I currently work at Zim Zari and I plan on being a part of the goal of the owners to provide the ultimate quality, service and dedication for our guests! The important aspect when it comes to the owners, in my mind, being in the business since 1973, They are and will be there for their staff. They have helped me for personal reasons involving my children and grandchildren without question. I have another 6 years until I can retire with my military pension. I will retire from Zim Zari. I encourage everyone to experience the quality, exceptional service! You will not be disappointed.

Inexpensive place for tacos and burritos. We love coming for lunch as service is quick and friendly. My husband loves the Filet and Crab tacos and I’ve become a fan of their Fired Up Chicken special. The chips and salsa they bring to the table are addicting. Drinks are tasty too. Also recommend the sweet potato tater tots as a side.

Great family of restaurants — Zims and Craft Street. Waitresses and bartenders are well-trained and their food is consistently excellent. I’ve been somewhat of a lunch regular since the place opened. Food is good, service is quick and pleasant, and the atmosphere is nice. Great place for adults and kids. This is actually the favorite restaurant of all 3 kids and right up there as a favorite with my wife and I. Volcano shrimp(tacos or side) are our favorites.

I love the Island Chicken Salad. It’s not on the menu, but if you like the jerk chicken tacos, you must try it. It is delicious! Service here is always friendly and fantastic. It’s a great place for families, dates, girls nights and more.

2 words: Taco Tuesday. Up to a couple of months ago my bf and I ate here virtually every Tuesday… until we discovered the Smoked Old Fashioned at Craft Street next door. On Tuesdays Zim Zari offers low pricing on tacos ALLDAY($ 2 on most tacos, a few cost a little more). And if you eat there between 3 and 7pm, you can get the house margarita for happy hour pricing. Winning! ALL their tacos are good so try them all. Zim Zari has specials every day. See what they are here: My bf and I try to sit at the bar when we eat here… faster access to the margaritas and tacos. In addition, Katie, the server at the bar, is friendly and is good at her job. Try to get here as early as you can because, starting around 5:30pm or so, there will be a wait.

Excellent food and drinks. Staff was friendly as well. It could use a few more TVs in a few areas so you don’t have to turn your head while trying to keep up with conversation and sports at the same time. But, I will be back for sure.

This place has a great atmosphere, and great food. The tacos are delicious and very cheap. I went on taco Tuesday and had a surf and turf taco, a fish taco and a chicken. All the tacos were piled high with meat and just a tiny bit of lettuce. They were all delicious and you get generous portions. Definitely one of my new favorite places.

We stopped by to eat at craft street kitchen, but they were closed. We looked around and saw Zim Zari and thought we would try it out. Over 120 reviews and 4.5 stars… I had to give it a try. It did not disappoint! The quality of food, customer service, and prices were stellar! This place is the perfect spot and the food is too notch. I wish it was closer to New Tampa. Even though it is a trek from where I live, I will be back. My wife and I wee very pleased with our waitress Julie. Very punctual, informative, and did a great job. I had a special called the Chimichanga Del Mar, while my wife had the Sweet Heat Popcorn Chicken tortillas… they were both very fresh and delicious. The complimentary chips and dip are to die for. The salsa was sweat/spicy and was like no other I have ever tasted. Overall this is is a great spot and I can’t wait to try the other delicious items on the menu!

Came on a Tuesday, not realizing it was Taco Tuesday. Ashley approached — professional and knowledgeable … I made a few substitutions, which I am sure was annoying. but both my tacos came out perfect. I could have eaten 2 more… I had the Filet Mignon and the Surf and Turf. Good job.

Meh not impressed. Only ordered 2 things and waitress got one of them wrong. Chickens tacos were so so and fish tacos didn’t even seem cooked. Didn’t bother to try to eat them. With so many good taco places out there this place is not worth your time.

Went there for lunch the other day(Friday) It was busy so we sat at a tall table in the bar. The iced tea tasted fresh brewed from real tea bags and not the powdered stuff. I asked for it with extra lime and was actually given LIME(and extra slices in a small dish on the side) not lemon. In most places, requesting lime instead of lemon seems to stymie most servers. Major brownie points. My only complaint is about the chips and salsa. Granted, it’s complimentary but the chips were thin and flavorless. The salsa was ok. I ordered the ahi tacos. I have to say they were amazing. The ahi was fresh and well-seasoned. My friend ordered the upside down nachos. The portion was generous, meriting a to-go box. Our server was friendly but not overbearing. Drink refills were offered quickly. Our food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. We sat for awhile and chatted but were not made to feel like we were taking up space. Being an ex-server I know how irritating it is when diners«campout» at a table because in places like this, faster table turnovers equal more tips. That was appreciated and our server was generously compensated. Will definitely recommend.

Zim Zari wasn’t my first choice. Actually, to be perfectly honest, it wasn’t my choice at all. My team and I decided to have a before work gathering. We made plans to visit Craft Street Kitchen. I was super excited to try out some of the various offerings on their menu. But, despite calling in and making«reservations,» Craft Street informed us that it would be an hour long wait. I was cool with that. Some others in my party were not. So they decided to put our name on the Zim Zari waitlist(as well Craft Street’s) and see which one opened up first. Zim Zari did. So Zim Zari it was. Zim Zari is a «taco centric» California inspired restaurant. I figured it would be easy to find some vegan food here because most burrito/taco joints have something on the menu that fits this diet. As it turned out, it was pretty difficult. Everything was covered in cheese or sour cream or some other meat or dairy substance. After a lot of perusing I discovered that Zim Zari does offer a vegetable and bean burrito that includes grilled zucchini, yellow squash, red peppers, jack cheese, ginger lime rice, pinto beans and oven roasted garlic tomato salsa all wrapped in a flame grilled flour tortilla. It sounded like a pretty winning burrito so that’s what I went with minus the cheese. I can’t say I was super excited with the result. What little flavor there was didn’t seem to mesh well. As I was eating it I kept thinking, the cheese has to be what brings this all together(or masks the lack of flavor elsewhere). I get that it is a lot to expect out of a restaurant to make a substitution to their dish and have it come out tasty but that is the reality when you are vegan and there isn’t anything being offered on the menu that fits into your diet. Hopefully Zim Zari experiments with some vegan dishes at some point so that I don’t have to hold them accountable for something that isn’t completely their fault. I will say, the following day I ate my leftovers and it tasted a lot better. Either I was super hungry or the flavors flowed a lot better after they had some time to mingle. The lesson here for vegans is to order a veggie and bean burrito as take out and let it sit in your fridge overnight. Otherwise, look for another place to eat.

Outstanding Service at the bar. Seating area is hit or miss with server. Food is delicious! Come for Taco Tuesday! Jerk chicken taco is my personal favorite. Update! I just ate the Ziggy! That might be the best sandwich I have ever eaten! Unbelievable.

Surfing through Zim Zari and we were greatly surprised by the delightfulness of this California dreaming kinda place. I was looking for something not so overwhelming, and the pork and plantain bites started calling my attention. They consisted of roasted pulled pork, served over fried plantains, drizzled with BBQ, mango salsa, fresh cilantro and a side of cilantro crema. Yes, it was perfecto. My hubby ordered the orange chicken bowl which was crispy chicken, pineapple salsa, ginger lime rice, and ginger orange sauce, and he was set, and ready to go. We were able to bring our surf dog Mocha Coconut. He was so comfy while we were California dreaming in Zim Zari. I also had a refreshing mango margarita, and we were set for the beach. All was happy go lucky in our world. Service was stupendous and super cool and collected.

I’ve seen my friends check in here before, but tonight it was OUR turn. I really didn’t know what to expect, and the name is very exotic. so I kind of crossed my fingers and jumped in. When we arrived at almost 8pm there was a 20 minute wait to be seated, but once we were seated, our waitress(Kerry, I think) came over right away and took our drink orders. She was really friendly and personable. She answered all our questions and let us know what to expect since it was our first visit. For our starters we ordered the pork and plantains, which turned out to be a really tasty combination. I’m not very adventurous in my food choices, I usually leave that up to the Husband, but tonight, those flavours combined nicely, The smoky pulled pork, the slightly sweet plantain, the sweet with heat of the mango salsa and the bbq sauce made for some really good bites. And the cilantro crema? REALLY tasty. Since it was Burrito night — They have a special every night of the week — the husband ordered a chicken burrito, it wasn’t anything fancy but the flvours were all good. I ordered one of their Zinzaladas, a chicken one. For me, the red adobo sauce was a touch too sweet, but when I added some of the left over cilantro crema. well that just made it all the better. What really made this a 5 star visit though? It was the fact that the manager came over and welcomed us to the place, he even gave us a voucher for a free appetizer the next time we come back. That was above and beyond in my book and shows that they actually care about what the customer thinks. We will be back.
