online for a 15% off coupon. biggest mistake I ever made… since Its prepaid… you cant decline the room after seeing it. and also they wont add the points towards my membership. the staff which was one woman treated me like I was an inferior person because I had the room thru online, completely ignoring the fact that I have membership and I have stayed this year pretty much over 20 times in this chain. okey, now the property… there is barely space to park since most people (probably employees) park in between 2 parking spaces, and there was a trailer camper that used all the other available parking. the hotel is located in a really ugly area of Kansas (being that I drove the whole state I could tell the difference) the Hotel (or should I say motel) should not be even considered in this chain. it had a stench and its old and looks dirty. the rooms where definitly old and beat up. the beds (two queens) one was really rough and the springs can be felt pinching thru the matters and the other one it was so beat up that you would sink in the middle. the shower had mold in some parts and because of the quality overall I decided to pass on the breakfast since I could barely sleep with the snoring of the person in the floor above me. Really what kind of crappy walls you guys have that I could hear the guy snoring in the second floor. I had to climb the bed and smack the roof so the guy would wake up and I could sleep at least 2 hours. after this experience I decided never to stay in this chain again since it seems they are giving anybody their name.

I saw good reviews and that is why I made the reservation at Best Western Topeka. However, my one night stay was a bad experience for me.

and I checked in at 10:30pm. It was 22 degrees outside and my room had not been heated before I entered. I cranked up the heater and after 25 minutes, it was still not warm. Then I had to switch rooms and the second room was not warm until 1am, when I fell asleep.
I was able to talk to the manager in the morning who tossed out a weak and limp apology and tried to explain that they normally have warm rooms. Well, in my case, they could not initially find a warm room since they had to run around and turn on the heaters when I asked for a new room. I told the manager I was going to give bad reviews on Unilocal and tripadvisor unless she would demonstrate to me excellent customer service. Her reply: «Don’t threaten me. I will talk to
directly.»
Wow, can you say terrible customer service?
If they were to replace the hotel management, this would actually be not such a bad motel.

I LOVED this place. I stayed in a lot of holes on my cross country trip, but Topeka was one of the highlights of my trip. My room was bangin. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend ($ 80, including taxes & whatnot) but MAN was it worth it. Big room, high ceilings, coffee maker, fridge, MICROWAVE, firm king bed (I don’t know what your preference is, but I love a firm mattress,) and a recliner that I laid in to watch the sun set. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s very very nice and EXACTLY what I needed. A+.
OH! And the continental breakfast downstairs is excellent. They have a DIY waffle-​maker! What’s not to love?

Pros: Rooms are clean, they have an indoor pool, and they serve free breakfast everyday.
Cons: Staff comes off as rude, ceilings are not concrete so you can hear people above you doing God knows what.
Overall this hotel isn’t horrible, it’s for the business traveler looking for 4 walls and a roof, nothing more.
