Ive been buying my cross-​country skis from this shop for 20 years, starting back when it was located in Soda Springs. The current staff and location are first-​rate. Gary is very knowledgeable and helpful, but it helps to stop-​in when things aren’t busy. Emphasis is on equipment for skiing on prepared trails (not backcountry) with lots of equipment for high-​end recreational skiers as well as citizen racers. Pricing, while not inexpensive, is competitive and service is excellent.

My wife and I stopped in to buy boots, and we were so impressed by the selection and friendly, candid service that we now go back for every piece of gear/​accessories we need. This whole store is like a xc skier’s paradise. We shopped around (including other stores in truckee), and I’ve never seen a bigger selection elsewhere. This place has everything you can possibly need under one roof.

I’ve been into Sierra Nordic several times this year and last. Every time I go I get great service and great advice. Bought my cross country boots here– love them! I’m just learning how to wax my own skis, hence the several visits this year, and the owner has given me some helpful tips and he’s been really patient answering my questions.

I was surprised to find that I was the first to review Sierra Nordic! This is a fantastic cross country ski shop with a staff that is patient and very knowledgeable. This is truly the best place to find XC ski gear in North Tahoe area — they have a wide selection with great prices. Anyone looking to purchase XC gear should visit here first.
