This place opened near our house about year ago. The pizza is good and my kids like but way too expensive. Just order a med cheese no sauce. $ 20. I guess they think if you live in Trumbull they can double the price. Time to find a new place.

Pizza quality is consistent and we always take advantage of the Family Feast deal: large pizza, wings, and a 2 liter Coke for $ 20! The wait time is the only downside but it is WORTHTHEWAIT!

Gave it another attempt, this time stopped by and ate at there rather than trying to call in an order. While the ambiance is less than amazing, the food was delicious and of good quality. Staff was friendly and the venue was clean. Will happily give Crown Pizza another try. I really want them to succeed, we’ve had so many failures at that location, I’m still pulling for them!

Although the pizza is pretty good, I’m giving this place only one star because of ethics and not doing the right thing. I called and placed an order for two large pizzas with one topping. The price came out to ~$ 32. I’ve only noticed after receiving the pizza, that they have a constant coupon that states two for $ 19(toppings additional). When I called and ask why I was not given that price the person told me that I have to indicate that I have this coupon and hung up the phone on me. A place that values their customers, especially a new place, should do the right thing from the get-go and if they didn’t, they should try to fix it when somebody calls and complains about it.

Pizza is consistently excellent. I have never been disappointed and the delivery times have been well within reason. The chicken veggie comes particularly recommended.

I would love to give this place more stars because the food was really very good and worth the money. But the disorganization of the staff and management led to an hour plus wait for food for take out for many patrons. The excuse that someone quit that day is really unacceptable, as the problem seems to be systemic, from my other visits here. Rule number 1… Don’t tell people on the phone their food will be ready in 30 minutes if people staring at you from across the counter have been waiting 70 plus minutes for their food. The staff seems so willing to make it work, actually running around the place like that would help. However I believe they lack any real proper training. I also believe a restaurant consultant to review their processes would be the best thing they could ever do for themselves. I’m afraid they may fail because of the frustration of the patrons and managements inability to see that they seriously need some help to streamline their processes. It’s sad because they really seem to genuinely care about the quality of their food. And it was delicious!!!

Regular pizza is just okay and had a long wait time. Nona pizza is top notch and is my new favorite it town. I look forward to trying their other food soon. Hope they work out their kinks with wait time.

Pizza is ok. Good crust but kind of greasy. The biggest issue is the wait time. They told me 40 minutes but it ended up being over a hour.

We just moved to southern Trumbull and were on a mission to find good pizza. I’m from New Jersey and my fiancé spent 6 years in Manhattan so we consider our standards pretty high. Between New Haven, Stamford and Norwalk I’ve had a lot of trouble finding good pizza in the 7 years I’ve lived in CT, but I’m happy to say that I’ve finally found what I consider to be the best so far. Due to the other reviews, Crown wasn’t the first place we tried. There were at least there other local establishments that were OK, but not great. Maybe if we stuck with them I’d eat less pizza and be better off for it. But nonetheless, we gave Crown a try and oh man was I happy we did. Crown by far has the best pizza, not only in Trumbull, but in CT according to the places I’ve tried. And I’m including Frank Pepe’s, BAR and Sally’s in New Haven, Fat Cat in Norwalk and other random New York style places around the rest of the counties. Now of course keep in mind that I don’t really like New Haven’s burnt thin crust style, preferring the old fashioned New York pie. And this is just one man’s opinion, so take this with a grain of salt. I’m sure I’ve already offended some Pepe fans :) In either case, Crown pizza is excellent. The dough is tasty, the sauce is sweet and the cheese is ideal. Even their mushroom pies taste like authentic NYC. I heard they may have had some trouble with quality when they first opened up, thus the negative original reviews, but I haven’t experienced any of that since I first went there in August 2015. They can get pretty busy on a Friday night so wait times might get long sometimes, but I’ve been in there when it happens. They were fully staffed, so you know it’s because of high demand, not low supply. Their chicken parm sandwiches could use more sauce and some better chicken, and they’re not the local best in the mozzarella stick department. But I’m set on Crown’s pizza for the foreseeable future. Give them a try.

I wanted to like this place. I really did. When I saw this was going to be a pizza place, I got excited! I love pizza! I was a fairly regular customer when this place was a convenience store, never tried it as a taco place. watched anxiously as they transformed and then finally opened as «Crown Pizza». First, there are no lines in the parking lot. So unless there are a bunch of cars in the lot, parking can be disorderly. Second, this place is TINY and tight. It seemed bigger before. Next, the pricing kind of surprised me as they are 2+ dollars higher per pizza than average places around here. On to the pizza itself. Again, I want to stress, I REALLY wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, the pizza was not good. I don’t mean it was terrible or inedible but you can get this level of pizza or higher literally anywhere. I mean on Main Street alone, Old Towne is just a couple blocks away in the Stop and Shop plaza — in the opposite direction Mario The Baker is across from Price Rite Supermarket, then San Remo, Captain’s, etc. This is a pizza heavy area — if you’re going to open a pizza place that is going to last long term you’ve got to deliver VALUE, EXCELLENCE or BOTH. and sadly, you provide neither. In passing, I’ve seen kids hanging around on their bikes, so maybe they cater to selling slices to the immediate neighborhood? I don’t know. All I know is as often as I pass this place, I won’t be stopping in again. Way too many good pizza places in the surrounding area to even consider Crown. Sorry guys. Like I said, I was really pulling for you. Next time open a Chinese place, there’s a lack for that where you are.

First time trying Crown Pizza, called in an order of 3 subs. Was told would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived at the 25 minute point many people were waiting. I waited an additional 30 minutes for my 3 mediocre subs. Service was poor. On the flip side the pizza looked awesome and the delivery person was in and out many times…,

The pizza is very tasty, but the wait can be long. The number listed on their website and on Google is incorrect. If you want to order, the correct number(203) 2685665.

I am so happy that Crown Pizza is here. The biggest thing that Trumbull was missing(in my opinion, being a «pizza brat» from NY) was a «slice joint». The selection of slices you can order here is just like you would see at a pizzeria in NYC. You must try the Nonnas pizza. I haven’t had anything other than the pizza — and I believe it to be be best pizza place in town. They had a bunch of issues when they first opened but I believe that they’ve worked thru them, so don’t let some of the early reviews deter you from giving this place a try.

We ordered for delivery. We ordered a large cheese pizza which was cold. We ordered boneless wings, but they gave us regular wings. They forgot the 2 liter soda. Will not be using them again.

Tried Crown 5 times since it has opened… Very slow. Service is terrible. Pizza is average. Gave them plenty of chances.

A little pricey but pretty darn good for Trumbull, CT. Large pie around $ 20. Good thin crust pie a la NYC. Crust good to the last bite. Didn’t try anything else but a standard pie but as soon as I get the chance I will and add more. Worth trying.

First Try of crown pizza. I’m always glad to try out a new restaurant in Trumbull. So the verdict the pizza is not bad. Middle of the road. it’s definitely way better than Gioves Pizza which does even count as pizza in my opinion. But it doesn’t hold a handle compared to Mario’s the baker right over the line in bridgeport or off the hook in Stratford. With a name like around I was hoping it had something to do the Crown St., New Haven but this is ny style. I’ll definitely give it another shot I think the ceiling is better than the than the regular pie. The wings were not bad either in the salad was a generous portion. Broccoli Rob with garlic and oil was cooked Nicely.

Having lived in Trumbull for the last 5 years, I have seen this location turn from a Deli, to a Mexican Grill, to a pizza place. And yet, the quality and service has remained the same — terrible. I ordered two small pizza’s and a zeppoli dessert at 5:30pm. After being told it would take about 25 minutes, I arrived to pick-up my order at 6:00. I was told it was almost ready and should be out soon. I checked in with the girl at the register again at 6:20(who by the way was actually very good at her job, especially considering the numerous impatient customers lined up waiting), and after checking, she again told me it would be another few minutes. At 6:40 I asked for a refund. I think it was the manager who came to try and persuade me to wait just another 15 minutes, but after refusing he offered to deliver my order to my home. It was a nice gesture, and in all honesty I was tired of watching 6 ‘cooks’ dance around each other constantly opening the one pizza oven they seemed to have in operation. At 7:00 the order arrived at my house. The pizza was hot, the zeppoli was not. The pies were average at best, mostly chewey dough with a tomato sauce that was uninspired, if not canned. This place may very well be a decent spot to grab a salad or a wrap. But I would pass on the pizza-for-dinner idea, and the pizza’s by the slice looked pretty grim. Sorry to say, but this place will not last a year unless they get organized.

Crown Pizza is a welcomed addition to Trumbull! Since moving here about 8 months ago, my husband and I have been on the hunt for go-to, good pizza! I think we have found it! They have only been open about 3 weeks, and we have been there twice in the past 3 days… First visit we stopped in quick for a slice after a long drive home to an empty fridge. We were happy to see an abundance of outdoor seating under a covered patio. Inside, it is smaller, but plenty of tables to enjoy your food.(We were there for a late lunch and there were 4 – 5 tables seated and 5 – 6 guests getting slices and to-go food) The options for slices was more then the ordinary cheese and pep. There was white pizza, margarita, buffalo chicken, BBQ quicken, mushroom, veggie and the list goes on. I opted for the traditional margarita and the hubs went with the BBQ chicken. The slices are HUGE, thin crust with tons of flavor — really good! Our second visit(in 3 days) consisted of a quick lunch of wraps. I got the chicken, bacon, ranch and husband went with buffalo chicken. His quote exactly«this is the best buffalo wrap I have ever had!» Tons of chicken, plenty of sauce and it wasn’t just spice, there was actually flavor in the buffalo sauce. As for my chicken, bacon, ranch; lots of fresh, warm grilled chicken, real crispy bacon, fresh sliced tomato and crunchy bright green lettuce — none of that white-ish/green filler«lettuce» many restaurants use. Crown Pizza has very quick service, we have only gotten take out and stopped in, but both visits were fast. They deliver as well, which I am sure we will test out in the near future. On both visits the gentlemen behind the counter were friendly. welcoming and attentive! So far, Crown has everything we look for I a go-to neighborhood eatery. Their menu is pretty big, and has a lot of wraps, sandwiches, pizzas and salads that I cant wait to try! They are off to a great start, so here’s to hoping they stick around for a long while!
