Amazing sushi and service. The service was top notch, the lady who worked there is an absolute treat. Don’t be turned off by the unassuming façade, this place has quality.

I got delivery and my place is sort of hard to get to but the guys from Miya were really nice about it and called to make sure. They were really nice and got here fast. I had chicken teryaki which at first looked a little daunting because its all cut up and mixed but it was tasty and not bad at all. The rice was excellent and they even threw in a free california roll which was really nice. I’d probably order again. Their service was fast and the food was pretty decent.

DONOTDOIT! We ordered teriyaki salmon, cold noodles, salmon rolls and dumplings… and threw literally everything away. The salmon roll was not fresh, the salmon was over-cooked, and the dumplings just had a weird taste. On Order Up this location has good reviews which is baffling! Again… not fresh, dont do it.

I was the first customer one day. I walked in and they screamed«FIRSTCUSTOMER, FIRSTCUSTOMER». This was very welcoming. The sushi was pretty good and a free soda too ;)

Nicest staff ever– extremely accommodating and always bring out complimentary rolls. Great food, prices and location right on York Road!

Pretty much the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Not that the fish was bad or anything, just the most sloppy unimaginative thing I’ve ever eaten. I had spicy tuna rolls and it was just a massive amount of tuna(good tuna though) in a hastily made roll, not even enough rice to cover the seaweed. There was so much tuna I had to scoop some out of each piece to balance the texture. Put something else in the roll, cucumber, avocado… Anything.

Miya sushi provides welcoming service and the staff are very friendly but the raw sushi is not fresh by any means whatsoever. I won’t return because the sushi looks old!

We ate there recently. Nice people, but the fish quality was very poor. Unilocal insists on me writing more, apparently, because the first time it considered this review just a «tip». But that’s my review, and brevity is the soul of wit. What’s more, I don’t believe in piling on for a negative review.

I’m judging this place on what I experienced last night. I wanted a decent sit down restaurant to enjoy some sushi. When I walked in the place looked really old. Tables were tightly placed together. They had the soda fountain out in the open like a fast food place. The décor was worn and old. They had one of their children just sitting at one of the tables in the open. It just didn’t leave a good impression. I hope they up their game when it comes to their appearance. I couldn’t get my date to even come in, so I didn’t get a chance to sample the food. I couldn’t blame her. Looking at the impression that the outside gives, you have to wonder if they even care about making safe food.

The customer service is amazing. It took a really long time to get my food, but they were making the rice fresh, gave me a free roll, good conversation, and even offered to deliver instead of having me wait — therefore not an issue! The place is owned by a sweet couple who’ve had this location for 4 years. They’re right across from Towson University — great location for students. The sushi unfortunately was not too good. The rice was partially falling off the rolls. I ordered spicy tuna, salmon avocado, and a specialty roll that was baked with tuna and salmon. The fish itself didn’t taste too great — that’s probably my biggest complaint and the reason why I’m giving the place 3 stars. The seaweed salad was delicious. Hopefully, it was an off night for the fish — I’d be willing to check out the place again.

I want to start off by saying the owner and staff here awesome and super friendly. They would get a 5 star. That’s where positive ends. The sushi was one of the worst I had. My wife and I are visiting from San Diego and stopped by here for dinner. We ordered a Tokyo roll, some kind of deep fried roll(which wasn’t a roll at all), Chesapeake roll and gyoza. My wife got a stomachache from the food consumed here. The owner and chef really need to reevaluate the food coming out of this kitchen. It’s really bad. Price is average for Baltimore. If you want to be disappointed by food then by all means come here.

I love this place. They have decent sushi, reasonably priced. The owners are really nice. Once you pay a certain amount for me it’s been(29) they give you a free roll.

This place is very unassuming on the outside and even worse on the inside. Very little décor and small tables packed close together with a drink fountain against one wall, you’d think you were in a fast food restaurant. The napkins were a weird gold silky material. I was going to give 3 stars just because the owner was so friendly but please see the 8÷18÷14 review and my experience was nearly identical(except I didn’t order a Coke). The California roll was definitely weird with a paucity of rice and very firm(not quite ripe) avocado. It sounds like we both got the same free roll at the end of the meal(which they seem to give to everyone — which might explain some of the overly favorable reviews). Plus they brought out our order in a weird sequence. For example we got all of the hot rolls(more on them below), then all the sushi at one time and then the California rolls after we finished the sushi — I like to mix and match sushi & rolls during the meal. As to the thing I think they called hot rolls — we got soft shell crab roll and crunchy eel roll. These rolls were sliced very thin and were hard to pick up with chopsticks. They were just OK but a little bland. Nothing like a typical crazy maki roll you get at other places. I don’t know if you can get good sushi in Towson(we were visiting from out of town). Maybe the folks here don’t really know what good sushi tastes like but — I hate to say it — but this is definitely NOT it!

Very friendly service! I think the waitress and sushi chef were husband and wife. I ordered a Chesapeake roll and it was very good. As I was finishing my roll the waitress came by and gave me a California roll on the house. The roll itself was mediocre but as I always say… If its free, its for me! The only problem was that in the middle of lunchtime the restaurant was completely empty and very quiet until they turned on some soft Japanese style music which was a nice touch. The next time I find myself in Towson with the urge for sushi I will definitely go back.

Think Bob’s Burgers: Really nice owners, like everyone says! We loved the food and the service, but we’ll make it a point to only come here for take out. The fluorescent lights and general décor left me feeling a little sad.

Like other people said… the owners are incredibly sweet and I feel bad to give them a negative review. My Story: First of all, I use Unilocal a lot(love Unilocal!) and so regardless of the shabby appearance of this place I trusted my fellow Unilocalers who had given this place a 4 star average review. Sadly, it ended up being beyond disappointing. The Sushi: The Fish does not taste Good or Fresh. The texture and feel was mushy, which is always a(scary) tell tale sign that its not good quality/fresh fish. The Cuts were also not very«clean».(Meaning they are likely not using a sharp enough Japanese sushi knife) The Rolls: Not only were the cuts somewhat uneven but as others had mentioned, the rolls fall apart. For those who don’t know, this happens not only when you don’t use«Sushi Roller» properly but also when you don’t properly knead the rice(rubbing rice between hands/fingertips for 5 – 10 mins in water to clear off the starch). That’s what causes the rice to get extra sticky. The more you knead, the stickier the rice.(I doubt that the owners know this, judging from the consistent complaints) The Eel Roll had way too much sauce and the sauce itself didn’t taste like the typical yummy eel sauce that makes everything taste awesome. The eel itself did not seem great either. Overall: To say it plainly, I just don’t think these Chinese owners know Japanese sushi or the how important quality is in that market. It would truly surprise me if they even eat sushi themselves. My Recommendation to them would be to get Highly Educated on Fish Freshness and what«Sushi Grade» really means. Maybe get a new fish distributor because whoever is selling you fish is ripping you the f*ck off! Not only can you get people sick(a reviewer mentioned this happening) but also it is unacceptable to be serving RAW fish that is not SUPER fresh. . Regardless of how nice these people are, if they don’y completely change their food quality, they will fail. If anyone else has/has had a similar experience to me, please share it openly. These people seem to want to do a good job and I feel like they just have no idea wtf they are doing. Be brutally honest and hopefully it will be enough for them to change.

So I know from the outside it may seem a little sketch, but do not be turned away from the outward appearances! This place is fantastic! This was my first time here and I think this will become my go to place for sushi. The sushi is amazing! All of the fish and rolls were super fresh and they pace bringing out the rolls perfectly. My favorite rolls I had were the butterfly roll and the crazy salmon roll. The butterfly roll had spicy salmon that was actually the perfect amount of spice! And the crazy salmon roll was an amazing mixture of everything I love: jalapeños, cream cheese, avocado, and salmon. We also ordered an orange dragon roll and a tasty roll. These are a little different because it mixed hot with cold temperatures, but I still thought everything tasted good and fresh. Out of the two I would recommend the tasty roll. It had a fried salmon and avocado roll topped with lump crab meat. It reminded me of the best kind of crab dip I used to eat as a kid! I highly suggest it; definitely different but worth it. The service was amazing and they were very accommodating. We even got a free roll since it was our first time there. The only complaint I have is that some of the rolls were a little loosely wrapped, but that will not stop me from coming back!

What a disappointing visit. I don’t know why the reviews for this place are so high– it was not very good. First, I ordered a soda because I saw that they had a soda fountain machine(usually sushi places only have cans, so this seemed like a nice surprise). But alas, they brought us two cans of soda instead. The soda tasted funny, and we realized it had expired two years ago. There were no non-expired diet sodas, so we switched to water. The salad was good, probably the highlight of the meal– good sesame dressing. The miso soup was flavorless. The gyoza was good, but no better than you can get frozen at trader joes. The sushi itself was sub-par. Just not good quality. The tuna roll was extremely cold, and I think the tuna had been frozen. The California roll wasn’t good– the avocado was hard and unripe. The salmon roll was tolerable, but unremarkable. Everything was rolled poorly. They gave us an extra roll to make up for the expired soda, and that wasn’t good either. I feel bad writing this review, because the people who work there are so nice, but I was just so disappointed in the sushi quality. I hope it was an off day, but everything was pretty consistently mediocre, verging on bad. They need to improve the quality of their food.

First of all, let me say that the service was amazing. The woman who was waiting on us was super friendly, understanding and very responsive: so it pains me to write this review. But at the end of the day, I come to a restaurant for the food, and food was just not so good at all, bordering on bad. I ordered two orders of California Rolls.(my usual at a sushi joint). The roll’s outside was visibly lacking rice. Like, it’s almost as if my sushi had a bad case of leprosy. You could see large bare spots of green of seaweed on the inside out roll. It reminded me of the first time I tried to make maki… except more amateur. The roll’s were small, oddly shaped, with unripe avocado, full crab stick(I like when it’s shredded) and a large piece of cucumber. The gyoza, I ordered meat, were dropped off and I was told that the inside was shrimp and pork mixed together. The entire inside of the gyoza was white… which means that it was all shrimp, but had a bit of a weird flavor. I tried my friend’s miso soup, which had a bit of an off flavor as well. Our diet pepsi’s were expired and the server apologized a good deal. Which is fine and all… though it boggles my mind how your diet pepsi can be two years expired. It’s one of those things that turns over fairly often at the supermarket. I can’t imagine what sort of network you are getting your coke through. The highlight of my meal was the small green salad that was served to me at the entrance. The dressing was absolutely delicious. I mean, I would buy it, if they bottled it. But unfortunately, that’s the only thing that I’d buy again. The server gave us a free thin circular roll, that was like a California Roll, at the end of the meal; which I assume is an apology for the expired cokes, which makes this review even harder to write. But, I was led here expecting a 4 star lunch… and unfortunately, received a very clear 2.

My boyfriend and I decided to do carry out from here one night. We would have ordered over the phone first but it seemed that there is no accurate menu online. So we went. We ordered three special rolls. I wish I remembered their names. There was one that was meant to have tuna and avocado on top but the chef offered to do it all tuna and we said yes. They also gave us a free fried roll. Everything was just okay. Nothing to write home about.
