Slice Pizza

Left two messages to order 5 pizza’s for the family. Its a Thursday night. This pizza place won’t last long if that can’t answer the phone.

Not bad, lots of cheese and decent sauce, would recommend for quick stop if you’re passing through or definitely a to go pizza place.

20 MINUTES FOR A SLICE?!
it takes 3 – 5 minutes max, folks. if youre ‘making slices to order,’ as they say here, youre seriously missing the point of having slices. so dont bother asking here. its an ok pizza, but not good enough to spend your time waiting an aeon. get it together ‘slices.’

This place was awesome. We initially picked it because they were one of the only places that delivers. We were all pleasantly surprised. The food came fast and it was delicious. We ordered some green salads too and it came with an Italian dressing that was amazing.

Once again, Slice was awesome. Ordered at 6:30 on a Friday night and pizza was ready for pickup 30 minutes later. Love the NY-​style thin crust. Salads are only $ 4 a pop and loaded with peppers, onions, mushroom, and cheese. The ranch is really good!

Came home late and needed some food so ordered up the Truckee Slice for delivery. I really enjoyed the sweet pineapple and spicy jalapeños on the thin crust… not too filling but great taste combination. I am also stoked about beer and wine delivery especially for the 4^th of July weekend coming up.

Since the new ownership took over, they never have a driver for delivery. Take out only these days

Pros: they deliver. It was hot and on time.
Cons: forgot the jalapeños on the Hawaiian. Pricy and on the small side I think, but this is a ski town. Thin crust tasted like cardboard, the card stock kind, not even corregated.

We ordered a large cheese pizza– it was freakin tiny… $ 25.00 plus tip– bummer.

This place is small hole-​in-​the-​wall pizza place. I think their focus is on take-​out and delivery. I wouldn’t really consider it a dine-​in restaurant… although there are a few nice tables (clean) and a TV (I posted a photo of the seating area).
The guy who helped us was really nice. We ordered tossed greens salads and a large thin crust pizza with our standard ingredients (half salami and black olives and half pineapple). The salad was a good size and fresh. The black olives are the kind that taste a little like green olives (which we don’t prefer). The sauce and ingredients went all the way to the edge of the crust (which is nice so you don’t end up with a bunch of «bread sticks» you paid for but didn’t order). The crust was cooked just right and had a good garlic flavor! The worker said they brush a garlic olive oil on the dough. It may be a bit much for those garlic «haters» out there. :p
My family liked it and we will come back again.
There was a coupon in one of the tourist magazines they had near the register. It was $ 3 off an XL, or a free SM cheese pizza with purchase of an XL through May 2015.

Although their name is Slice, they are more geared toward making whole pizzas. I would also make sure you call your order in, otherwise you will wait forever. Make sure u ask then when the pizza will be ready for pick up. Other than that the pizza was okay, but the slices are huge!

As an east coaster who moved here 5 years ago and have 2 kids, I am always looking for a good pizza. I have never been to Jiffy’s before as I have never heard great things but the word around town has been nothing but great so we gave Slice a try!
Pizza is great. Love the hawaiian with jalepeno and you can order thin or regular crust!!! The deliver which is a plus for Truckee and they even serve beer and wine. I would skip Jalesco’s next door and grab a pie from slice!

Came in with my boyfriend after a move from NY– he moved before me and couldn’t wait for me to try a made-​to-​order Slice!
We ordered and sat with a beer waiting for a cheese slice. The order in the kitchen was somehow a Slice Special rather than cheese, but when they realized the error they gave us both for the price of one since we waited extra for the second to be made. The woman working was very apologetic and friendly.
Even beyond the extra slice it was worth the wait– a delicious, fresh thin crust. I’ve never had a made-​to-​order slice before and will definitely be back.

Pizza was quite good. Very tasty with a great crust. It must have some kind of garlic in it. Only reason I give 4 instead of 5 is the price. A little pricey but I found it to be worth it. I would have had it delivered if not for their delivery fee on top of 18.50 minimum order for delivery to begin with. Why have a minimum if your going to charge a fee on top any ways? If I’m in the truckee area again this will be my first choice for pizza.

Goodbye Jiffy’s, hello Slice!
We would hit up old Jiffy ’ s once in a while for bulk pizzas (eg. Kids parties) … ok pizza but not the place you’d go if you were looking for a great pie. All that’s changed. under a new name and new management, Slice was a great find.
We checked the new place out after getting skunked by a long line at Jalisco (next door). Both the insides and the pizza got a major makeover! Got a hefty meat pizza (forget name), loved the flavor of the sausage especially. Crust hit the sweet spot.. not too thick not to thin.. not to hard not to chewy. Looking forward to sampling more on the menu!
And now you can actually sit comfortably inside, decked out tastefully with a big wall mount tv. The only thing missing is beer but the sign on the wall said it’s coming. Sweet!

Been a long time local in Truckee and am excited someone is finally doing it right! Ordered a pizza and it came within a reasonable time and it was terrific. Great job for the new owners, Keep it up! «Happy» I can finally get a good pizza delivered.

Seems like they only deliver to Glenshire when they feel like it. Every time I call they claim to not have enough drivers. This place is a joke. I can’t imagine they’ll last long with that type of business mentality.

Its been a very busy holiday weekend but new owners have been working very hard. Pizza was great and salad, also the chicken wings are to die for!

Had their pizza and garlic chips the other evening. Great sauce and crust. Heard the owners are new, good change.

Tasted several different pizzas and all of them excellent. New owners putting a new flair to standard pizzas. Also new items to the menu like chicken wings (great variety) and pastas. Beer and wine will be available soon… can’t wait.
