I like Outback Steakhouse but have my worst experiences at the Torrance location. There service is absolutely terrible starting with the hostess. The waiters or waitresses never get your order right and food never arrives hot. I guess I’m gonna have to find a new location.

Shame on your staff and management Outback Steakhouse for having the audacity to ask two young men of color to «PRE-PAY» for their food because it was so «out of norm» for two people to order ~$ 100 worth of food. Had those been two young Caucasian males, they would have never been asked to pre-pay for their food. Shame on you.

Two young men were requested to PREPAY for their food because they were suspicious of them«dining and dashing». These two young men did not do anything to cause management to suspect this, other than be black. I will never dine in Outback again. This disgusting behavior is inexcusable and vile. This doesn’t deserve any stars… I feel like Outback owes me a few stars after this ridiculousness.

Went here for dinner tonight on a gift card we got for Christmas. We had not been to this place in awhile. We both ordered prime rib. My husband ordered his rare, I ordered mine med/well. My medium well ended ip being very well done– dry as a bone and tasteless. Even my husbands rare had little flavor. They do NOT follow the guideline on how to order how you want your meat cooked. We are retired and eat out often in many Torrance restaurants. I have to say this was the worst meal ever. Even the mac & cheese was awful. It seemed like it had been sitting for awhile & then reheated, plus it had something quiet spicy in it, mabe whatever was put on the top? I order it thnking mac & cheese would be mild… Ended up just eating my salad, some bread and we took the meat home to our dogs… Won’t waste our time & $$ here again, really gone downhill!

Best bang for your buck if you want a juicy steak! I am sad to see that they have gotten rid of the Outback Special. The meat menu is now a style where you pick a meat type and pick two sides. Pretty similar though, but of course they jacked the price up too. 11oz Outback sirloin — $ 19.99(best value and choice) 9oz Outback sirloin — $ 16.99 7oz Outback sirloin — $ 14.99 20oz Porterhouse — $ 26.99 12oz New York Strip — $ 22.99(not as good as the sirloin) For a side you MUST get a blue cheese wedge salad. It is now a $ 1 premium side, but it’s the best blue cheese wedge that you’ll get at any restaurant.

MANAGERFAIL … !! We had dinner at the Outback Steakhouse on Saturday evening(November 21, 2015). Our party consisted of 3 people … myself and two friends. We often(several times a week) drive together to go out for dinner. While the Outback in Torrance is 30 to 40 minutes from we live, our criteria for deciding which restaurant we’ll visit is based on quality and atmosphere, and not so much on distance. This was only my 4th dining experience at this Outback location, but the two friends I was with have dined at this Outback many dozens of times. We all like to enjoy dinner at the bar, and the bartenders(Jessica and Kevin) were awesome … attentive, hospitable, interactive and fun. For dinner, one of my friends ordered Salmon, the other ordered a Ribeye Steak and I ordered the Pork Porterhouse. An unusually long time passed after we had ordered and … even though we were having fun … we were about to ask«Where are our dinners?». We didn’t have to ask because(apparently) the time had been so long that one of the bartenders expressed concern before we could say a word. We did say that we were wondered what could take so long. When our dinners finally arrived, not only were the two meat entrees UNDERCOOKED … they were cold. Upon hearing from us about this, one of the bartenders went to get the«manager»(Angela). Instead of, at least, trying to appear to care that our food was undercooked and cold, manager Angela proceeded to tell us that the food was prepared as it should be and that we … somehow … didn’t know how to order our meat cooked. I got a little lesson from Angela, telling me what«medium rare» meant. I was a little irritated and I pointed out to Angela that I’m a 70-year old who has dined out very frequently most of my adult life … I know how to order meat the way I like it cooked … ANDALSO that there is even a freakin’ «legend» on the Outback menue that has descriptions and photos of the various levels of cooked meat. Angela did NOT seem amused or concerned. Our meat entrees were subsequently taken back to the kitchen and cooked a bit more. My friend was okay with his Refurbished ribeye Steak(he took half of it «to go»), but my Pork Porterhouse was a bit dry. At the risk of receiving another micro lecture from Angela, I ate my semi-vulcanized and slightly-shrunken(from the last time I had seen it) Pork Porterhouse. None of us are chronic complainers, and when we’re driving home after dinners, we are often talking about what a great time we had and how good the food was. After this dinner and during our half-hour drive back home, our conversation included discussion about why manager Angela had completely FAILED as a restaurant manager and that we would likely not be returning to this restaurant. At the Outback Steakhouse we EXPECT good food. This expectation is reinforced by the fact that the food has been(until now) very good there. When a customer makes a polite complaint that their steaks(or chops) are undercooked …(and this is not even considering that dinners did not arrive in a timely fashion) … a «manager» should, at least, PRETENDTOLISTEN to the customer and, at least, FAKE A LITTLECONCERN, instead of lecturing about reasons the customer might be wrong. Dear Mr. Outback. Your manager is the human face of your restaurant. Acting like a «manager» is important. Acting like a caring«human» is even more important. I want to stress that bartenders Jessica and Kevin were great. They care about customers and they know how to do their jobs.

Came here last night around 8:30 with my boyfriend and once we got in they took his name and handed him the buzzer thing– I prefer when that comes with an estimated wait time, but nope. We didn’t wait too long and got seated, my boyfriend ordered his gave appetizer: Aussie cheese fries. It comes with bacon on top and a side of Ranch. I like these fries, too. But when it got to our table the cheese wasn’t gooey anymore– cooled off too much before it got to our table. I ordered the 10 oz ribeye rare with garlic mashed potatoes and the house salad with thousand island dressing and my boyfriend got his sirloin with unlimited shrimp and a Caesar salad. I asked for some hot sauce and she said she’d bring out the Tabasco with our food. The servers changed shifts and she let us know, then said she’d bring the hot sauce now before leaving. That never came. We got our food. Asked her for the Tabasco and she brought it right over. I was happy to see that my ribeye was actually rare, the salad was ok, and the mashed potatoes were pretty good. There was some birthday party behind us with kids shrieking and a lady videoing with her bright light from her phone right into my boyfriend’s eyes– that was annoying. A-OK experience.

Not a top chop house by any stretch, however if your looking for a descent steak at a fair price point, I think you won’t be disappointed! If you happen to be a senior with AARP, show your card for 15% off your meal!

I have been eating here once a week for over ten years. The food and service have always been great. Extremely consistent. The staff was like the deck of the Star Ship Enterprise. The quality of the steak for the money has always amazed me. It’s not Flemings nor Mastros’ quality but nevertheless my order of NY strip steak has never had more than a small piece of edging that I had to leave on the plate. I have recently noticed a disturbing change — the quality of the steak has changed. At first three weeks ago I thought they brought me a sirloin by mistake but I didn’t say anything. the next week I mentioned it to the waiter and he didn’t say much. The steak last week was tough as well. The NY steak I ordered tonight was tough and it was tonight that I realized that what I thought was a sirloin a couple of weeks ago was their new cheaper version of NY steak. My wife noticed that her filet was tougher as well. But she only told me that after I told her about my experience tonight — but I am pretty sure that her steak must be a lower quality only because the change to the NY steak is so drastic. With the recent change in management has come it seems a change in the source of the steak. Plus we know that the drought in CA has left restaurant owners to figure out ways to serve steak without raising their prices too much. I hate to say this but I am looking for a possible change.

I’ve been here plenty of times over the years but tonight may have been an off night for them. The wait was pretty long, especially considering there were open tables. When we got our table, it took a long time to get our drinks and then an extraordinarily long time to get the food. If I had to guess, I would estimate over 30 minutes from the time we ordered until we received our food. I know we arrived at 6:30, waited about 30 minutes for a table and we left at 8:15, immediately after paying the bill, since I needed to get my kids to bed on a school night. Once the food arrived, it was good. I had a grilled salmon with vegetables and my kids got the chicken finger kid’s meal and a kid’s cheeseburger. My 8 year old daughter usually loves chicken fingers/tenders but said they were«spicy» and wouldn’t eat them. I thought she was being dramatic or difficult but I tasted one and although it wasn’t spicy, it did have a little«kick» to it, more than I’ve experienced with other kid’s chicken tenders. Just a headsup to parents that your kids may find their chicken tenders a bit spicy, compared to what they may be used to, from other restaurants.

Excellent food, but slow service. I’ve been here twice and both times have dealt with confusing information about wait times, which doesn’t start of a meal well. All of the food has been excellent and at the level of any top Outback. The Prime Rib is always delicious, and most importantly cooked to diner specifications. However, on my last visit with a large party our server was slow and seemed uninterested. It took a long wait for drinks, and we were never asked if we wanted refills or how our food was. I know it was a busy time and she might have been rushed, but this behavior really put a damper on the experience.

Went to dinner last night here for my Mom’s Birthday. Food was good but simple. I was watching my carbs so I had grilled salmon and steamed broccoli(450 calories/6 carbs). It was good but nothing I couldn’t have made myself at home. The Ahi tuna appetizer was very good, and the blooming onion(at 1900 calories) was tasty of course. Calling ahead worked well, we had a 10 min wait only for a large group. In summary, an OK place to eat out for simple food!!!

I thought outback was casual dinning not fast food. Negative stars if I could. Service is CRAP. Server believes the more customers she gets in and out the more tips she will get… WRONG! Service quality gets you the tips! I wasn’t able to get her name, she was lucky.(I got her name, Jessica D.) She assumed we were cheap and replaced our vegetable side just because we wanted soup AND salad, BOTH! Wow what a surprise. We wanted our vegetable side too! Then our french fries were wrong, beer was wrong, then she tells us we can’t pay at the front counter! OMG«Some restaurants you can, but not this one». OMFG! Do not recommend and don’t come here!

Happy hour here was pretty great. Our server was very professional. We were served their bread and butter along with our appetizers. The margherita flatbread was more like a cracker, but everything on top tasted good. Or course, I liked the bloom petals, which were pieces of a blooming onion. The peach sangria did not disappoint. I really can’t wait to go back

Finally used my Outback gift card I won at a work raffle. I can’t even remember the last time I had Outback. I couldn’t help but think of the commercial of the Australian –themed restaurant showing steaks, shrimp and chicken on the barbie lol. We had… –SIRLOIN and grilled SHRIMP combo– My steak was grilled and cooked to medium. Tender and flavorful. It came with 4 pieces of grilled shrimp and my choice of 2 sides. I had BLUECHEESE and PECANSALAD. It would’ve been a great salad but it was way overdressed making the lettuce a bit soggy. GARLICMASHESPOTATOES was smooth and creamy yum! –grilled TILAPIA with LOBSTER mushroom sauce with a side of BAKEDPOTATO. Fish was cooked nicely and the sauce was flavorful and had chunks of lobster. But it was a tad bit salty. El Hubby still enjoyed it though. Service was great. Our server recommended some of this favorite entrees and drinks. He checked up on us a few times and made sure we were okay. My only complaint was we were given a dirty booth. There were rice pieces and crumbs on your seats. I didn’t complain though. We cleaned it ourselves. Other than that we had a good experience.

I was hungry for steak when I arrived in LA, I went to this location around 9pm and it was not to busy and seated right away. Food was great specially the coconut shrimp ! I ordered sirloin with a baked potato and the bread was warm and soft. Food quality good so goes for the staff. I will return again. they have lot’s of parking since it’s located next to the mall
