Still a great place after 2 – 3 years? They now serve Sight Coffee and it is excellent. Staff is so friendly. Baked goods and oatmeal look great. Mocha is gourmet. Only thing missing is real whipped cream. Really should have that. Otherwise, excellent.

Fresh press juices are great. The orange cranberry scone was delish. Service was great for them being so busy. Recommend trying if you are staying at the Ritz.

There was a good selection of Blue Bottle Coffee and chocolates available for purchase. On our first visit, the latte was quite warm but our mocha was cold. We also got bagels, which were good but limited in choices(everything, plain, blueberry). The croissants and the chocolate croissants were very small for the price($ 3 each) and seemed stale as well. However, they kindly replaced our croissant when we pointed out the issue with a banana muffin that was fresh. The croissants really did not seem like Ritz Carlton quality. Overall, the service was great and the price was reasonable for such a nice hotel. The atmosphere is nice, but unfortunately, the shop closes quite early so there isn’t much time to get lunch there or an afternoon pick-me-up.

Coffee was great! Decided on just a drip coffee, and it was mighty tasty. Much better than the coffee in the rooms. No iced tea, always my first choice. That was a bummer. Quiche offerings were explained, but I didn’t find out the one I picked had mushrooms in it until I started eating it. Not a fan of mushrooms and would have never chose it if I had known. Bummer number two. Next time I’ll just stick to the coffee.

They serve Blue Bottle espresso: I’ve had it several times: sometimes it was great, but other times it was sour and astringent. I’m not sure the baristas know how to maintain consistency. This café closes early: about 1PM when it’s slow. However, even though the doors are locked, they keep making shots of espresso for the rest of the hotel until 10PM. You can sit at the bar in the«living room lounge» and order a shot there. Also, the Manzanita restaurant has an espresso machine, and the people who operate it are also Blue-Bottle trained. The giant macarons are OK; a little on the soft/dense side:

Will you look at that, even the Ritz is moving towards caffeine connoisseurs. Cool to see that they’ve dedicated a space for blue bottle coffee. In addition, fresh juices, baked goods, and panini. Theyve revamped the old café here, made it a tad more rustic and focused. Certainly loved the fact that i can get my New Orleans iced coffee after a solid meal.
