As a vegetarian, this is my go-to spot in Troy. After a couple visits to B-Rad’s, it’s apparent I’m not the only one who makes myself a regular here. This place has developed an almost cult-like following since they’ve opened their doors on 5th Street, blessing the collar city with their presence. B-Rad’s offers comfortable seating, an accommodating waitstaff, and by far the best talent of any kitchen in the city. The bar is rightly stocked with great options and anyone mixing cocktails obviously knows what they’re doing. The drink list here is just as creative and experimental as the food menu. In the morning, you can have something as light and quick as homemade granola, fresh fruit, or one of their KILLER parfaits. On the weekend, I drag myself out of bed and roll up my sleeves for the main event, the almighty Breakfast Pizza! It’s incredible how much food you get for the price. If I manage to finish 50% of my meal, I assuredly will not be hungry for the rest of the day(I have a healthy appetite, believe me). I spend the rest of my afternoon eagerly anticipating the chance to finish my leftovers. Usually, I’ll have to wait until the following day. My wife raves about the Raspberry Mint Mimosas. She also frequently orders some filet mignon hash plate that she says is among the best meals she has ever had. It’s always entertaining to witness n00b’s react to the Bloody Mary’s…they’re never prepared the first time and you can spot someone being served their first B-Rad’s Bloody Mary from a mile away. Personally, what seals the deal and makes me a regular at B-Rad’s is the daily homemade soup, it’s always something creative and delicious. Roasted Tomato and Smoked Gouda Bisque… stfu. All jokes aside, don’t talk to me after they set this down in front of me if you expect a serious reply, or anything more than a grunt or eyebrow twitch for that matter. I’ll most likely just flick the balled up straw wrapper on the table next to me directly between your eyes as punishment for taking my focus off of the party going on in my mouth. Let me live. For lunch, my wife usually orders the BLT.(Note: She says this is the only place she will order a BLT due to the fact that«B-Rad’s is the only place with crispy bacon». Crispy bacon seems to be my wife’s Holy Grail. The first time she ordered the sandwich it was if she had found true inner peace. She’s such a cute little carnivore. Although, if it is on the menu, the Hearty Chili in a bread bowl with a dollop of sour cream trumps all. I’ll usually order a grilled cheese with pesto on rye(rye bread is the X factor here. So good.) For dinner, my wife could close her eyes and point to anything on the menu and be happy. Without my self-imposed dietary limitations, I’d be confident doing the same. If you’re like me and enjoy eating fresh food and supporting local business, this is a great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Whether you’re looking for something light, or a five star feast. B-Rad’s has it all and then some.

Everybody loves B-Rads, so I was disappointed to find out that considering they have a HUGE menu they have extremely limited vegan options. They have a portabella mushroom sandwich but the mushroom wasn’t cooked well so it was really hard and messy to chew and eat. It was a good sandwich besides the mess factor. The Mimosa’s are amazing. The cucumber one is my favorite. I can’t have any of the bloody mary’s which is another disappointment. Payment is a hassle, they seemed to struggle with splitting our check the first time. Which is the systems issue not the servers. They can’t just take two cards and split it, they have to actually divvy I wanted to like this space, but there really isn’t a reason for me to go back just yet. Maybe in the future they will introduce more vegan options and I’ll have interest in returning.

Our family(5 adults, 2 kids) went to B-rads for breakfast-it was delicious! During the week, you order at the counter and they serve the food at the table. Though they were swamped with holiday catering orders, the service was great… the cashier/server, cooks, etc were all very friendly, courteous and helpful! Our group ordered the fluffy pancakes(which were truly fluffy-yum!), eggs, and egg sandwiches, including the Irish with corn beef. Everyone enjoyed their meals! The place is not fancy, but very comfortable! We plan on going back to try lunch!

So this in reality is a 3 ½ star winner! Interesting menu, went for Sunday brunch and very much enjoyed the food. Not your normal boring menu. Fun and interesting combinations that tasted delicious, a little less citrus in the crab cakes would make me truly happy thou, lol. It’s an interesting space, could be a little cleaner, but I’m a clean freak. The staff are young and need to be honed a little but we had a great waitress ! Next time dinner !

Definitely a great spot to hit up if you are in downtown Troy. Love the atmosphere and they have really unique choices. I recommend the Doritos encrusted tuna melt. Sounds weird, but its great! Also, the portions are huge!

There will be a wait for brunch, but it’s worth it. Food is reasonably priced, high quality and delicious. Definitely try the benedicts! Drinks are tasty, but will double your bill. This is a great little spot where you can’t go wrong.

B-rads is taking lunch time classics and elevating them to the next level. They’re doing wraps stuffed with teriyaki chicken and cucumber wasabi slaw, quesadillas filled with duck and brie, and they’re even serving one of my pre-meal favorites; deep fried green beans. My first visit here happened to be on Cinco De Mayo, and on Cinco De Mayo I eat tacos. The fish taco was unreal both in flavor and appearance. Generous portions of flaky fried fish, salsa, guacamole, pickled jalapeños, cheese, and a mound of additional toppings all in a twelve inch fried tortilla. Talk about a taco Tuesday to remember! Most recently, I was here for lunch with a friend. We started with the aforementioned fried green beans, and had the teriyaki chicken wrap and duck and brie quesadilla as our meals. Again, everything was excellent. The beans were fantastically crispy, the wrap was packed with flavor, and the duck and brie transformed what would have been an ordinary quesadilla into an extraordinary one. This little restaurant packs a big punch. The menu is creative and executed well, the staff are welcoming and friendly, and the food is outstanding; all reasons I’m sure to be back again. Note** the fish taco and duck and brie quesadilla were specials on the days that I went, so if you’re going specifically for those two things check if they’re available beforehand!

An amazing place to go for brunch. I haven’t tried any of their lunch or dinner items, but I’ve been here for breakfast food about a million times. My favorite thing on the menu to order is the I’m Irish, loaded corn beef topped with fried egg and sharp cheddar between two potato cakes, except I substitute the potato cakes for a croissant because I’m not a big fan of potato cakes in general. Seriously delicious! I’m a fried egg and corned beef fanatic, and to have it between a buttery croissant is heaven on earth. The corned beef is tender, the egg is perfectly fried, and it’s not overly cheesy. The prices of the food are insanely cheap for what you get. All the special breakfast sandwiches like the I’m Irish are only 6 bucks and they’re all bigger than your face. I like that you can go over to the fridge at the front of the store on the side to get flavored creamer. On the tables there is only regular creamer, but you can get up and help yourself to baileys hazelnut or French vanilla creamer(I love hazelnut creamer). They also serve alcohol which is a major plus! The only cons I would say is that the service can be a little slow at times. It’s also awkward when there’s no where to sit and you must wait because there are only two wait chairs and they’re also positioned in an awkward space where people are constantly walking back and forth and you’re kinda in the way. Also, I’m not a huge fan of their bennies like most people are. I’m a fan of a classic Benny with they don’t serve, and the ones they do serve the eggs are never cooked correctly. A poached egg should be very runny but their eggs on their eggs Benedict are about an over medium. My friends always get Benny’s but are always disappointed in their over cooked poached eggs. Other than that, a great place to eat with great prices!

I would give 10 stars if I could. Brad has the magic touch when it comes to food. This time we were there for dinner. Jessica was our server, and her smile was infectious. The bar was full, and all tables full when we left. We had the filet minion and prime rib. We asked for side salads to start, and OMG… you should see the side salad! It is incredibly delicious food. You have to go there! They are also open for lunch, and it too is incredible!

We’d been planning on going to Finnbar’s for lunch a couple of Saturdays ago but when we got there they were having issues with National Grid so we had to rethink our plans. B-rads was around the corner and had halfway decent reviews so we decided to try it out. They were serving brunch when we got there. We were seated pretty quickly but our table had a definite list to one side, but that was remedied by having my husband sit in the short seat. We looked over the menu, and decided on our food. Blueberry waffles were a special, but my daughter really had her heart set on blueberry pancakes so they fixed her up. I ordered a breakfast pizza and my husband got a roast beef club and a cup of the seafood chowder. They had a drink list on the back of the menu, some pretty unique bloody marys, but no draft beer listed. It wasn’t until my husband walked past the bar did he see the beer taps. I did end up getting a Rare Vos to go with my lunch. The food was good, with really huge portions, enough of my pizza and my husband’s sandwich for another meal. The only negatives were the soup wasn’t really hot and my pizza was really heavy on the cheese. I probably would ask them to go easier on the cheese if I ever ordered it again. While Finnbar’s is my go to for lunch in Troy, I’ll have to switch it up a bit and return to B-rads.

I went here for brunch this weekend. On the whole, I was very impressed with this little bistro. I will be returning in the near future to try more items on their delicious looking menu. The food was excellent, but there were a couple of small missteps that kept this place from getting five stars. This time around, I ordered the trio of eggs benedict. It was served on a wooden plank, an impressive plating, with three good sized variations on the classic dish. The Maryland style, served with avocado over a crab cake was my favorite. The crab cake was large, tasted excellent, and paired well with the avocado and egg. The Southern style was very good as well, with sliced fried chicken and sweet potato fries over a waffle. The Florentine was good, but paled in comparison to the first two. Served with home fries, the dish was a very large portion for $ 14. The girlfriend ordered the whack stack, which was very good and also a generous portion. However, they were out of the blueberry compote, so it was served with just maple syrup. The only miss was a bloody mary served with steak and potatoes. The drink had a good flavor, but the steak skewer that accompanied the drink included a very chewy piece of meat. The restaurant was smaller, with an open kitchen in one room, and a nice seating area with a well-appointed bar on the other side. We arrived for brunch at eleven on a Saturday, and were happily seated immediately. Overall: the food was excellent, and a very good value. I recommend it, and will be back to try more.

Great! Had the Kale and shrimp soup in a bread bowl — absolutely delicious. The only down side of the bread bowl is that all of the liquid is absorbed… so there’s nothing to slurp. The soup was delicious — perfectly seasoned with fresh ingredients. They took top half of the roll and threw some butter on it… and it’s only $ 7. Very reasonable prices. My friend had a chicken caesar wrap… it was gigantic and he had to take half of it home. Served with potato chips(you have a choice of fries). I would definitely go back here. The staff was friendly and the food was really good. I love the register, too. It’s an iPad. :)

This is a solid spot. However, we went to their brunch thinking it was a buffet as mentioned in some reviews. They now offer an a la carte brunch menu and the buffet is no longer offered. The food we ordered was good and tasty. But with all the extras like a side of bacon juice, coffee etc. it was much more then we expected to pay for breakfast. We each had one of their«Benny» dishes. Everything tasted great but the poached eggs were over cooked. Almost to a hard boiled consistency which is not acceptable. Their daily lunch menu looks great. And they seem to have multiple choices for soup, up to five, on any given day. Perfect for this time of year.

The biscuits and gravy were legit one of the 2 or 3 best things I’ve eaten in this area code in 14 years. No joke. The menu looks worth exploring but it’ll be hard to pass up the biscuits and gravy. And it’s super reasonably priced. Great job, people!
