We ate lunch here a while back. The food wasn’t great but the service was OK. I ordered the lobster bisque which came with my meal… definitely not lobster bisque. No lobster flakes or lobster flavor at all. Pretty much just tomato basil soup. Everything else was just mediocre. Decided we won’t be back here.

The owner is not a Customer Oriented Person and will not allow separate checks at one table because he said that no customer should be getting a double discount. I took my daughter their for her Birthday, she wanted to order the lunch special $ 7.49 and I wanted to order two separate dinner orders $ 15.99(one to go) with two iced teas $ 2.75 each for my daughter and I. I specifically ordered it this way so that using the Tracy High discount card I could save $ 12.00 on my order(I do this on a monthly basis). Server came back and said that she had to charge me the full price for my daughter’s order so that I could get discount of $ 10.99 regular price. Anyways my order should have been $ 32.97 instead of the $ 40.67 that I was charged because the Manager didn’t want to allow two separate checks. I will no longer be a customer of Strings in Tracy!

We had a birthday dinner for a group of seven. Our server, Kelly, was fantastic. Main courses were good and the desserts were fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about our server. She certainly made a big contribution to us having a wonderful celebration for my granddaughters 16th birthday. Thanks Kelly for wonderful service. We will be back to Strings in Tracy soon.

I recently ordered lunch for 10 people to be delivered to our facility. The order was delivered on time. The lasagna was absolutely delicious as well as the marinated grilled chicken breast. The salad was mostly lettuce with various toppers in sections, which made it necessary and a little difficult to toss. Also have to say, the house salad dressing was phenomenal! Will be ordering again soon!

I had the chicken parmesan with a Italian cherry soda which had no flavor the chicken parmesan was gross and the water taste like it came from a garden hose the only good thing is the bread. The cooks looked dirty and weren’t wearing any hair nets I’m hoping my food was handled good.

I enjoyed my time at Strings. I got the Pasta Siena and the waitress recommended that I add extra curry which was a great call by her! The raspberry Italian soda was delicious as well. Plus, I really liked the service overall making it a good experience. I will go back.

My wife and I tried Springs recently with our son and don’t plan to go back. The prices were good. The service was great. The food was not. It was just so mediocre. Not bad, just bland. If we are eating out, we want tasty food.

Cute place, but the food was EXTREMELY overpriced. $ 18.99 for mushy chicken parmesan. Wouldn’t go again. Not worth it.

I just happened upon this little gem of a restaurant while traveling through Tracy. Excellent service & the Nina Ragout was amazing! A must try! This will be a regular stop now.

Picked up a small fettuccine with chicken and ceasar salad with chicken for a family in need today. $ 19.00 on the menu for the salad plus an unknown amount for the fettuccine«total when you get there» kind of thing. $ 12.00 for 6 ½ loaves of bread not to complain about but… $ 119 that included a charge for chicken: called«open food» for $ 40 alone??? I could have bought 6 rotisserie whole chickens for that price! Your food isn’t that great to be charging that much. Way to go ripping off local residents. It was ready on time is my only compliment. No wonder I never come here!

I brought my hubby here for a pre father’s day meal and sadly we both were thinking never again. I asked the server if the salmon was fresh because it used to be great but over time has gotten teeny and flavorless. she went to ask someone in the kitchen to which I heard another server reply yes I caught it myself today. Totally get a little sarcasm but in a restaurant for $ 18 plate I just expected a little honesty… we got our food and honestly reminded me of a frozen salmon… not good at all… the hubby’s seafood pasta was equally flavorless… needless to say we spent $ 50 on 2 dishes which we completely regretted… once we walked out we both agreed never again. Very sad cause I actually used to really like this place.

I have always liked this restaurant from when i first visited it a few years ago in Sacramento. This one in particular is kind of nestled away in the corner of a shopping plaza. The food is always delicious and I would recommend the strawberry Italian soda for everyone. My meal of choice is of course chicken parmesan. This seems to be a slower location because i came in around 130 pm and there was two people eating. The server was excellent though.

We’re in Tracy, felt like eating good Italian, found this restaurant, very close to hwy, good parking and very good food at a decent price, we choose from Lunch specials, which have complete package with soup/salad, hot bread is good.

A solid 3 stars for this place. The food is definitely on the salty side. The service here is hit or miss depending when you go. We don’t really have any fave food choices here and we go occasionally maybe once or twice a year.

I had tried strings in Vaisalia, CA and it was great and with that in mind I came to strings in tracy. But this place is not that great. Bread though fresh does not taste good. Pasta was a little to watery for my taste. I like their Italian soda’s. I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was recently re-introduced to Strings Italian Café and it went something like this… ME: Hello STRINGS: Wow, where have you been?! I was thinking since you hadn’t called or sat inside me that I did something wrong. ME: Huh? I don’t think we met. STRINGS: Oh don’t pull that bulls**t on me! Remember that night, you along with your friend came in and you ordered my world famous Lasagna Pastry? ME: Oh I remember now! Was that you?! You look different! STRINGS(blushing): Oh well you know a little off the top here and there but my offerings are still the same. ME: You always knew how to please me with your offerings ENDSCENE(Avoiding food porn status with this review). Strings is just as I left it with hearty, inventive dishes that are usually bursting with flavor and character. I ordered up a host of dishes for the fam and this is what I came up with… 1. Artichoke Dip — Artichoke, spinach & pepperoni baked with a cream and Italian cheeses served with Parmesan toast. Extremely recommended especially with the pepperoni floating around in there to give it some good flavor. 2. Lasagna Pastry — Lasagna baked inside an onion-garlic pastry shell served with meat and alfredo sauces. This hands down is a unique and tasty dish, one of the first ones I tried when I initially met«Strings». Sister and BIL shared this one and liked it. 3. Pasta Sienna — Shrimp and chicken sauteed in virgin olive oil, pesto, garlic and red chili pepper, tossed with sun-dried tomatoes and penne pasta with a touch of alfredo and a hint of curry. This was the fave dish by all, it had such flavor and who would’ve thought to use curry in an otherwise Italian dish? Did without the sun-dried tomatoes this time though. 4. Shrimp Scampi — Shrimp sauteed in garlic, white wine, lemon juice and butter with a side of pasta and vegetables. This was my Sister’s main and she was a bit confused by this dish because the portion was much smaller than the other dishes and the pasta was tossed in a marinara which is not mentioned in the menu. Last I checked Shrimp Scampi if served with pasta is usually swimming in the scampi sauce the shrimp was cooked in. 5. Italian Burger — Breaded veal cutlet baked with marinara and Italian cheese served with red onions, tomatoes and lettuce served on a focaccia roll. The burger was great, full of great flavor and I was glad the marinara sauce wasn’t too acidic. Did this burger without tomatoes. Overall it was a great reunion aside from the menu and portion snafu. Also wasn’t too keen on their packaging since this was a takeout situation. I’m sure I or we will be back though!

The coupon from Tracy’s Book of Savings is a big convincing factor for us to go here. It’s about a 30%+ discount depending on how much you spent, which means the kids can have Brownie Lasagna(vanilla bean ice cream sandwiched between chocolate brownies with raspberry sauce and whipped cream)! The Pasta Siena, with its creamy pesto/alfredo sauce and a hint of curry, may arguably be the most solid option from their menu. Then again, it’s not something I would order in a heartbeat because I’m a red sauce kind of guy. The problem is that their marinara sauce is just about average and their cioppino broth leaves a lot to be desired. Even items from the Specials Menu that we’ve tried were not that impressive at all. So I guess this place just sits somewhere right near the middle…
