One of my favorite restaurants anywhere. The sushi chefs are absolute pro’s. Very inventive. The Thai menu is superb. The panang ped is my jam. The staff are excellent and really know the menu well. I’d give 6 stars if I could.

Bloody Mary’s and mimosa for $ 10(bottomless) amazing alcoholic drinks! With a completely different atmosphere with everything wooden inside.

The food here is consistently good but why don’t they deliver?! Not even GrubHub or OrderUp goes there. Like I said, great food — panang curries and drunken noodles are great!

Been to this restaurant several times over the last 4 years. Generally great food and above average service. Came in tonight with a great friend to have a good time. Service was a tad bit slow at first. The problem was with the entrée. My friend ordered a dish with beef. She ordered it medium well specifically. When it came we were mid conversation as is normal at a restaurant. The waiter came to check only once. And even at that he just refilled waters not our beverages. The beef was medium not medium well. He didn’t come back at all. We also had to fight off fruit flies from landing on our food. Front corner table right in front of the window. I had to get the attention of a different server. Asked for the manager. That took almost 10 minutes to happen. It ended up being the owner. As I explained what was going on he seemed a bit irritated. He kept looking at my friend as «I» was explaining the unhappy environment we had been experiencing. Maybe because like himself, she was Asian and I am not. He offered to heat up her now cold and under cooked entrée. I said no, she would prefer something freshly cooked. As I again had to get him to look at me as I was talking to him. He then just snatched the plate up saying«fine» and stormed away. Now I have dined in many places even in the Baltimore area. And I am in the industry. Maybe he feels a sense of entitlement because in general the food here is fantastic. But his attitude as an owner was horrible. And after speaking with another server I found out his nasty disposition is his normal. I would only recommend this place for order out. Horrible service clearly something that the staff gets directly from ownership. As a follow up. The owner offered to take it off the bill. And when the bill was later presented, the charge was still on there. Wow, what a classy guy. He knows a lot of about getting repeat business. This app requires I give at least 1 star. But this experience would have me give zero stars.

This was my first time eating here, my family and I got take out on a Sunday night. We ordered the red chicken curry and it had a very displeasing smell, which lead to a poor taste. Would not recommend getting it. The other item we ordered was Pad Thai… How can you get that wrong? The noodles were so dry and flavorless, I was really unsatisfied by how non-fresh it all seemed. Maybe it was an off night, a new chef, whatever… Probably won’t be going back.

Was here for a birthday party Tuesday night. Great service and awesome food. Sushi was fresh. We had drunken noodles, Tom Yum Goong, nur nabm thok, Thom Tum Kai, plus other dishes. All were very good. Was pleasantly surprised with the food after having read other reviews. Can’t wait to go back!

Quality: 4⁄5 Quantity: 3⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 super friendly Roughly $ 14 each for dinner portion: drunken noodle chicken: 4.5−5÷5. Excellent taste. Little spicy but worth it. Pad thai chicken: pretty plain… Tastes ok id ask for it a bit spicier but it was a soothing balance for the drunken noodle.

I wouldn’t come back for the Thai food, I would try the sushi because their menu specials looked really good. I ordered the pad thai which I would never get again. They put in the chicken skin and I’ve never had a pad thai that has that in it. While I was eating I didn’t know what it was and noticed there were huge chunks of FAT in it. Pad Thai is supposed to be a healthy dish, I ended up picking out all of the fatty pieces. I was very shocked by this. I also ordered the spring rolls. SUPER greasy. They were swimming in grease/oil. Of course they tasted good, but I was so turned off by the amount of grease soaked in them. Not sure if all of the Towson college kids come here while drunk, which I’m sure would make it amazing, otherwise no bueno. So I will be finding another Thai restaurant to go to and stick with.

This review is for the B-lounge connected to the restaurant. My boyfriend and I were told to wait at the bar for a table. We both sat down and ordered a drink. The bartender who served us was literally the most disgusting display of health code violation all wrapped up into one human being. First he kept sniffling and snorting phlegm while getting our drinks, and was clearly sick. He then coughed into his hands. Then after he served us, a group of people came in and as he stood there talking while FONDLINGALLTHESTRAWSINTHEHOLDER. I can’t even make this up. With the same hand he just coughed in. It was like watching a documentary on how to get sick. After I looked at my boyfriend and we decided to leave, he proceeded to wipe his sweaty forehead with his palm and continue tending bar. Ugh. Right as I was getting my coat, I looked over to see a waitress holding a tower of soy sauce dishes with her hand on the bottom and her chin inside the top dish, holding it altogether. WHATTHEWHAT. You can put your FACEONDISHES! Anyway, if you eat here, take airborne first and only eat at the real sushi bar on the other side. Good grief.

Craving Thai food in Towson? You need to head to Thai One On. It’s a small restaurant that shares a wall and opens into the sushi place next door. You can order from either menu when on either side… it’s not a bad set up. The drunken noodles are always my go-to Thai dish so that’s what I stick to!

Really good spicy tuna hand rolls and good curries, and I have also had the drunken noodles on several occasions. I love that it is walkable from Towson and that I can go here for a quick bite with colleagues and friends AND can get a beer. I would advise walking over driving due to parking.

We’ve been here a few times and usually get the Pad Thai which is good. Today we branched out and tried the drunken noodles based on the Unilocal reviews. I specially said NO spice and yet they’re basically inedible for my husband. There is an entire jalapeño in it. I know the dish is supposed to be spicy but we were told it could be made otherwise. We did take out or it would have been sent back. The chicken satay app is dry but the peanut sauce is good.

Thai One On/San Sushi has been a staple in the Towson area for nearly 20 years, so they must be doing something right, right? Well, to begin, I’ll say that I’ve been to TOO/SS 20+ times over the past 15 years. Initially, I thought they served decent but extremely overpriced Thai food(my main reason for eating there). The flavors in the Thai sauces were distinct and fairly good. The sushi, on the other hand, never really seemed too fresh. However, because they offered both a Thai and Japanese menu, it was a great place to meet a large group of friends with a somewhat diverse Asian palate. It was never a go to place, but the location(just off the Towson circle, mins from 695) and the menu options brought friends together. So that was a plus. That said, over the past 5+ years, the place has really fallen. Where should I start? PRICING/QUALITY I need to start with this because it affects every other category that I’ll discuss. This place is WAY overpriced for what you get, and it always has been overpriced, a carryover from the early days. For some reason, the owners and/or managers must have confused the Pennsylvania Avenues in Towson and DC. TOO/SS is in Towson… price the food and drinks accordingly, unless you plan to provide a high-end dining experience. The current quality, which I’ll get to in a moment, is bad take-out…bad take-out from a place without seating and a bullet-proof, circular payment window and a tarot card reader upstairs(nothing against tarot card readers). The Thai entrees(my focus because the sushi doesn’t look fresh enough to eat these days) pretty much range from $ 13-$ 16. That isn’t necessarily overpriced if the food is truly traditional Thai and they provide a decent portion. Unfortunately, TOO/SS misses on both of those marks. I never leave there feeling full and the quality of the food, which once would have saved this review a bit, has completely faded. Last night I had their Pad Ka-Prao, which when prepared properly(with fresh ingredients), is exquisite and refreshing. The dish I had last night was served in a syrupy, generic, brown sauce that hardly resembled the typical basil infused dish that can be light and refreshing. The Pad Ka-Prao sauce shouldn’t look like gelatinous goo enveloping the other ingredients like ectoplasm. To the other Unilocalers stating that TOO/SS has the best Thai food or sushi in Baltimore… you really need to get out more. That’s not opinion, that’s fact. The drinks are mediocre and overpriced, unless you catch happy hour, which, to their credit, is a very healthy happy hour. They offer an early HH and a late HH. AMBIANCE Overall, the décor is dated. It looks like they haven’t put a penny into the interior since opening day. The only plus is the chairs… nice solid, wood and no tears in the cushions. The wallpaper looks like the«soul-glo» family from Coming to America left head prints in a perfect pattern throughout. The lighting would be better served in a tiny, locked room as an interrogation technique. Finally, the white linen tablecloths, while a nice effort, are really not necessary when everything else misses the mark by so much. Also, the choppiness of the entire place is disconcerting. They have 4 entrances(3 in front and 1 in back). They have 4 different«table» dining areas(all separated by walls), a dance club, 2 bars(the sushi bar and at the«dance» club), and 2 different restroom areas(the men’s room in the rear dining area offers sub-freezing water to wash your hands… seriously bone-chilling…had to cup the hot tea for a few minutes just to move my fingers again). That’s enough to leave most customers confused. Not to mention the fact that the very narrow hostess/server station is in the center of this confusion, requiring puzzled customers and busy staff to squeeze through the same space, creating many awkward moments(every time I’ve been to TOO/SS). Chef Robert Irvine would have a field day here.(Hint: he may be your best hope.) STAFF Like many places, it can be hit or miss. Unfortunately, last night was a big miss. In defense of our waitress, and to her credit, she did tell us that they were extremely short-staffed(it was Jan 1), and we were in no rush so I won’t knock them for this. However, the only other waitress appeared to be in a foul mood. And since the staff and customers have to squeeze through and navigate the hostess/server station isthmus, I had the pleasure of encountering her and her displeasure was glaringly obvious. MISC They’re trying too hard to be everything to everyone and not doing a very good job. They’re Japanese, they’re Thai, they’re a dance club, and they’re a sushi bar. To be complete in Towson, they only need to add a hookah bar, which seem to dot the Towson landscape like bagel shops in NYC. CONCLUSION In the late 90s, TOO/SS was a palatable yet overpriced gathering place for a diverse groups. It’s obvious they lost their hospitality and culinary passion a long time ago.

I’ve been there 3 times in a week — food is excellent! Shrimp Pad Tai very very good — Drunken Noodles — excellent! Spring Rolls were out of this world! I’m going to try the sushi soon.(oh and by the way — excellent tea while I waited for the food). One of my new favorite places…

We just moved to Baltimore and have been on the look out for a great thai restaurant(which the city seems to be lacking!!) this place is super yummers! We had the spring rolls(a little oily which is why 4⁄5 instead of 5⁄5) the Panang curry and drunken noodles which were super, super, super yummy! We will def be back here!

We made a quick decision to eat here after our first choice was closed in that no-man’s-land period between lunch and dinner. Entered and snaked all the way around to another room, where the décor was markedly different — was there a Thai-Japanese merger at some point? The menu seemed to say so, as both sushi and curries were featured. We were starving and ordered both. The sushi was decent — we ordered a Spider Roll and a Spicy Tuna, and both came exactly as expected. However, the Thai part of the evening was extremely disappointing. My red curry was clearly prepared with sweetened coconut milk, which I found extremely unappetizing — I picked at a few bites to be polite but couldn’t eat much of it. It was also very soupy and, for a vegetarian entrée(I had ordered tofu) there was a startling lack of vegetables. My husband’s Pad Thai and our friend’s Drunken Noodles were both heavy on the noodles, but they ate them anyway and weren’t too dissatisfied. Service was average, neither friendly nor rude, and the atmosphere was a little on the dumpy side — nautical theme and hand-scrawled dishes in colored chalk. With so many great restaurants in the area, why come here? That question answers itself.

The first thing we noticed about this establishment is that there’s no clear entrance. We entered underneath the neon sign, saw no hostess station and sort of wandered towards the back of the restaraunt. We saw that there was a doorway to either the left or the right, chose right and found much the same set up. An entrance to the street, but no hostess stand. Another archway to the right, and presto! I was now in a sushi restaraunt and very confused. This must be the norm or perhaps seat yourself, but eventually one of the servers helped us out. We were having a birthday dinner and I’d reserved a table for 11. The menus have sushi and Thai options, since it seems the two businesses are connected. Unfortunately they didn’t have enough menus so we had to pass them around and share as a group. The Pad Thai was sub par. The sushi was average to below average. It took ages to get the food together, and even then it came out in patches, so most of us let our food get cold while we politely waited for the rest of our party to recieve their food. The server was the only one waiting on such a large group, and I’m not sure if she had other tables or not, so I can’t say if the slow service was due to her over extention. She was pleasant, given the circumstances. I wouldn’t come again unless it was another birthday request.

Got a LivingSocial… or maybe it was a Groupon for this place so was excited to learn they had sushi AND thai food. Win-win right? Getting inside was a little confusing they have two entrances, and the«Sans Sushi» side was almost empty. Not sure if that place turns into a raging party scene on Saturday nights but it was definitely completely empty on one half. Almost like they were clearing it for something. When I mentioned I had reservations I was brought to the Thai Side. Much more lively over there. The décor was a little… interested. Spray painted fish scenes on the walls, and I could see in the back there was a large sushi bar to sit at. We had a table by the door. The place was pretty busy for a Saturday. We ordered the Chicken Satay for an appetizer, and some Pad Thai as well as the Panoung. Both were great entrees I really think my favorite thing was the Chicken Satay. We also shared a regular order of sake. Service was great and I really thought the food tasted fresh. I did not try the sushi but I would be back to try that! Or even order carry-out. Prices were great, our bill came to about 25 dollars(after removing the living social). So another win!

I was visiting family in Baltimore and we went to Thai One On for dinner. The Chicken Satay and the fried spring rolls were both okay — the satay’s peanut sauce was watered down, and the fried spring rolls were more cabbage-based. The Chicken Panang was extremely spicy and was not as peanut-y as I thought it would have been. The yakisoba was good, but it had a lot of vegetables rather than the noodles. The Pad Thai was sweeter than the usual, and we had it with the chicken, which was good. +yakisoba

I came here due to a living social certificate that I bought. I came here with my husband and we sat in the sushi section. We started out by ordering veggie tempura and gyoza. Both were pretty good, though the sauce that came with them were a bit too sweet. Then we ordered a sushi combination(tuna roll, CA roll, and cucumber roll). They were pretty bland and rice a bit hard. Service was good and pretty attentive.
